Your all-star team of role-players

Postby Ruff Ryder on Fri Feb 13, 2004 12:15 pm

If you could make a team of role players what would it be? Preferably no all-stars. If you have to have one, make sure he's only a one or two timer.

PG: Bobby Jackson
SG: Kerry Kittles
SF: Jim Jackson
PF: Corliss Williamson
C: Sam Dalembert

Derek Fisher
Raef Lafrentz
Bruce Bowen
Darrel Armstrong
Aaron McKie
Al Harrington
Christian Laetenner(spl?)

What about you?

No, he meant ROLE players, not the stars themselves, the supporting cast players, not star material players...Marbury, Jamison, Spree, Webber...all stars man.

George for example is a ROLE player on the Laker team, not a star...just someone who gets the job done, yet isn't a "supa" star.

crawford4MIP4real is the only one who got an actual role player list...like PJ said, a role player is a player who has a role...he does the role...but does little else...Bruce Bowen and Devean George have the same role...defend, and stand outside the three point line incase the ball comes their way...you could say Marbury's role is to play the point guard position...and Jamison's is to come off the bench and dominate...but generally a role player is considered one who does one or two things...ala Rodman, who rebounded and defended but didn't do anything else even though he could...
benji - good bye sky, hello destiny... says:
what's Webber's role...getting injured...
Kenny Smith says:
haha, no kidding ... and hoisting up 17-footers when he could be (and should be) a beast in the post, disappearing in the clutch, etc.

But your team has stars not role players, Zach Randolph, Gasol, Bibby, Odom, Maggette, Dampier, Dre Miller, Terry, Kenyon, Rashard and even Donyell aren't role players, they are all the first or secnd primary player on their team. :(
