cases can be made for TD...
KG has Sprewell & Cassell to help him out, not to mention Wally, a previous All-Star

TD has Tony Parker, still very young and Manu is freaky at times

I would build around Kevin Garnett (big surprise). KG can play and defend all 5 spots in any part of the court. at 6'11", he's taller then most PF's, can jump really well for his height, has a humongous wingspan with those long arms, throws his weight around, (what little there is) is a great leader, and plays the boards like no other.

Oh yeah, did I mention he has one of the purest jump shots in the game? He's consistent, and has good hands, hardly giving any TO's, gets good assist numbers, and is the god of the triple-double.

1. Lebron James (not very selfish, will end up playing all positions on my team  )
2. Darko Milicic (already has the natural abilities [7 foot] just needs more time, he'll be sky hooking w/ Yao)
3. Jason Kidd (I need unselfish players)
4. Camelo Anthony (I need players that won't be afraid to shoot)
5. Yao Ming (He's already 300 pounds [I think] just teach him how to sky hook and hes shooting 90% each game)
6. Kevin Garnett (He has it all)
7. Shaquille O'Neal (old, but still good, and he'll give the others enough of his wisdom by the time he retires)
8. Kobe Bryant (sometimes his will is just unbreakable)
9. Tracy McGrady (once he learns to trust his teammates he'll do fine)
10 and 11. Karl Malone/Gary Payton (They're just tagging along for the ring. )

You're not one to complain, you had Mashburn at 7th, Ray Allen at 5th, and Peja, AI and Pierce over TD.
Big men are always sought after first before guards or swingmen.

What's with you and Mashburn lol, he's not top 10 when healthy, he's good but he's got the defense of Stackhouse and you've gotta admit he is a hog, I like him though, but my like of him isn't going to make me put him higher than he should be.

Much love though, I think you just got hate because you're using personal bias towards Duncan to lower his credibility, and when people start using personal bias their opinios aren't as respected.
It's like me saying Vince Carter is the best player in the league or the best SG, that's the same as you saying Tim Duncan is the 17th player you would pick to start a franchise with especially when Spreewell is 12th, I was expecting Cassell to be in there :P

Much love man, just having fun pulling you leg

1. Shaq
He's still the most dominating player in the league. Every team is scared of him and they change their style of play due to his presence.

2. Tim Duncan
He's proven he can win championships.

3. Kobe Bryant
He has that killer instinct. One of those types of players you see once in a lifetime. He just needs players around him who can "shoot".

4. Lebron James
Look at what he did in his rookie year. He'll be even better next year. He's probably working on his game as i'm typing this. Well not really, he's probably sleeping lol. It's 4 am where he lives. Anyways, next year i'll probably put him in the top 3.

5. Ben Wallace
Look at what happened with detroit. They shocked the world. All because of the leadership of this man.

6. Kevin Garnett
He still hasn't proven anything yet. Every year he seems focused but he can't deliver for his team when it counts. This is what separates Kobe from the rest of the crew (tmac, kg, j oneal, etc ...) But I do like KG's attitude and work ethic. He doesn't whine and make excuses like the rest of his team.

7. Carmelo Anthony
He took the Nuggets to the playoffs in the Western Conference!!
I don't think I should explain anymore.

8. Yao Ming
The Ming Dynasty. I told y'all before that Yao will be the best player in the NBA in the next three to five years. He'll be the most dominant player also. I can see his team winning many championships. But as of right now, he sits at number 8.

9. Jason Kidd
He'll take the Clippers to the playoffs. That's how valuable he is.

IMO these nine players stand head and shoulders above the rest.
I know some of you are wondering about J O'neal but he couldn't deliver this year. He's not at that superstar level just yet. Maybe next year.

Not too many surprises with most people's first three picks, especially #1 and #2. LeBron also looks like a pretty popular choice with everybody, with a few people placing him at the third choice (myself included) with one first place selection by Alcoholic.

I'm very surprised at the number of people that have included Carmelo Anthony and Tracy McGrady in their lists. As for Tracy, why would you want to start a franchise with a player who in the past has complained about zone defenses, whined about everything possible and even contemplated retirement at 25, T-Mac needs to get his head out of his ass. His latest antics will show everyone what Raptors fans have known for 4 years. Here a message for the Orlando Magic fans on this board: I told you so! :P

Here's my list:

1) Kevin Garnett
2) Tim Duncan
3) Yao Ming
4) LeBron James
5) Shaquille O'Neal
6) Jermaine O'Neal
7) Amare Stoudemire
8) Kobe Bryant
9) Jason Kidd
10) Dirk Nowitzki
