Your Player (2K11 Edition)

Talk about NBA 2K11 here.

Your Player (2K11 Edition)

Postby Lamrock on Sat Oct 09, 2010 8:54 am

The sequel to the thread from 2K10. Post your My Player game here.

My player is a 6'11", 250 lb athletic PF/C (that the game seems to think is a combo forward). Not too far in because I absolutely suck at the mode, but its fun, albeit unbelievably frustrating. Here's hoping I make the NBA.

My Player

My player is a 6'2" all round PG from Duke. So far I have blitzed the draft combine and got drafted early 2nd round (after being projected 29th pick) to who else but.... the Heat. What a lucky draft day it was for me. I impressed the coaching staff and straight away became the 2nd string pg off the bench to rest d-wade. So far i am averaging around 16mins (8min qtrs) with 6 points, 4 ast and 3 rebs a game. It seems as though only 4 games in to the season I have been promoted to 6th man. My player is a 43 overall rating.

We (the Heat) are undefeated after 4 games and are looking impressive.

Will keep you all updated!

Jordan Temple, 6'8", 230lbs Small Forward from UCLA.

He did well during the Draft Combine, being drafted 25th overall by Memphis after being projected 26th. Currently 3-3 with the Grizz in the season, averaging about 8 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and a couple blocks a game. My addition to the team means a lot of small ball for the Grizz, with me playing PF with either Gasol or Randolph at center. So much fun, and enjoying it immensely!

Do you actually sign contracts and stuff this year? Last year I would get say a 10 contract and then maybe another but it would never tell me. Or when you made an NBA team you would never sign a contract for X amount of years. Can you also choose to have a shorter season length?

Can say that again. I hate My Player mode, I don't know why I play it as much as I do. I guess just to see where it goes...

Anyways, I started off with a 6'1" 3PT Specialist PG. I got drafted by Memphis, which was cool. Then I raged about 15 games in and deleted that player.

Started up again with a 6'10 athletic center, similar to your player, Lamrock. I got drafted by Minnesota.
I played the minimum amount of games you have to finish before asking for a trade. I chose Cleveland, OKC, and Charlotte. They sent me to Cleveland for Jawad Williams.

My first game in Cleveland I got injured, which is actually a cool feature. I twisted my ankle and was given the option to sit on the bench and let my injury heal or to play through it. I decided to play through it, I don't know if it's because I was hit with an ankle injury or if all injuries do this, but if I would run (not sprint) around the midcourt area, he'd limp instead. So it kind of forces you to use your sprint there, draining your stamina much faster then it would normally.

I played 3 games injured then I was healed for the big game against Miami. In those 4 games I'm averaging 16.2ppg, 17.7rpg.

There's so many bad calls and things that don't make any sense in my player mode. It still needs a lot of work, I'm hoping next year they make it their main focus.

My best game so far (most skill points without 2x multiplier):
Image

Stat line for that game: 35pts, 16reb (7oreb), 2 assists, 2 blocks, 1 turnover, 12/22 FG, 11/11 FT

Pretty cool because after that game, Jordan sent me a message about sponsoring me. Then I got a message about how the coach is making me a floor general (allowing me to make plays). I actually thought that the playmaking was somehow left out of My Play mode, so that was a pleasant surprise!

Last 6 games: 20.3ppg, 16.7rpg

Will Sit, 5'7" 170 lbs, All-Around PG

I play on 3 minute quarters. Have never played this mode before so it was all-new to me.

Got drafted in second round by Miami. Didn't make the team, sent to D-League. After a couple of really shitty games, I got a message from Jordan saying that they wanted to sponsor me. Then I got picked up by the Heat after a 10 point game. They gave me a 10-day contract. I played shit for the first team... a couple of doughnuts. Had an 8 point game in my 5th game, when they decided to sign me for the rest of the season. Demanded a trade to the Lakers. Got traded for Fisher.

Became a starter in LA. Was great in my first quarter of Lakers action with 2 points, 3 assists, 1 rebound. Finished the game with 2 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists and a D+. The following game was against the Heat... I scored double digits in that one. A few games later, came up against Chris Paul. Finished with a career high 21 points. Don't forget the league leader scores about 9-10 ppg in 3 minute quarters so 21 is pretty damn awesome. :)

Getting bored of the mode because it's fairly unrealistic and repetitive. I don't think I can do all 82 games either.

honestly this is why sports games shouldnt have thesetype of modes becuase it never will be the real thing it will always get repetitive becuase the generalpurpose is 2 just play ball and nothing else.

on a sidenote ithink u need 2 sim some games.

What does it take to get Jordan to send you a message?

Makes me wanna play My Player again..

I just came off a heart breaker yesterday (on 2K10 while I just recently got for a month now), I was doing so good as a PF in my 1st Season with the Houston Rockets. We won the Final Playoffs Series 4-0 with me grabbing an Offensive Rebound at the 3 seconds mark when the score was tied at 73-73 and making the Game Winning Shot, with Kevin Garnet, Paul Pierce, and Kendrik Perkins around me, at the final second leaving the Celtics with 0.5 seconds on the clock. I got the Finals MVP Award at 59 Overall..
Then my dream of becoming a Starter with Yao Ming SHATTERED. Houston Rockets signed Carlos Boozer!#$@#$!#!@# for a 5 year deal..

My latest Backup Save was before the Celtics Series, but that would mean putting my epic Game 4 Performance to dust, something I'm not able to live with.

I still cannot get over it.. currently playing L4D2 to pass time..

I created a PG, 5'11", passing first, who looks quite like me. :) Though, he was from Arizona. :) My perfomance was average during the Draft Combine, so i was projected 4-3-2 picks of the second round. Although in the game against John Wall, i outperformed him, he was drafted 1st overall ))) i was drafted by Portland with the 4th Pick of 2nd Round. :)
PS: Actually, during Draft Combine i always played with a bunch of idiots, who didn't care about passing at all, bigmen ran to 3pt line with the ball too often and SGs-SFs liked to attack the basket, crushing into opponent's Centers. So, we lost all 3 games. :)

After the Draft i played only one game against SAS, getting B+ teamgrade, so looking forward to the next games for Portland (though, i'd like to be traded to the Suns ;) ).

Drafted 1st round pick 29 to the Orlando Magic, I have yet to play a summer league game, I really suck at the mode I'm a all round PG in the Draft Combine the only way I got into the first round was because of my assist totals thanks to the Pick and Rolls with Cousins and Favors lol I think I averaged 9 points 11 assists and 2 rebounds with like 1 steal shooting 30 percent (Ikr) and I never hit a three ft percentage was like 90 percent, I gotta say Jordans free throw style is easy as piss to learn.

Well created 186 cm (6'2" like [in my country we use centimeters]) and 95 kg (210 lbs) looking similar to me. I chose SG 3pt Specialist.
Well 3 first matches at Draft Combine were a little retarded
To 3 quarter my team was losing by 6-8 points and then defenders of opposite team were leaving me so I was shooting multiple 3 pters
I was drafted as 2nd in 2nd round by Heat...
Then I had summer circuit, matches were like in Draft Combine, 3 quarters of stupid plays and wasted possesions ended with 3-4 threes in 2 min quarter
I joined Heat's NBA team, 3 matches: lost with Boston, won with 76ers and lost with Magic.
Well 2 games needed to transfer everywhere else. I will try to get to Bulls or Phoenix.
I'll write more after I played some :)

@edit
The game with Magic was Key Game. Got -190 skill points >.>

So, I have 6'3 SG All-Around from Poland, his weight is 195 lbs. Draft: 2nd round 4th Pick by Portland, Now (after 8 games Regular Season ) I'm 6th Man; 22 minutes. I told them (PTB), that I want trade to Bulls, and now (from 5th game until 8th game now) I haven't any answer. My worst value is FG%, because I've got some cracked pad, and I going to go to store tomorrow, to replace pad. Which pad has best quality (answers to PM, please) ?

My guy is 5'7". I doubt it. :P

But i do play 3 minute quarters. So if you make it 12 minute quarters, my averages would be 4fold... so about 3.8 ppg and 1.2 apg.
