Court designs by Badger - 2011-12 Style

Postby Murat on Tue Jul 05, 2011 4:26 pm

Hi folks! I decided to make vector courts from former years. Here is the first team, Seattle SuperSonics.

McDaniel, Kemp, Payton, Gill and others era (1984-1995):
Image
Changes: Turned to the real colors of franchise at court, green and yellow.

1996 NBA Finals run and the real Payton era (1996-2001):
Image
Changes: The new color scheme, including dark red.

This court included the time of Ray Allen, Rashard Lewis and Desmond Mason (2002-2006):
Image
Changes: Turning to real colors again, but at the whole artwork (logo, jersey etc.)

The last years of Seattle including Chris Wilcox, Kevin Durant and Jeff Green (2007-2008):
Image
Changes: KeyArena logo changed, added "supersonics.com" ad.

This time I made the courts of Hornets franchise.

The era of first Hornets team (D. Curry, Rambis, Chapman etc.) (1989-1990):
Image
Changes: A simple court of Hornets, based on turquise.

Time of L. Johnson, Mourning, Bogues and Gill (1990-1996)
Image
Changes: Added purpleish blue, looks better.

1997 All-Star MVP Glen Rice, Baron Davis, Jamal Mashburn's times. This is the last court design of Hornets franchise in Charlotte (1996-2002)
Image
Changes: Added 2 ball designs on court, the colored parts are based on a gradient.

The first Hornets court design before Katrina hurricane, the era of Wesley, Davis and Mashburn (2002-2005):
Image
Changes: The gradients are gone, just there are 3 colored parts (2 of them are turquise and 1 of them is purple).

Rookie Chris Paul's era, Oklahoma City Hornets "NOK" (2005-2007):
Image
Changes: The turquise part on out of the lines were changed to wood colour. There are no purple parts.

The All-Star Weekend was at New Orleans that year, also Chris Paul almost became MVP that year (2007-2008):
Image
Changes: There were not so much changes, just Hornets moved to New Orleans again and some logos changed.

The new design of New Orleans, time of David West, Okafor and Ariza (2008-...)
Image
Changes: The part out of bounds became turquise, more colourful than 2008. Hornets also changed their jerseys that year.

Here comes the courts of Boston Celtics...

The first court of Boston Celtics. Red Auerbach-Bill Russell-Bob Cousy era. (1950's, 1960's):
Image
Changes: Very simple. Out of bounds area is green.

The times of 1970's and Bird era until Boston Garden demolished. (1970's-1995):
Image
Changes: Added Boston Celtics logo to the middle of the court.

Fleet Center times when Antoine Walker and Paul Pierce were young (1995-2005):
Image
Changes: Bye to Boston Garden, FleetCenter logo added.

TD Banknorth Garden, Paul Pierce is way better than early 2000's (2005-2010):
Image
Changes: FleetCenter broke sponsorship, it changed to TD Banknorth Garden.

TD Garden, Rajon Rondo's era as TD Banknorth Garden's name changed (2010-...):
Image
Changes: TD Banknorth Garden is now TD Garden.

This time, there are the courts of Pistons.

Detroit Pistons's first court design at Pontiac Silverdome (1978-1983):
Image
Changes: This court doesn't have any blue parts.

The second (and last) design at Silverdome. Era of Isiah Thomas, Bill Laimbeer and Kelly Tripucka (1983-1988):
Image
Changes: We see the logo of Pistons and some blue areas.

BAD BOYS!!! The Bad Boys of Pistons used to play at this court. Zeke's prime (1988-1996):
Image
Changes: Moved to The Palace, but court is similar to the previous design.

The prime of Grant Hill and Jerry Stackhouse. New colors. (1996-2001):
Image
Changes: Colors changed from red-blue to turquise-dark red, also the logo changed too.

Return to old school, it also includes the new Bad Boys (Billups, Rip, Sheed etc.) (2001-2005):
Image
Changes: Looks like the early 1990's court, but logos are different.

Main logo is changed and the Bad Boys broke up. (2005-2007, 2008-...):
Image
Changes: Primary logo changed, added the "nba.com" and "pistons.com" ads with the retired numbers.

My favorite of Pistons with turquise one. 50th anniversary court (2007-2008):
Image
Changes: The bench and fan sides area are changed to blue from red.

the 97 hornets had a honeycomb pattern inside the key and the basketball design in the free throw area is incorrect.

and the lakers had at least more more design between 91 & 99 when the color of the forum silhouette is purple and when Great Western Bank went out of business. and it said "Los Angeles Lakers" inside of the yellow circle at center court.

and just to let you know, the charge/block semi circles were dotted at one point and did not exist before the 90's

Those pink Pistons court are terrible.
Repeat all courts that were before 2000, they don't have the restricted area (that curved line inside the paint).

shadowgrin, i fixed them now but i'll share them tonight.

Here are the courts of Dan Gilbert's and Kyrie Irving's Cavaliers!

The very first court of Cavaliers. I liked that one a lot. (1970-1973):
Image

The second one at Richfield. The Richfield Miracle was at that period. (1973-1983):
Image

A turn to blue-orange from red-yellow. That looks not so good to me.(1983-1994):
Image

When Gund family bought the Cavaliers, they changed the colors of team too. That's a nice one too. (1994-1996):
Image

Colors didn't change but the out of bounds area is black. (1996-2003):
Image

This is the court of rookie LeBron James's period with wine and gold. (2003-2005):
Image:

Dan Gilbert, the CEO of Quicken Loans bought the Cavaliers and the name changed to Quicken Loans Arena. You can see the "cavs.com" ads too. (2005-2006):
Image

With this court design, LeQueer James won 2 MVP awards. (2006-2010):
Image

Cavaliers restarted after the betrayal of LeQueer James. Kyrie and Tristan will play on this court (2010-...):
Image

Thanks to cavshistory.com for sources. Especially on 1995 and 1982 ones.
