10 of the 12 NLSCers declared for the NBA Draft wore an NBA jersey for the first time in competition last night, and didn't disappoint. All of them looked sharp in an intrasquad scrimmage that was open to the media in the AT&T Center. “It was tough at the beginning, then they found their rhythms,” said Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich. "That speed is totally different than high school speed and college speed.” Spurs assistant Mike Budenholzer added, “Two of them are big men, but both can really make plays. That's what surprised us the most. Then, all 10 of them have great instincts. There's things that you can't teach, but most of them can do already, and there are things that we can teach that can make them even better. All have the potential to be outstanding players in this league.”

Duke's Will Sit, Syracuse's Chris Hova, Kentucky's Jeff Williams, Georgia Tech's Martti Must and Michigan State's Dolph Lundgren Jr. squared off against Baylor's Willie Lewis, Texas' Axel Gomez, Ohio State's Julian Martin, North Carolina's Leo Lai and Connecticut's Zee Otoo. Villanova's Kevin Johnson and Georgetown's Jesrie Calimbas were unavailable. It was a good day for Lundgren and Martin, as they led their teams in scoring. Afterwards, all earned praise from Spurs owner Thierry Tirieux, when asking who stood out. “I thought they all had a nice day today. They did some really nice things. I liked what Lewis brought running the ball. I thought Dolph really showed up with his dunking. Julian showed a lot of courage when going to the basket.”

Popovich said he wanted to try to see every aspect of the game today, though that's hard sometimes in the controlled scrimmage setting. “Some of them have a real unique style for the game. Today was a real big step for the team. I thought it was great playing in the true AT&T Center court and not in a gym court. It was good for the kids to give them something new, a little bit different and to spice up this offseason basketball.” Asked what he wants to get done in the coming practices, Budenholzer said: “We will have to assess that after looking at the scrimmage video. We'll try to find a few things to focus in on what we need to get done. Through it all there are plenty of things to work on, it's just a matter of picking exactly what it is so we have a real focus to what the next couple of days are going to be before the Draft.”

Ben Rollins, you coud use a good backup guard/forward.

Yeah, good backup for Maggs and Anderson. Ben will spend some time in the D-League, though.

Popov would be a huge addition to your team if you would be able to pick him

Yeah but I don't really wanna run Windows on my mac as I'll have to buy virus protection and I could get viruses. Also I don't really like playing with a keyboard. Maybe some day in the future I'll buy a good laptop and an xbox 360 controller for PC.

Yeah, I think going to a better team has its cons too. You'd be Derrick's first backup, you have a better rating that CJ Watson, IIRC.
