Iverson's car ticketed at Philadelphia airport

June 4, 2004
PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Allen Iverson's Rolls-Royce was ticketed for being left in a handicapped parking space at Philadelphia International Airport.

Two tickets written Wednesday showed a $300 fine for parking in a handicapped space, and a $100 citation for expired tags.

Airport police said the Philadelphia 76ers All-Star guard picked up the car Wednesday night. It wasn't clear how long the car had been parked or who was driving it before it was left there.

Airport spokesman Mark Pesce declined to comment. A call to the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday was not immediately returned.

Ok, if nobody has noticed, obviously Im being sarcastic, but come one....the NBA Finals start sunday, and they post this, who really cares that Iverson did that, people get tickets like that everyday...media these days  .

Yea, I could care less about his car getting ticketed but the media does alot of stuff to get attention now a days

There is alot of other things that they could be posting about that are way more important than this . Like the NBA Finals(like you said)

It's an AP Wire report (Aside, what is the AP supposed to report about the NBA Finals? That it starts on Sunday?)...it's not the media out to get Iverson...infact this story came out two days ago...Iverson apparently likes to park his car in handicap spots at the airport when the team flies out as this isn't the first time it's happened...

darn I thought AI just got traded..

anyway a parking ticket is irrelevant and doesn't affect his game or anyone game in anyway so this is just dumb..

Sat Jun 05, 2004 4:34 pm

Omg! He got a ticket, seems like I quit being a 76ers fan! He got a ticket!

Sat Jun 05, 2004 5:01 pm

well media has nothing much to report for a while...so i guess getting a ticket would be sumthing to report about  ..... very uninteresting...

As lame of news this is, it does have some signifigance. It shows how arrogant and full of sports players and celebrities can be. Sports players and celebrities think of themselves as above the law, an exceptional being who can do what ever they'd like when ever they'd like. when fact is they're the luckiest people alive who happened to have genes which made them athletic, and are no better than me or you because they're probably lacking in something else.
