at work i saw a kid wearing a fairly high quality Denver Nuggets jersey (at least a swingman) and saw #35 and thought "is that a Faried jersey?". it was, and i was a bit surprised that of all the nuggets players, his parents bought him a faried jersey

Parents must be Morehead State University alumni.

Capture Tigers-Wildcats NBL game on laptop. Move to external hard drive. External hard drive dies. Buy 32GB USB drive. Move capture to USB drive. USB drive is FAT, so the file is too big. Spend five hours formatting USB drive. Move capture to USB drive. Move to computer. Load in Premiere. File is out of sync, spend ten minutes trying to fix it, only to discover that how out of sync it is depends on whether you watch it from the beginning or not. Turns out it has dropped frames, run through VideoReDo. Edit in Premiere, output. Run through VirtualDub using AviSynth and HD2SD script. VirtualDub crashes. Spend six hours running it through TMPGEnc instead. End result looks like shit. Remove MTMode line from AviSynth script, run through VirtualDub again. Run resulting AVI through TMPGEnc. Open Encore. Encore closes. Open Encore. Encore closes. Kill some time playing NBA 2k12, play two worst games of entire life in My Player. Go to bed.

Wake up, boot computer, open Encore. Encore closes. Open Encore. Encore closes. Watch Wildcats lose to Gold Coast, ensuring a third game of their semifinal series that will be on at the same time as the football.

Watching WrestleMania and getting pissed off as all hell at the Sheamus-Bryan match fits in there somewhere as well. And I still can't work out what the fuck is wrong with Encore. It just crashes as soon as it gets to 'initializing Media Layer'. Something to do with ntdll.dll, according to Event Viewer.

Looks like I may need to reinstall Windows. Anyone know how I can back up my Batman: Arkham City save? I had a look through Google, but all I can find is information relating to the Steam version, and I have the DVD.

Re: Dear LiveJournal,

I don't have the game so I'm also going by a quick Google search here, but have you tried looking under Documents/WB Games/Batman Arkham City/SaveData? I'm guessing if it's not in a folder within your Documents, it'll be under an Application Data folder. You can quickly browse there by typing %appdata% in Run.

Yep, found it. What did you type into Google? All I could find were references to the Steam version.

That's where I tried looking at first, because that's where the NBA 2k12 saves are. Didn't find it, obviously.

Something along the lines of "batman arkham city save game location dvd version", though that path actually came up in a post by someone asking about Steam version saves.

The first term of uni has gone pretty well for me so far. The first two assignments I got back both received distinctions, so it's a better start than I expected.

Now I'm on my mid semester break, I'm heading to Melbourne next week. Can't wait!

Good stuff all around. Have a great trip. :)

My father passed away today. I called my job to request time off. The manager said I get 3 grievance days. Vultures. He even tried to tell me that what helped him take his mind off his mother's death was going back to work. It's not something that I need to take my mind off right now.

Re: Dear LiveJournal,

Really sorry to hear it, Pat. :( Condolences to you and your family.

As for your manager, what a dick. Sure, he's got his own matters to take care of and staff having time off would present some complications, but given the circumstances a little understanding and kindness wouldn't go astray. It's great that he found solace in going back to work, but to instruct other people to do the same is incredibly condescending and patronising; there's no excuse for that at the best of times but it's absolutely the last thing anyone needs to hear when there's a bereavement. Again, what a dick.

I'm sorry to hear it man, I hope you'll be able to take care of yourself and everyone and everything you need to.

Re: Dear LiveJournal,

My condolences to the family Pat. Keep it together.

A little understanding from your manager would let off pressure on work. What a jerk he is.

smh at you guys insulting Pdub after his dad died. His manager knows the business won't survive if Pdub is gone for more than three days, and he was trying to pretend it wouldn't take down not only the company but half the Western seaboard if Pdub is gone.

Condolence to your father Pdub

Very sorry to hear about your loss Pat.

Sorry to hear that PDub.

On a lighter note, I returned to competitive basketball tonight after some time off, and dropped 40 on the opposition in A grade mens with 18 rebounds.

That's a huge loss, PDub. Condolences.

Really, your manager is a dickhead.

Thanks, everybody. Talked to my boss again and got the week off and a couple grievance days to start the next week.

Re: Dear LiveJournal,

Good that you got 1 more week off.
