I'm not living in America, but my uncle does live there.

Anyways, what gaming PC will be good for NBA 2k11 and other high-end games. And you can uh.. suggest parts, especially motherboard, and cooling fan, and show the prices too. Thanks.

Let it be. You're looking for PC parts that will give you the best 2K11 performance that may also help others who want the same for their 2K11 experience, which makes this thread ok to be in the general 2K11 section imo. The presence of this thread in this section will also be more visible to 2K11 users since not all of them visit General Talk.

You can check out review sites for hardware.
Like tom's hardware.
You can check other sites as well. The more 'geekier' the site probably better.

Philippines. Quezon City. I'm looking at malls, especially at SM north(nearest I can get), I want to go to Gilmore Avenue(As far as I know, this place has full of computer parts store which is great but it's too far though.)

So ummm...I saw this pamphlet yesterday. And it only costs 21,388.00 Pesos or 500+ dollars cuz 1 dollar= 42 pesos, I think.

It's a packaged

Nvidia/Amd chiipset motherboard (Not sure what brand it is)
4GB DDR3 1333 RAM *branded memory* (Could be Kingston,etc)
500GB SATA 7200RPM HDD
1GB Nvidia GeForce GT440 DDR5 PCIE
ATx Case w/ 600 watts power supply
5.1 integrated sound
10/100 integrated network card
AMD Phenom II x6 1055T 2.80Ghz.

Same specs but with AMD Athlon II x4 640 3.0ghz...costs 16,338.00 pesos. 400 dollars.

Same specs but with AMD Phenom II x4 955 3.2GHZ. costs 19,168.00 pesos. almost 500 dollars. (Odd that it only add .2 ghz and it costs 300 more.)

I'm from Philippines too, from Pampanga.

The parts you mention are quite good and the price is good too. I bought my parts from Enigma Tech, great parts, GREAT customer service, good price too. Although I'm not sure if they have stores there.

I have a slightly lower specs than those included in the package and I can play the newest pc games on very high but not max setting w/o lag. On 2k11 I have max settings except anti-aliasing is off and crowd is at medium.

Will you post your specs? I really want to get the hexa core.:D Well, I'm a gamer, nto that hardcore, cuz I only play games when I record myself playing it. *Coughlookatmyyoutubeaccount*

Games I wanted to play:
Splinter Cell: Conviction
Dead Island(NOT YET RELEASED)
Fallout or Skyrim
NBA 2k11/2k12

It will be a dream come true to have a monster PC.

I've gone too far, i guess.

Anyways, do they have a site?

My specs:
Amd Athlon X3 2.9 Ghz (3 cores)
Gefore 9500gt 1g 128bit Video Card
4G RAM

Here are some screens of what my nba 2k11 looks like

It depends really on your budget on how far you can go with a pc when it comes to performance. And a quad core processor will do for gaming, just save the money and buy the best video card your money can buy. 4-8G of RAM is more than enough. And also don't forget to buy a power supply with more than 500w, coz high performance means high power consumption or else your pc will overheat. Most pc cases have their own power supplies but those are only 500w. I have a 600w power supply. And also a nice cooling system, extra case fans, upgraded cpu/video card fans and heat sinks, air conditioning if you can afford the electric bill. A cool pc means better performance and lesser chance of damage to you hardware.

BTW just search Enigma Technologies on Google, they have a site there and just download the pdf file for their pricelist.

It's not.
MRT, get off Taft. Ride LRT 1, get off Doroteo Jose. Ride LRT 2, get off Gilmore. Done.
It might be far but it's faster and more comfortable than riding a jeepney. A bus may be more comfortable but the rail transit is still faster.
Just don't go during rush hour. Moving mosh pit! Try riding at 10am-3pm to avoid it.

I can't go without a company.

@sideways: That looks pretty neat. How much was that PC? And it says it has 600w power supply.

Oh, the package has free keyboard, mouse, speaker and 500w AVR. I just need an operating system.

EDIT: No branch here in NCR.-.-

But like I said, I'm not focusing on NBA 2k11 only. But yeah, I think that's a good info. I thought dual core was outdated now.

Well actually most new games like the nba 2k11 are optimized using dual core processors, so a quad core pc will be enough. Just save the money to buy a better video card. Having a 4 core processor w/ a higher video card is better than an i7 processor with a lower video card when it comes to gaming. The graphics part of gaming is mostly controlled by the video card. I have a friend who has an i5 processor but a lower video card than me and he says that my pc seems to be faster in gaming than his. And I was only using 2k11 as an example since it requires similar system requirement with newer games. Just look at lebob23's post and you'll see what i mean.

Try searching tips on the net about choosing a good processor for gaming I'm sure you will learn a lot from there. When it comes to video cards buy the best your money can buy. RAM 4-8 G. Hard disk 500g will be enough. Buy a power supply with at least 550w. The power supply is inside the pc case not the avr.

I bought the whole thing at around 21K php ( including 5.5k aoc led monitor and P800 cumputer rack and less other accessories also) and bought it more than a year ago, parts are much cheaper now. So the pc itself is just around less than 15 k, again this was last year.

You should too. Unquote it.

@sideways: Then I guess the AMD Athlon II X4 package is enough. I have a question, is L3 cache really necessary? Because if it is, I would just buy the six core. And the GeForce GT440 is a good video card, imo.

Well I'm really not an expert w/ L3 cache, but here is a link that might help you decide http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/athlon-l3-cache,2416.html

My advise to you would be instead of buying a whole pc package, try buying it by parts so you can choose the parts that you like. Ask the store clerks for their available parts and choose from them, I'm sure they will help you choose the parts that are compatible w/ each other and w/c has the best performance. They would assemble it for you I'm sure anyways those package are just parts from their inventory that they assembled. Just compare the prices and performance between the package and just buying parts and decide from there.

Postby karlsanada10 on Sat Aug 20, 2011 2:47 pm

Well, I have chosen parts, my problem is, they kinda cost too much than the package.-.-

So what I want is:

AMD Phenom II x6 1055T 2.8Ghz P7800
BIOSTAR A880G+ AM3 AMD 880G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard P2650
Kingston 4GB DDR3 P1100
Samsung 500GB 7200RPM Sata P1950
Can't choose in video card(Should I get Ati Radeon HD 6850 which cost P8700 or the 5770 which cost P5700)?

Or

I could get Nvidia GT440 which cost P3100 or GT460SE DDR5 256-bit which cost P7600

Onion Black Knight ATX 600PSU P1180 (Can't see a PIC. Hopefully it's big but it doesn't matter, they have same price anyway)
Suggest a nice cpu cooling(if it's needed. My room is damn hot, jsyk.)
Another question, what's a UPS? It comes with an AVR, I think. But I think Orion/ Trendsonic 600W PSU P600 is fine, right? (AVR onyl)

So all in all is 20K+?

Just ask for a list of the available video cards were you're buying and choose the best one your money can afford. 20-25k is enough I think. About cooling. You can buy liquid cooling systems if want to all out but those are bulky and expensive. Just buy a couple or more fans you can fit to your pc housing and install. Try to install them were in some fans blow air in to the pc and some blow out the air so that the air circulates. Speaking of PC housings find big one's bec. some parts esp. the high end ones are large and for cooling purposes also.
