IIRC, it's 6 years/50 million, which I agree is a bit too much. But hey, they really want him for some reason - either they're trading away one of the 3 (JJ, Q, or Matrix), or they see a lot him and are just gathering talent. Don't forget they have Barbosa and Vujanic may come over (he can play a lot of 2 as well). I think the Clips will match because they'll realize Kobe is using them as leverage and it's a risk of either losing both of getting Q.

BTW, when you're saying you think Nash is worth 25 million and Q 15 million, how many years are you talking? Do keep in mind however, the Suns really want both players. I can understand Nash, I'm not sure sure about Q. They have to offer him considerably more than the original team otherwise the player won't sign. I forget how much Cuban was offering Nash, but in his blog, I think he said it was around 55 million (more or less)...and 65 mil was what really made Nash chose PHX.

JJ and Marion play the 2 and 3, so unless a trade is going down this makes absolutely no sense.

instead of getting another guard in Q why not they get a decent center??? they will have nash and jj for backcourt and matrix and amare for forwards. get a big man plus a decent role player than overpay Q.

It'd be a mistake to see Q leave Clippers and not get Kobe in return. Clippers have 15 days to think about this...I think they choose Q over the CHANCE they get kobe.

Clippers know that they made bad moves in the past. Sterling is trying to prove he wants to win and is willing to open his pocket book. I expect the Clippers to meet with Kobe and if Kobe is showing some strong interest, forget Q. But I doubt that will happen. I see the Clippers taking Q and Kobe going back to the Lakers. Simple as that.

I don't see Kobe going to the Clippers and I think the Clippers know that. Its a long shot to get Kobe from LA and it maybe best to just go and resign Q and try to keep the core of guys together.

I agree here with fgrep. I think they're pretty even outside shooters, but JJ has by far, the better all-around game. Just not nearly a explosive and not the same post guard.

The Clippers aren't matching the offer. JJ is definitely better than Q-Rich. But I really think the Suns are going to make a trade involving Marion. Q-Rich would play SF. The Suns can't get a decent center. Nobody can. There are seven good pure centers in the L: Shaquille O'Neal, Zydrunas Illgauskas, Erick Dampier, Yao Ming, Theo Ratliff, Vlade Divac, and Jamal Magloire. The only two who are going anywhere are Shaq and Divac. Shaq isn't going to any team that doesn't already have a lot of talent. Divac isn't going anywhere but to the golf course. There are only going to be seven teams with good centers next year, and Pheonix isn't one of them unless something wacky happens.

these escalating salaries are a result of the domino effect. the contracts of nash and marquis daniels got the ball rolling. any smart agent will reference these 2 contracts & the ones consequently following them and use them for a bigger contract for their respective client

i.e: if daniels is getting the full MLE, no doubt a better player like richardson deserves a bigger contract.
