I think that has been happening with me for the past few weeks. For your first argument: they say there's a 50-player limit for the created players, right? But I already made about 80 of them in my roster, and counting. But that brings us to your second argument: yup, change the player type to 2 and that makes a created player just like your normal NBA player.
