Free agent forward Brian Cardinal agreed to a contract with the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday, his agent, Mark Bartelstein, told ESPN Insider Chad Ford.
The contract is for six years and worth roughly $39 million, according to Bartelstein. The Grizzlies used their full mid-level exception to sign Cardinal.
Cardinal had a breakout year for the Warriors last year, averaging 9.6 points and 4.2 rebounds per game while shooting a red-hot 44 percent from 3-point range. He's a tough-nosed, energetic player who should be perfect in Hubie Brown's system.
Several teams, most notably the Bulls, also were in the running for Cardinal.
"He's going to be a perfect fit in Memphis," Bartelstein told Insider. "I think Brian recognized that the Grizzlies were a team where he'd maximize his potential."

Didn't expect that from West.
