sry, i just love the pacers and wanted to piss off some piston fans.
Mon May 24, 2004 8:15 pm
that's hardly pissing me off......and i question why you would want to anyway?
Tue May 25, 2004 2:10 pm
They will not win Game 2, and you heard that from me
Put it front page, back page, middle of the page
They will not win Game 2."
They will not win Game 2
and just like Rasheed said, the Pacers didn't win game 2
Boring offensive game to watch, but it was a good defensive game to watch. Pistons had 19blocks, including a layup that Reggie should of dunk that would of tied the game!
10points 8reb 5 blocks for Rasheed. Wasn't his best game, but defense wins.
Tue May 25, 2004 5:14 pm
HOLY COW that was the best defensive play of the year and possibly of the past few years.
however, that play will overshadow the GREAT defensive shutdown 'Sheed did on JO. JO scored exactly 0 points in the 2nd half and 'Sheed covered him tight. Don't forget Rip Hamilton...he's really stepping it up offensively.

Woohoo. I knew today was gonna be a good day when the Pistons won (and so it was, I got 80% on 1 hard-ass assignment

) Anyway, Rasheed backed up his statement after game 1. I admit I was excited when I heard him say what he said after G1. It wasn’t arrogance or trash talk, it was said to motivate the Pistons. To put them under pressure, a time when they can deliver. Although he had a sucky 4-19 game he did more than his fair share of defence. Pistons had 19 blocks, the most important of course was by Prince on Reggie. Who needs Melo when you got Prince. Look like he’s back, it’s that Jefferson curse damnit! Now the Pistons have home court. Maybe they’ll win 4-2, which is what I hope but I think they’ll win 4-3. The offence needs to be consistent, the ball has to move around and the defence is there 99% of the time.
Can anyone argue that the Pistons aren’t the best defensive team in the L? They led the L with PPGA (tied with SAS at 84.3 I think), They led the L with holding opponents under 100 points (31 games? I think Dallas were the 1st team to break 100 points), Led the L in holding opponents under 70 points…..11 (?) times not including playoffs, and now 19 blocks! Whoa! Can’t wait for Game 3 on Thursday Aus time.

Detroit took Game 3
85-78, and now have a 2-1 series lead. If Indiana wins, I'm predicting it will be in seven, even though they can still wrap it up in six if they win three straight.
Thu May 27, 2004 7:24 pm
Yeah- I think the seires will go down to game 7...
Pacer will win game 4... and then win game 5 and Pistons will win game 6
ANd god knows who will win game 7...

'Melo had a better year statiscally, but Prince fits the Pistons very well. He's the defensive, well not necessarily "stopper", but plug the Pistons need as their best wing defender.
I can't say how many games, since I'm terrible at that, but I still think the Pistons will win. They have Big Mo on their side too.
Fri May 28, 2004 6:30 pm
i think the rest of the series will go Pistons-Pacers-Pistons, end result Pistons 4-2
That block by Prince still has me excited damnit!
Sat May 29, 2004 11:17 am
Oh shit. O'neal injured his left knee

. He's still playing, but it wasn't a good thing to watch. Pacers lead 49-39 @ halftime.
Sat May 29, 2004 8:07 pm
Pacers won
Didn't watch the game so can't really talk about it but from the boxscore reggie and artest looked the best
It might go to seven games now.
Mon May 31, 2004 3:48 pm
Detroit 83, Indiana 65
Detriot takes a 3-2 lead
Once again Hamilton has a big game scoring a playoff career high of 33points

Carlisle is a top 5 coach in my book (probably 5th) and in the book of many GM's, but to play Foster for only 4 minutes in two straight games is a recipie for doom especially the way the team has relied on Foster the entire season for the dirty work down low. A banged up JO, Croshere, and Al Harrington just won't cut it againt the Wallaces and some of the Big and Nasty.

Yeah Carlisle is a good coach....but not a good coach in the playoffs. He's too monotonous. Larry Brown plays traps, full-court presses, man and zone defence and Carlisle just plays man D. Teams know what to expect when they play them....playing some sort of diff D can throw a team out of sync, that's what the Pistons are doing and it works
On offense the Pistons have improved more under Brown as he allows more freedom which is what guys like Hamilton and Billups need.

Hamilton has been great so far but i find billups disapointing so far.
I remember him being more productive on offense than he is now and being more clutch too last season.

He is disappointing. However, you have to keep in mind, with carlisle as the coach, he wanted Billups to freelance on offense and be the scoring point guard he excels as being. However, under Larry Brown, Brown wants Billups to play within the offense and get his shots/points as a part of the offense, not roam freely. He also wants Billups to take more of a leadership role, so that's been harder for Billups. I agree though, he hasn't been as clutch as the past.
