use the decompress.exe that comes with the iff editor 2k9 beta

so I just downloaded the MOD Tool, but I can't figure out how to actually edit any of the files, I can load the files, decompress them and everything.....just wondering how do I make edits..... do I need another program?

you need to export res to export a dds file, then edit it with photoshop or gimp or some other image editor

can somebody give me a direct link to 0.15? I mean I'm no Chinese but it pretty much says that it's 0.16 in the Chinese site. They must've remove the older versions.

Can someone please help me because the Modtool was working perfectly fine for me but when i run it now it tells me to select which game. I select 2011 like before...so then im waiting for it to load but it doesnt....What should i do? ty for the help

I just ran into this problem as well. There was a Java update on 2/16/11, not sure if that has something to do with it, (by the date of Rangez' post I'm doubting it). I'm not getting any error messages and javaw.exe shows up in the task manager, multiple times if I continue to try and start the mod tool. I'll try rolling back or reinstalling java and see how it goes.

Update: Uninstall, restart, reinstall corrected this issue. (Y) *For a minute. Please read on.

Update #2: Here's the deal. I have a 64 bit system and the Mod Tool runs on the 32 bit version of Java, (JRE Java Runtime Environment). Due to this, I have both versions installed. When I updated JRE, I went with the 32 bit version first and followed with the 64 bit version. That is where things go wrong. It appears that updating in this order changes the default program to run Java Applications, or at least the Mod Tool, to the 64 bit version which the Mod Tool will not run on.

Solution:
1. Update the 32 bit version last if you have 64 bit version as well.
2. If you happen to update the 64 bit version last, just reinstall the 32 bit version.

I want use this program to convert tattoos from Derrick Rose to my player .So I have questions ,Where I must export files after editing Derrick Rose png? MP face hack does not work after the patch

Having the same trouble some others were with this..

Uninstalled Java, restarted, Installed, and its still not opening. It asks which game I have then sits in task manager. What exactly am I doing wrong? Im on 32 bit Windows by the way

you gotta import what it exports, so usually dds files, dxt1 or dxt5 compression with mipmaps

can you please tell me how to import 2k10 cyberface into 2k11

i tried all of this:

1. export ***.n2km file from 2k10 png***.iff file and than tried to import it to 2k11 png.iff but it said
"java.io.IOException: Model Part Is Not Maching"

2. tried with blender 2.49b to import Face.006 from 2k10 png.cff to Face.006 of 2k11 png.cff but still nothing

anyone have solution?

you arent going to be able to import the 3d stuff, only textures

hey guys i am getting the hang of mod tool but i am having an issue importing custom made court logos into modtool. i use photoshop (or gimp) and take an image, save as a DDS file, generate 8 mipmaps with the "automatic" setting. it generates and looks fine but when i try to import it into a DDS slot in a f###.iff file with mod tool, the picture doesn't look right. (all glitchy and what not) is there something i'm doing wrong? i heard it's important to keep the same dimensions and settings as the DDS files you export from completed courts, but not quite sure how to keep the format the same as the working exported DDS when i use my custom logo picture. are there any hints to generating modtool compatible DDS files from regular picture files?

in Gimp there is an option for mipmap filter when saving a DDS : default, nearest, box, bilinear, bicubic, or lanczos. What should i set it to? Compression is set to None, and format is set to default. i'm not sure if its better to use gimp or photoshop to generate DDS files so i can import custom logos onto courts in mod tool. any help would be greatly appreciated.

you need to change the compression to either dxt1 or dxt 5, depending on what the mod tool tells you about the texture in the bottom of the editor
