The Man In The Mask (Richard Hamilton)

Postby JBalfour4 on Mon May 31, 2004 12:52 pm

Richard Hamilton, put on a remarkable game in "Game 5" of the Eastern Conference Finals. Will he be able to do it again in "Game 6" and send the Pacers packing their bag? Or, do you think it might go down to the wire in "Game 7".

Man, i love Hamilton
he scores 33 points on 12-22 (8-8FT) and has just 1 TO

His game has expanded so much this year. He's now a better defender (thanks to Lindsey Hunter) and he's improved his passing. If he could maybe get better at getting his own shot then he'd be pretty hard to stop.

He's proved that he's a Playoffs performer, he's 11-28 (39%) on 3's in the playoffs so far, but he was 18-68 (27%) in the regular season.

Hopefully Pistons close out Game 6, which is @ Home, Lord Willing

What's with the quotation marks?

And yes Rip is lighting up the Pacers, that may be partly due to him having slow old Reggie cover him but that's still a great game.

sure is, R Wallace had another good game too. From his post game comments looks like he wants to stay

"We know if we play Pistons basketball (on Tuesday) we will be playing in the NBA Finals," says Rasheed Wallace.

He's already got the concept of what it means to play PISTONS basketball. Pistons get 2 shots at a win......home & away

The Sheed is the player that made the difference for the pistons.
He plays really agressive, very very good D and is motivating everybody...i like this guy :)
Anyways Hamilton is doing great (again  )

Yeah, but i think the best is yet to come from Sheed. He's been injured all through playoffs and some in the reg. season.....he's had 2 breakout games so far against Pacers

Personally, Rip is becoming a fave of mine, i love watching this guy.
He has improved so much, and hes gives 100% every minute hes on the floor.
Has the best mid-range game in the NBA, knows how to finish around the basket, and his range is getting better.
Defence has majorly improved, and has a dpted a well all-round game.

hes the type of player i'd like to become, someone who just does not stop running, and biggest weapon is a mid-range game.

Ron Artest and Fred Jones are the guys who are guarding Hamilton now...Miller does sometimes, when both those guys are out of the game, but the Pacers made a defensive switch.

I never seen Rip, stand still on the court unless he taking a free-throw shot. This guy has a lot of energy, its crazy. I think its the headband giving him all that energy.

As said in Game 2 or 3, he ran a self trained (or self mandated) sub 5 minute mile in 9th grade so he has a LOT of stamina.

I've liked Rip for a longg time (as well as the entire Piston starting lineup, it's rare I've ever liked an entire starting lineup this much), although, if there was any Piston to explode this postseason, I would've picked Billups. Billups has the attitude, Rip is more of the wallflower type guy. But I'm pleased Rip is coming alive.

About the real engine behind the Pistons (no pun intended), I don't think you can find anyone really. You can point to their acquiring of 'Sheed and the immense surge they made, but at the same time, the Pistons couldn't do it without Big Ben jumping up and down in there to clog the lanes. They wouldn't be here without Billups and his clutch shots, his leadership, his attitude, his defense, his willingness to adapt. And of course they wouldn't be scoring 80 ppg w/o Rip.

I think in yr9 i could run a mile sub 5 mins.....that was pretty much my athletics peak. But yeah Hamilton doesn't stop moving which is what makes him such a tough cover

Man that fadeaway that Rasheed did in the 4th was cool, he backed down Miller, was dbl teamed and did the fadeaway from just bout 3pnt range

anyways, heres hoping Pistons close out

Pacers got to many hurt players now, this IS the Pistions' game tonight!

IT WILL BE THE LAKERS VS. PISTIONS

I like the Lakers, but I like for Rip and the Pistions to win!

One smart comment deserves anther

Detriot vs. Lakers would be a better match up than Lakers vs. Pacers since the pistons aren't injuried like the pacers.

anyway..
detriot is at home
rip can run
JO is hurt
all this= see you next year pacers!

Yes, one of the lower scoring games I've ever seen. 33-27 after the 1st half?
