FUCK YEAH. Simcity 2000 was the best
I loved making disasters happen to wreck a city, just for fun

That looks pretty cool.

I must admit I never really got into SimCity though. LucasArts' Afterlife was my sim game of choice.

OP is a fag for always forgetting to have easily clickable YT link for the video.

This. The roads and water/sewer make complete sense, funny seeing the seeing the shit fall out of that sewage output pipe. Definitely liking the simplistic and accessible approach to the game.
The city commercial theme side of things looks awesome, Metals, Petroleum, Gambling, Electronics, Trade are the types shown in the video. February can't come quick enough.

Closed Beta is out, but you only get an hour of play-time. At this moment, the servers are shut down.

I dont think I'm going to boot it up again, I hate that it has to end but if I play any more.....i dunno, just miss it too much I guess.

Received an email last night for an invitation to an "exclusive closed beta".
Congratulations! You have been selected to take part in an exclusive Closed Beta for SimCity, which will be available in stores and through Origin next week. In preparation for launch, we are stress testing our servers and could use your help. Unlike our previous Closed Betas which locked out certain content, you will be able to play the full game!
This Closed Beta will run from 5:00 PM (PST) to 9:00 PM (PST) on Wednesday, February 27. We have condensed the amount of time in this test to encourage as many players as possible to log in and push our servers as hard as possible. We will be sending you a unique redemption code that day which will grant you access to the Closed Beta. Don't miss this great opportunity to test and play the game. Thanks in advance for your help!

just....dem details....
http://imgur.com/a/yreahSeeing how population growth leads to traffic congestion which leads to poor response times which leads to increased crime which leads to my city burning down which leads to mass homelessness is Awesome.
btw, am I friends with everyone on Origin who is getting this?
Fri Mar 01, 2013 5:42 pm
I'll probably wind up getting it despite my total lack of funds after starting my new job
Fri Mar 01, 2013 10:44 pm
The cool thing when playing the beta was how people came to visit your city. I was just working on my city, and random people stopped by. They were just driving around

That's what it looks like at the beginning. Pretty cool.
I wonder if you can save cities, though, with the whole "online" aspect. The game is really focused on online play, the neighbors in Sim City 4 are replaced by online teammates, who you buy stuff like power and utilities off of.

Delivery estimate: Mar. 11, 2013 - Mar. 15, 2013
WTF AMAZON
Tue Mar 05, 2013 12:45 am
Cheapest place to grab it?
EDIT: Ars Technica's Peter Bright and Kyle Orland seem
unimpressed.

probably greenmangaming with their discount.
it is a drastic shift from large cities to smaller ones, but the amount of detail with the small stuff (and the chaining of events in my previous reply) is what appealed to me in the beta, and in the countdown to the release
there will be an NLSC region for those that want it
Tue Mar 05, 2013 5:59 pm
well, that wasn't addicting....nope....not at all...

I dont know why you wen't disc with such an online game. Evidently the disc only has the 2gig client on it and then you download the rest 10gigs or w/e it is.
