T-Mac to Houston

Postby twolvezfanfoever on Tue Jun 22, 2004 9:07 am

I just heard on espn that after the expansion draft tomorrow,t-mac and juwan howard is gettin traded to houston for steve francis, cuttino mobley, and kelvin cato. One problem though,Steve Francis doesn't wanna go to Orlando now.Who thinks he needs to suck it up and accept the trade. This is the 2nd time he didnt wanna play for a certain (remember when he got drafted by Vancouver)

Yao and T-Mac would be a nice duo but they still gonna need at least 2 more quality players before they are real contenders and I dont think they would fire JVG to get Phil.Who knows

its a site where they take pics from their former teams and change the jersey and stuff. something they do, but dont overreact

i was gettin ready to post this, but yall are just too damn fast! :x

magic basically ripped off the rockets in that deal IMO. The rockets dont have no type of depth now. Mo Taylor may go to the Bobcats in the draft and I dont think lue can lead that team.

pg-lue
sg-tmac
sf-JJ
pf-mo taylor if not chosen in draft
c-yao

thats a pretty good lineup on paper, but will lue actually be good enough?

That lineup is tentative because the Rockets will NOT have Lue as their starting point w/ Mike Wilks as a backup.

More than likely, the Rockets will use their mid-level exception to pick up either Troy Hudson or Brent Barry.

As a Houstonian and Rocket's fan, I would prefer Brent Barry, but anything is better than Lue.

So actually the lineup would be

PG - Brent Barry
SG - Tracy McGrady
SF - Jim Jackson
PF - Juwan Howard
C - Yao Ming

To me, that's an impressive starting 5...

but what the hell will they do for a bench?!

It's finalized.

Indiana is trying to get the Franchise now. Harrington is a possibility.

Orlando's Lineup:

PG: Francis
SG: Cuttino Mobley
SF: Keith Bogans/ Stevenson (if staying)
PF: Gooden/Cato (Howard if not Okafor)
C: Emeka/Cato

Also this could make it more likely for Orlando to draft Howard because they can play Cato at center.

Okafor is more ready than Howard (right now, I think it'll take him 3-4 years to develop like Kwame).

Francis should be shown the door soon. I see him going to Indiana or Dallas.

As a Yao fan, I don't really like this trade. I really thought the Rockets were gonna be a legitimate contender in a few years with the nucleus they had. Somehow, I don't think trading a player that doesn't feed the ball to Yao enough for another player who probably won't feed the ball to Yao enough is such a good idea, but maybe I'm biased toward Yao.

well if none of them are gonna feed the ball to yao anyways might as well have one that averages 12 more points... for now I have no opinion about this trade all I can say is let's see what happens...

He played good defense against AI in 2001,but thats about it for defense.Thats the only reason people notice him is cuz of that one series. But I see them signin a decent point guard if the deal does go down.

dont panic it's not finalize.

"I spoke to Carroll and it was not a done deal," Fried told the paper. "It's close. It's subject to a few contingencies."

but for me houston lose in this trade. plus if orlando may get good player if they trade francis.

I don't think Tyronn Lue's problem is his defense, more of the fact that he can't create for teammates, is not a starting caliber PG, and is not the greatest passer. His defense is actually pretty good.

I thought the trade was pending on the expansion draft to see if the Bobcats take any of the guys left unprotected, Juwan Howard etc.

Steve Francis, is a good player...but the guy just wines too much. He said he didn't wanna play for Vancouver before he even got into the league and now he says he doesn't wanna play for Orlando. What is up with this guy? Guys like that looses a lot of respect from fans. Just because of his comments, I just hope he does end up in Orlando.

McGrady hasn't really been a happy camper either. First, he wasn't happy in Toronto because he was sharing the spotlight with Vince Carter. He got to be #1 in Orlando, but yet again he's uphappy because his team is losing. It's time for him to step up to the plate and make his teammates better as well.
