Kobe injured his shoulder in the first quarter last night against seattle. The lakers did win with shaq scoring 33 pts. Test results will probably be out Sunday.

Thanks alot Ray, first you complain about Bruce Bowen´s dirty defensive plays, then you go out there and pull on his arm the whole 1st minute. Class act
I hope it was just sore and it didnt actually made any damage

He ran into reggie evans 54 seconds into the 1st.

Ray Allen was pulling on his shoulder the whole time, also when he ran into that screen. I seriously believe that if #34 wouldnt pull it, then he would be just fine

Not too good, hopefully it's just sore and there is no tearing.

Nice win by the Lakers though. Everyone seemed to step up in Kobe's absence.

lol yeah nice work ray

of course it couldnt be kobe's fault for not looking where where he was going, it must be ray allens fault. I mean, if ray wasn't that good of a shooter, then kobe wouldn't have had to deny him so hard. Dam you ray, damn you!

You have no idea what you are talking about, if Allen wouldnt pull/hold his arm like that, then he would be all ok.
Sun Mar 07, 2004 7:44 am
ESPN just confirmed that he could be out for a month
Link
He was optimistic when he came in this morning, which is a very good sign," Jackson said. "He felt that he would be back in a few games, so he thought it was nothing like the last time when he had to sit out."
Im happy that hes not out for the season or needs surgery. The Lakers schedule will be tough without him with teams such as Minnesota, Sacramento and New Orleans out there, but Malone should be back in a week or 2 so atleast its not all bad news

I saw the play like 5 or 6 times, espn made a huge deal about it, calling it "disaster for the lakers". Its not like ray allen grabbed his arm and pulled him into reggie evans. Poor kobe.. being picked on by big bad ray allen.. hey if kobe cant handle himself against ray allen, whats he going to do in jail?
Sun Mar 07, 2004 8:45 am
No he didnt pull him to the screen, Kobe was trying to hold him down so that Allen couldnt get the ball. Evans bumped into him and Allen just kept pulling on his arm.

Poor Kobe...at least Rush will get to improve while Kobe's gone....maybe Karl and Kobe could return together...(Depending on how bad Kobe's shoulder is!)
Sun Mar 07, 2004 7:43 pm
LOL @ Matthew. Funny bastard.
I've always liked Ray Allen

Too bad for Kobe and the lake show. I'm sure they'll survive though. Shaq and Payton in the past would have been more than enough to succeed, they should still be enough.

Poor kobe. Anyways has anyone noticed kobe doing the face-up bankshot thing like duncan does?...
Sun Mar 07, 2004 10:03 pm
Kobe's nightmare season continues. If I were him, I wouldn't try to rush back. His absence will hurt the Lakers and I'm sure he wants to be out there on the floor (to distract himself from his legal situation if nothing else), but some injuries aren't worth playing through. Come playoff time the Lakers will need him to be healthy. Even if it sets the Lakers back a little now, I think he should sit if the injury is severe.
Take Grant Hill as an example of a player who came back a little earlier than he should, and has been paying for it every season since.

Yeah, he said that during every All-Star weekend, hes learning moves from other players and add them to his own list. The shots are falling so thats good

This just means more time for Kobe to work on his left hand, which he has been using a lot lately.
Tue Mar 09, 2004 4:22 am
Get well soon Kobe
Ray would never do something like that on purpose.

Kobe is back tonight against Boston.

Yep. He better not get injured again or I will...........
Go KB8!

He seems to be doing okay. It's more of Payton and Shaq taking over and Kobe's getting most of his points from the line, wearing something that looks like a biker jersey with a sleeve on only one arm.
Thu Mar 11, 2004 6:39 pm
Kobe was wearing a protective sleeved shirt to kind of support his shoulder...
He scored 18 points and had 10 assists...letting Shaq and Payton do most of the damage...(28 points? for shaq and 10 for Payton)...although he cored on 4/16 shooting...
Go K8!

Its great to see him back on the team so quickly. At first I heard some stuff about Malone playing some minutes to warm up for the Minnesota game, to bad he didnt play. Kobe yet again 10 assists.......selfish?
