If you do not want words put in your mouth, then please refrain from doing the same. I see faults in Kobe's game, the same as I see faults in any other player, but my critical side doesn't come out as much because the Kobe bashers are out in such abundance here. You guys point out his every flaw so it's much harder to defend him than criticize.

I hardly make him look like he's God btw, he may be my favorite player, as Shaq is yours, but that just makes our biases very obvious doesn't it? :P

Hey, I do! I notice he forces shots a bit too much these playoffs and his field goal percentages show that. But what do I know? I'm probably just another "Kobe hater". ;)

Hey, Im a Kobe fan and I discuss alot with you on msn on that subject and I do tell you that he should do this instead of that. He shouldnt shoot that much, Prince is taller then him, has longer arms and legs which makes it even harder. Kobe is a good shooter, but a better driver.

I wish kobe would drive more.
hes got a good outside shot yes, but man, he is great driving to the basket.
He can either go in himself, or he creates for teammates.
please kobe, drive to the hoop more.

about the game, he was great defensiveley, i mean he even did a better job than so-called DPOY ronny artest.
I swear he had more than 2 blocks though, im sure i counted at least 4.
Shaq was dominant as always, Billups was excellent and Tayshaun Prince
played like a vet.

I see where you're coming from Gamewiz, but these are pretty much the real fans that actually see flaws, Sit, Kobe4MVP, Gamewiz and Laddas...

Suddenly hundred some laker fans have popped up praising Kobe as God, that's what annoys me.

I wonder if the Finals MVP would be awarded to a Laker even if they lost. After all, the first Finals MVP trophy was awarded to a member of the losing team (Jerry West) so it wouldn't be without precedent. The main men for the Lakers are also bigger names than the main men for the Pistons, and Shaq has the best individual numbers so far.

(Disclaimer: I mean no disrespect to the Lakers - I'm not "hating". I simply don't see a Piston getting the MVP trophy if the Lakers win, and as I said Shaq has the most impressive individual numbers so far. It's probably a far-fetched suggestion, but it would be interesting if it happened - I don't think it has since West won despite the Celtics taking the championship.)

I still want Shaq to win the MVP trophy, not that I would mind Kobe getting after watching game 2. Thus if he can keep playing that way, kudos. Just as long as they win every upcoming game the way they won last nights game.

I agree with you Andrew.
Detroit's success is due so much to collective effort that it would be hard to give the award to one Piston. Hamilton? Sheed? Big Ben? Billups ? Impossible to choose only one of them. And if you look at the stats, it's true only Kobe or Shaq can get the trophy.
But for this to happen, the Pistons must win and the matchup must be very tight...
I don't really think the Lakers will lose, but I think it will be tight.

( When the Lakers lost the finals but Jerry West won the trophy, how long was the series? 7 games? )

Yes, seven games; the 1969 NBA Finals (the final title for Russell's Celtics).

If the Pistons do win in seven.... although i doubt it is very possible...'ahem' - Shaq and Kobe should be co-MVP's just so that the Pistons feel even more cut! :P

I think it would be more terrible for Shaq and Kobe than the pistons.
If it happens, then it'l be great for nba because it will prove that basket-ball is a team sport!

Apparently Jerry West wasn't too thrilled at becoming the first Finals MVP, as his team had just lost in the NBA Finals for the sixth time in eight years. If the Pistons prevail and Shaq or Kobe win the award, I predict it would pretty bittersweet for them, and that they might feel just as unhappy as the Pistons; after all, it wouldn't mean quite as much without the championship.

Apparently, Billups will get the Finals MVP because the Pistons are pissed at the Lakers and I really think they going to win the series.

If the Pistons win and Rip has a couple more outings similar to Game 3, he could very well be named the MVP.

Dominant performance by Kobe tonight: 44 minutes, 4 of 13, 5 assists, a block+steal, 4 turnovers, and 11 points.

And I agree, if Rip keeps this up for the rest of the series and the Pistons win he'll get the MVP.

well i think 20ppg is achievable but scoring games of 30 will be tough. Overall he's contributing well, with good defense rebounding and ability to pass the ball
