Hi Leftos,
I took the liberty to modify your Roster Editor and would like to share my changes, but first and foremost, I need your permission to release the modified version of your tool.
I'm exclusively a MyCareer player and except for the higher seasons, I want my game to reflect the real NBA season as much as possible. Because of this, I've always really hated it when the game trades players to other teams, even-though their real life counterparts have not been traded. When that happened in MyCareer, I would use your Roster Editor (awesome tool btw.) to undo the trades.
Well, after recently finding out that your tool is open source, I decided to automate the process by adding a feature in your Roster Editor that you can use to undo trades. With my changes, you can now select two MyCareer files, then the tool compares them and notes all players that have been traded. You can then choose the players that you want to "untrade" and after confirming, the players will be untraded. So you can use it to compare a backup of your MyCareer and the current one. The feature also automatically creates a backup of your MyCareer files before undoing any trades.
Note:
- Considering that I have very little time between full-time work, playing basketball (even though my season just ended), and private life, I made this the bare minimum, i.e just enough to satisfy my needs, with very little error checking and defensive measures. Mostly, I'm hoping that this can serve as a basis for others to improve the feature.
- My next aim will be to include another feature that would automatically update player stats, team stats and season standings to reflect the real nba player stats - at least for the first season. Not sure how it should work for other seasons, but haven't really thought about it in detail, so any ideas would be welcome.
