You could possibly chalk it up to angrish on the part of his character.

So the DiBiase-Rhodes IC title match was added, despite not being announced on TV at all.

I love that at Night of Champions, the main event is a non-title match and one of the championship matches was added to the card after the last TV.

the IC belt is so insignificant now that they were unable to build up any storyline, not even a one day feud to fulfill their "every title is defended" gimmick... how sad. i remember when it actually meant something

The storyline's been there for weeks. They just never bothered to announce the match.

So I just watched Raw, and laughed at how Triple H segued from Punk's argument about "the business and the wrestlers that deserve a push" to "this is about you and me AND THIS IS PERSONAL."

Also, Bret coming out to the ring to Cena's music is a slap to the face of any wrestling fan.

Despite that, the only match I look forward at NoC is HHH-Punk: a victory for HHH because of an interference from Diesel. I predict Del Rio to win because Cena needs to take a break from being in the title picture all the time.

The Rock has been confirmed for Survivor Series, where he'll apparently team with John Cena.

On one hand, it's better if The Rock's in-ring return is delayed until the match with Cena to continue to build anticipation. However, it's a great selling point for Survivor Series and could further the build to Rock/Cena in its own right.

I think it's fine. One can screw the other on the SS match itself to further build their feud that's so far only being held on YouTube/Twitter.

It seems likely. It's a bit predictable but it's tried and true all the same. I'm all for The Rock making a few more live/in-ring appearances to help further the angle and to see him back in the WWE in general.

Great spot. For even more fun this time around, one of them can haul Michael Cole from behind the desk and bounce his head off the stairs. As tired as I am of Cole, it never gets old when they have him get his ass kicked.

The Rock, the belt design, Michael Cole actually half-decent on commentary and copping abuse...those were the days. (Y)

There aren't enough Cornette Faces in the world to describe that PPV.

So Cena won again. HIS TWELFTH. really? Really? REALLY?!? I bet he's gonna beat Flair's sixteen. HE'S GONNA GO TWENTY! Fuck this I mean. This is getting stale. He's got twelve world titles in his nine-year career. Shawn's got only four in his twenty-something years. Then again, the title has no value now.

Del Rio wasn't even established as champion.

This is too much. The past two PPVs were good not because of Cena losing but because of the unpredictability.

At least Henry is World Champ, and I was right about the HHH-Punk match.

John freakin' Cena. You did it man, so proud of you. WORD LIFE.

So Truth breaks up the pin to prevent HHH from losing after he and Miz tried to do exactly that a couple of minutes before - cost HHH the match?

As much as I thought Del Rio's rise to the top was very forced and his championship reign nothing special, Cena being champ is just stale, like his character and the way it's booked in general. Between Cena and Orton, the angles surrounding the major belts in the company are not nearly as interesting as they should be. Punk and Christian should have had longer reigns, they're the characters that are fresher and as over as anyone else in the company right now. Sadly, those angles were hotshotted. Too bad.

In years gone by I wouldn't have been that high up on Henry winning the world title, but I'd say he's earned it. He's as over as he's ever been with his current monster heel gimmick/booking and even though he's been in some really bad angles over the years, he's also been in the title picture before and is a decent worker for a big man, head and shoulders above the likes of The Great Khali. I think you could give him a few months as a dominant heel champion, though I wouldn't be surprised to see Orton win back the belt much sooner. Like the situation with Cena, that's overdone and ho-hum. But good for Henry.

I'm not sure what to make of Punk/HHH. It still feels like they dropped the ball with Punk by shifting him from the title picture to this angle with HHH. I guess there's some intrigue with the question of Nash's allegiance but even then the likely "swerve" is predictable. It's produced some good promos from Punk but even they're getting a bit repetitive. It's a shame, they had a really good thing going but it's like they panicked, hotshotted the angle and went back to the stale status quo. The angle still has potential, but the booking on all the major storylines could be a lot better right now. It's a letdown after MITB.

That's the summary of what I feel right now.

During Punk's series of good promos on Raw -- schooling Cena and Triple H, I thought the creative team made it a point to who are the guys to push. Seems that I was wrong after all.

They just don't seem to be willing or able to book Cena out of the title picture for a little while. Same with Orton and they were doing it with Edge as well. It's not that they should never be champion again (well, Edge obviously won't be) but it's resulted in too many of the same main events, far too many short reigns for the same individuals and on the whole, a stale product.
