Another update in the newsletter
New Programming Team
Gotta say, I wasn't looking forward to replacing a programmer so soon after Uprising was released. Definitely put a little speed bump on the road to updates for the game. No worries, the new programming team is already looking like a dream and I'm doing my best to pull it all together.
Not only is it exciting to get resumes that contain welcome phrases like "MSc in Games Programming...No Mercy Modding...no felony convictions..." but it's also very nice when a perfectly humble game programmer can take a situation I thought was unlikely to be fixed (can't blend animations and transfer hundreds of old animations to new rig) and proceed to show me that I can transfer my hundreds of animations to a new rig and start blending between them.
What initially felt like an extremely shitty position to be in is turning out to be the absolute best position to be in. Push on through.
And another shoutout to me

And I still don't get a single mention? FUCK YOU. Naaaw, happy to help, hope everything works out with the game. I'm still wondering what the fuck happened between them though. Guess we'll never know.

Once again, fingers crossed I guess.

latest newsletter says the contract is out to be signed by the new programmer and things are looking promising. They are going to reboot most of the game it sounds, which honestly it needs, for the real PWX release. There is going to be a "massive" update for Uprising first though, sounds like they are just going to use updating that as a test run then go nuts on PWX.
And for those that want it, Free 2 player only demo -

Very welcome news.

[quote]I hope to show our progress to you all soon. Give us two weeks and we'll show you a peek. We're working on an Uprising update simultaneously with the next PWX game. Trying to be smart with our time. And we're being relentless in the pursuit of a better PWX. Old source code that doesn't support future design goals? Die.

It sounds like they are doing great things, but I hope they dont stretch themselves too thin working on the update and the new game.

Agreed, though I'm eager for an update.

Seriously guys, I dont see why this game is getting so much attention. Looks like it has been in development for so long and it still looks like the wrestlers are skating around the floor looking like toddlers trying to grapple with each other. Not to mention the look of cardboard cutouts for the characters and environment.
Sun Apr 21, 2013 5:27 pm
It gets attention because people are interested in a wrestling game on PC and want to see it succeed, especially given how it came about all those years ago. I don't think anyone's disputing how rough the beta is.

animations are looking a LOT better
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wb-Ic1_H-Pc3:00 mark for new stuff

Definitely a huge improvement.

Definitely another huge improvement there.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7EDgtH4DGbYIts nice to see him so excited about a game that actually looks like some kind of quality. Also good to see that the money we gave him to support the project lead to the change in programmers and therefore to this quality of prototypes.

Definitely nice to see the funds being put to good use. Hopefully they'll continue to make progress and there'll be updates coming soon.

From today's newsletter
If all goes according to plan then all of our planned fixes for Uprising will be released in the first and only update. That week people who preordered the next Pro Wrestling X game would get their hands on an alpha of that at virtually the very same time.
Noice noice noice.
Hiring some licensing firm as well, redoing all art assets and then a different animator can go nuts, or something. Positive stuff it seems

Excellent.
Sun Sep 08, 2013 3:05 pm
Impressive stuff and the latest newsletter did sound promising.

awesome. i havent played any wrestling games for the pc since the mdickie games

too bad wwe2k14 is not coming for the pc
Sat Sep 21, 2013 11:44 am
I'll say.
Meanwhile, it sounds like they're considering foregoing updates for Uprising in favour of continuing PWX. That's a little disappointing as it's not delivering on a promise made to people shelling out money in good faith, but as long as those contributions still allow us to get a copy of the new game, I can get on board with that.

its like, not even the same game....
Sun Dec 01, 2013 12:11 pm
No doubt. Good stuff in the works, it seems.
