NBA Live 10 PS3 Roster Update

Postby gogiants1001 on Thu May 12, 2011 8:24 am

Hello,

Does anyone have the most recent roster update for the PS3. I accidentally deleted my current roster file that I had before the PS3 hack and now I cannot get the DNA update online. If you can upload the file that would be fantastic. It is fairly easy to upload a file from PS3 to PC:

1. Copy the file from PS3 to flash drive
2. Copy file from flash drive to PC
3. Upload it to this site.

Thank you so much to anyone who does this.

If you found a file and still have one I'd love to get a copy myself.

I loaded one with current rosters and a few rookies (horribly created - I really don't know what I'm doing) at OS. Going to continue working on them but here is a link.

How the heck do you edit NBA players DNA? Is it locked? Again, I'm clueless.

No, it isn't locked. DNA Shooting abilities and Tendencies can be modified. Additional shooting ratings can be found under Inside and Outside.

Thanks Andrew. I just didn't know where to do that. The edit screen is annoying. It doesn't include the overall rating nor can you edit any DNA from it. I didn't realize I had to go to the Create a Player menu to access the Edit Menu which can then be toggled between created players and real players by team.

In terms of outside shooting success, mid range shooting success and inside shooting, what numbers are reasonable? It seems that a number of 50 for outside shooting would be fantastic while mid range and inside should be much higher.

No worries, glad you got it sorted.

I'd agree that roughly speaking, that's a good approach. You can also grab numbers like that from sites like Basketball Reference and in particular, 82games.com.

Thanks. 82games.com has some sweet stats.

I'm not sure if I'm going to create many more rookies. I've been struggling with getting their ratings right. Definitely been having fun with Live 10. It's nice to get back into basketball.

Rookies are always tough because there's a fair amount of guesswork involved. Basically you can take their college or foreign league stats and make some educated guesses, allowing for the higher level of competition in the NBA to balance things out a bit.

If you put anything out there, feel free to use the upload function in our Downloads database too. :)

I will upload something soon. I've got 5 more teams I'm trying to clean up and I will be done. I do want to creat the Top 10 list of rookies. I'll upload that file as soon as I get that stuff done. Probably tomorrow I'm guessing. Then I'll keep track of all the free agency moves as time goes on.

Billups pissed me off last night. I took the Thunder into NY and got blasted by 29. He had 30 while Durant was 6 for 23 from the floor (some bad shots but man that was horrible). I need to exact some revenge first.

Thanks Andrew. I just re-loaded it as I finally have all the rosters clean with guys all on the right teams and hopefully in the right positions. Tried to make roster edits to keep the ratings accurate for present and I think it's pretty decent. Next step is to create some rookies. I want the Top 10-15 to be done before I get to free agency.

I will take any advice on ratings adjustments if you see anything. Do you still have Live 10 Andrew or have most of you guys just moved on to 2K12?

I do still have it but I must admit I haven't played or done anything with it for some time, except to load it up to doublecheck the Edit Player screen before replying to your question.

I have been updating the roster file every 2-3 days. The moves are slowing down now and the roster file is loaded with the Chris Paul trade. Not a lot of big name free agents left expected to switch teams.

Good news. (Y) When it's ready to upload, you can use the Edit button on the current listing in the Downloads section to upload the new file and update the entry as necessary. :)

I thought I was doing that. I hope the right roster file is there. I'm on version 1.5 I believe.

I had a saved roster with all the 2011 shifts from approx mid-season... I started creating rookies yesterday after moving players according to current rosters on ESPN and team sites... I only have about 5 teams complete thus far with approx 18 rookies created... still need to tweak appearances and stats... I uploaded the roster to my EA Locker (pelkeyc on PSN).

I will continue to add rookies and put them on their prospective teams as time allows. If anyone has the players created, upload the individual players to your EA Locker and let me know how to find you... I will download the players and integrate into the roster.

So you are, not to worry then. Not everyone is aware of the ability to edit files they've added and we're keen to get everyone using the new Downloads section and upload facilities, which is why we're pushing it. Appreciate the continued contributions. :)

I'm starting my Pistons season on Monday or Tuesday. Don't want to wait any longer and most of the moves should be done by then. Just wish Dalembert and a few of the bigger free agents would sign already. They said Baron Davis may pick a team by Monday as well.

Even if he does, he's supposed to be out 8-10 weeks.

I think his agent floated that out there to keep him from being picked up on amnesty. Reports are he may be ready much sooner.

I'm on update 2.0 now. Okur is on the Nets and I fixed some depth charts that got reset and were bad like Miami.

Will there be any attribute changes or will we have to do that ourselves after the final update? I noticed Westbrook was rated 97 overall.

It's not a huge deal, but it does change a lot of things in dynasty mode. Contracts, trades, rotations etc.

I've been making some attribute changes when things are obvious. I'll always be updating this so I'll drop Westbrook down a bit. He should probably be closer to 90 imo. I do find point guards ratings are very different from SG and their ratings can get inflated at times.

Athletic ratings can really boost overall ratings, so the game's top athletes often appear to be slightly overrated. Of course, this phenomenon sometimes holds true in real life as well. ;)
