The worst player we've ever seen...

all thses guys were guns in the NBL, hell Gaze is Australia's greatest player and Heal is very 2 close but they were shithouse in the NBA and it probly just proves how crap the NBL really is

There's no disputing the NBL isn't on the same level as the NBA, but Andrew Gaze could probably have been a fairly successful player, perhaps a poor man's Chris Mullin had he entered the draft and played his entire career in the NBA.

His brief stint with the Bullets was a joke, and by the time the Spurs picked him up he was too old to be handed a bigger role - very few teams would make a 33 year old international player their leader when they have younger, home-grown talent. He was basically an insurance policy.

I've been considering everyone's picks, and I'm about ready to post a poll. The candidates so far:

maybe sam bowie. esp if we look how he fair against the number 3 in the draft.

Sam Bowie is certainly a candidate for poor draft choices, though his numbers aren't too bad, at least compared to some of the other people I've listed. I guess he can be considered though.

The reason I'm reluctant to include him is the fact he's only played one season, the same reason I haven't included Darko Milicic on the shortlist. Zaza will probably be there after another season or two (or if he gets cut and never plays in the NBA again).

i believe he was signed by philly round wen gaze was signed by San Antonio i think im not 100% sure but i dont no if he actually played ne games and if he did it was very very litle

but as Andrew said if Gaze joined the NBA as a rookie im sure he woulda been a great player in the US as well as down here in Australia it was just bad luk

Bradtke played 36 games for the Sixers during the 96/97 season, the same year that Heal went to the Timberwolves. He only played around 7 minutes a game. Luc Longley and Chris Anstey are the only Australians who've really been given a fair chance to be solid NBA players, which I think is likely due to the fact both entered the NBA through the draft.

How about the O'Bannon Brothers both were 1st round picks and were top players in the pac-10 those guys are one of the biggest bust ever. im a bruins fan and was really dissapointed

tyus edney could go on the list, ray childress from wake forest too. though i've been hesitant to name any since i like seton hall, anthony avent and terry dehere were pretty much busts. dehere probably more since avent had some productive moments, but as a 15th overall pick avent was pretty bad, never even played two whole consecutive seasons for the same team.

wat bout Sherell Ford he played 28 games 4 Seattle he was their 1st round pik in 95 and averaged 3.2 ppg 0.9 rpg and 0.2 apg over his very short career

He was a pretty ugly selection at ninth overall, with a brief yet certainly disappointing career.
