Hex Editing: Court Colors and Reflections

Postby johndoe22 on Sun Oct 17, 2010 12:22 pm

First,

Download Edit Pad Pro, open it up. At the top click Search, and then Show Search Panel. It will pop up at the bottom. In the top box copy and paste this FFFFFFFF000000000000000000000000FFFFFFFF

and then find first.............ITS SHOULD LOOK LIKE THIS - everything below that highlighted area is the entire court

Image

Ok now Exit out of the search, You will see an x on the bottom right hand corner. and then scroll up a little. just enough so that your highlighted area is still visible on screen ..............like this

Image

Ok let do some business now

Image

ok the entire portion of the screen you are looking at is the OUT OF BOUNDS AREA UNDER THE BASKET. There are 5 section

1. Thats Floor Reflection during the actual game

2. Thats Floor Reflection during the intro

3. The Floor Reflection -Turn OFF setting during actual game - meaning ......no need to touch it

4. The Floor Reflection -Turn OFF setting during intro - meaning...........no need to touch it

5 Last is The Color Code. You can play with those number i have circled or you can just extract a color from another court

Then the cycle repeats itself as you scroll down into another portion of the court. You can work on the rest yourself. This is just a basic outline of it so you can understand it batter

Thanks: stickied for convenience

Are you planning on doing a tut for uniforms and global shadowing? If so did you want to keep it in the same topic?
Opinions are my own.

If i do one for jerseys, I will start a new thread.

Global Shadowing is a bit complicated, i sort of got lucky with it. But jersey occlusion shouldn't be too difficult to comprehend

Well u have to learn how hex numbers work, in this case just change the 80 3f that i have the arrows pointed at to D0 40. I suggest u use original bulls court, as the layout is simple

Nicely done! (Y)

Though, do all the courts have the same structure?
If yes, there is a possibility to make a friendly editor...

its usually the out of bounds area first, then the wooden floor areas, and then the remainer of the colors......... starting with the paint, then the sideline, and ending with line colors. This is the basic order most of the time. But it could be different on some files

color codes from 2k10 should work with 2k11 files. but the structure for 2k10 has a different look.
