Can I change a pick? I'm watching the Blazers play and it's only the second quarter and Ratliff has 4 or 5 blocks.

I'm changing it unless you say I cant.

ruffryder8, You can change your picks...I don't mind.

And to the ppl who are complaining that there aren't certain players on the shortlist- that's because, I got another post up 2 weeks ago asking for you to nominate players...and the five most mentioned players/coaches were put on the shortlist...and thats how I'm gonna do this so if u have a problem....just pm me....

Today, I will announce NLSC's Unofficial 2003-04 NBA Season's Coach of the Year!

Here are the results of the voting:

Third Place Votes:

Jerry Sloan had 7 out of a possible 24 which equates to 30%. Rick Carlisle had 25% (6 out of 24), Porter with 21% (5 out of 24) and Jeff B had 4 out of 24 possible third place votes ( 17%).

Second Place Votes:

Jerry Sloan had 30% of the votes. Rick Carisle had 25% while Hubie Brown had 21% of second place votes.

First Place Votes:

This is what really decided the award winner... even though Jerry SLoan led all candidates in the third and second place votes criteria - first place votes weren't shared by all the candidates.

Though Sloan had 7 out of a possible 24 first place votes (30%...again), Hubie Brown decimated Sloan with an impressive 58% of votes. Drawing most of the majority, which turns out to be 14 out of 24, in the category of first place votes- this enables Hubie Brown to have a high chance of winning the award!

Rounding up first place votes was Rick Carisle with 12%.

Evaluation:

One thing that I can see now, is that everyone seemed to have decided that Hubie Brown should win it this year and gave him their first place vote. After that, it seems that Jerry Sloan and Rick Carisle shared the rest of the votes.

AND THE WINNER OF NLSC'S UNOFFICIAL COACH OF THE YEAR AWARD GOES TO..... Hubie Brown OF the Memphis Grizzlies!

Hubie has propelled the Grizz to their Franchise's first 50 win season and has them in the playoffs for the first time too! Coach Brown's strtegy of having a 10-man rotaion with no player playing over 32 mpg has seen them succeed with a team- some may argue- consisting of a bunch of nobodies....

Coming away from the absenses of Karl Malone and John Stockton and coming in with a new team...Jerry Sloan and the Jazz have finished the NBA season as a strong team and a big surprise to critics and the League. Amid injures and the loss of two of their cornerstone players, the Utah Jazz only 'just' missed the playoffs. That is why Jerry Sloan came second in voting this season...although it is a dissapointment that he hasn't won the award in the 19 years or so he has coached the Jazz (But this again isn't the real results for the NBA!)

Congratualtions to Hubie Brown and good luck to himn for the real award.

FINAL STANDINGS:

On a points basis:

5. Jeff B (Denver Nuggets) - 8 points
4. Terry Porter (Milwaukee Bucks) - 11 points
3. Rick Carisle (Indiana Pacers) - 27 points
2. Jerry Slan (Utah Jazz) - 42 points
1. Hubie Brown (Memphis Grizzlies) - 54 points
