Tayshaun Prince thorugh the legs

Sat Feb 14, 2004 1:58 pm

WHo just saw him do that in the Rookie game........WOW

The last minute was a dunk contest and Lebron, Tayshaun and Melo showed off, Nene missed a through the legs.

Amare won MVP with 36 point and 11 boards, Filp also had 25 points and 10 dimes.

Sat Feb 14, 2004 2:06 pm

That must have been a sick-ass game, poor local TV, neither ESPN showed it here...

Boxscore: http://www.nba.com/games/20040213/RKESPH/boxscore.html

Some impressive stats there, St. James will grab the MVP next year, (Y)

That game was awsome Tayshaun Prince through the legs repeating what Lebron did the play before. How bout mello hookin up with Lebron a few times. Awsome shit. Great way to spend the day  oh and Nene through the legs was funny

Sat Feb 14, 2004 2:35 pm

Its on sportsnet ontario right now.....REPLAY

Sat Feb 14, 2004 2:45 pm

That was one of the best rookie games i've seen!!
I loved that dunk fest at the end, that was awesome!
Did anyone see that High Impact Dunk squad at half time? lol, I think LeBron and Carmelo were already trying to do that stuff midway thru the first half

Sat Feb 14, 2004 2:59 pm

I actually found it rather boring.
I like watching SOME semblance of defence in a game.
I'd rather have a close game btwn all-stars (for instance last year's REAL all-star game, and the year when kobe and marbury were dueling @ the end hitting 3's) then a blow-out all-star game where they just dunk all day on freebies to the basket. It gets old real fast.

If it weren't for the last 2 mins where they basically held the dunk contest for this year (LeBron and Tayshaun were sick) I would have thrown the remote at my tv.

Sat Feb 14, 2004 4:25 pm

prince + between the leg = who whoulda thunk it?

nice game...

personally, my favorite moment was when flip crossed up lebron. he got him GOOD :D

Sat Feb 14, 2004 4:29 pm

The Soph's didn't play defense, the rookies just took more shots and more 3 pointers.

The Rookies didn't get rebounds because the Soph's hit 66.3% of their shots.

Sophmores weren't really less selfish either, they just had Flip handling the ball all day and making some sick passes.

Flips cross up on Lebron was definately the nices play, since he also made the shot after.

Sun Feb 15, 2004 2:38 am

That dunk wasnt that great.....wow, a 6-9/215 player dunks it between the legs with no D at all  . Simply amazing

fgrep15 wrote:The Soph's didn't play defense, the rookies just took more shots and more 3 pointers.

They took one more shot and four more threes. The Sophomores did have defense inside, just the existance of Yao, Amare, Boozer, and Nene and their attempts to swat provided defense. I never said it was good defense or they dug down and played defense, just that the Sophomores played more defense which was to be expected since they always do and the Rookies was a team of sieves.

No, the rookies didn't get rebounds because they didn't have the size. If you noticed the rookies grabbed only 21% of offensive rebounds, while the sophomores pounded them grabbing 44%. On the other end they got pounded 79%-56%. That doesn't have anything to do with shooting percentage.

Sun Feb 15, 2004 3:09 am

Sure, all I saw was the Soph's beating them by 3 on the offensive glass, and 18 on the defensive glass, not considering missed shots and all that.

I didn't like how it was played though, next time more D is needed.

Sun Feb 15, 2004 4:32 am

The Announcers gave no one Props....thats a sad ass effort....LeBron went through the legs in the game.....everyone but the announcers flipped! I was expectign the announcers to go "OH MY LORD!" I dont give a shit if there was no fucking Defense in this....IT WAS A THROUGH THE LEGS DUNK AND IT WAS IN THE GAME....IN GAME!

I-N-G-A-M-E!!!!

Then about a few weeks later He'll do it with 8 Minutes on the clcok and people will go "HOLY SHIT!"

Sun Feb 15, 2004 4:50 am

....IT WAS A THROUGH THE LEGS DUNK AND IT WAS IN THE GAME....IN GAME!

There was absolutely NO DEFENSE.......N-O D-E-F-E-N-S-E!!!

Sun Feb 15, 2004 5:15 am

Boozer moved out of his way and everyone cleared the lane for him to do it, its not special like that. If it was on the break (fast break) or something then it would be nice.

The Sophomores grabbed 44% of possible offensive rebounds, the Rookies got 21%. The Sophomores grabbed 79% of possible defensive rebounds, the Rookies snagged 55%. The historical average (which is somehow always 1-2% either way each season) is 30% and 70%. The Sophomores destroyed them on the glass.

Sun Feb 15, 2004 7:54 am

the whole game was a fast break.. which isn't too bad. sorry, basketball purists, we're dealing with players mostly under or around 21. can you realistically expect these guys to take this exhibtion event seriously?

lol...

when lbj was doing this in high school games, people were popping boners.

i thought it was pretty cool. who cares if there was no defense. i haven't seen anyone try that dunk with someone defending him

Sun Feb 15, 2004 7:57 am

Riight..........I don't get the whole not able to quote thing??

I thought the defenive boards were Soph's 80% to Rookies 54%, and Offensive Soph's 50% to Rookies 25%.

Well yeah, I understand that they want to pull off a show, but I personal do not enjoy the fact that the defense steps back so that the offense can be creative, thats something that the Harlem Globetrotters do. LeBrons High School dunk was a pretty nice one because he or someone else had a steal which was caused by some good defense, and the reward was that nasty slam dunk....In my opinion thats something else then just stepping back from D during a set play

Sun Feb 15, 2004 2:14 pm

That is very true, its a never ending process.

Sun Feb 15, 2004 7:16 pm

Fgrep why did you say that?

Mon Feb 16, 2004 4:01 am

I didn't, I said this

Sure, all I saw was the Soph's beating them by 3 on the offensive glass, and 18 on the defensive glass, not considering missed shots and all that.

I didn't like how it was played though, next time more D is needed.

Then he was unable to quote, and added capital letters and horrible spelling. Like I said, its a work I'm progress.
