Kevin Garnett
-Had grade problems his junior year (of high school)
-Was the first player to jump to the NBA out of high school since Darryl Dawkins did it 20 years before him
-Averaged 6.5 blocks a game his senior year of high school.

Yesterday's winner was...again....ALEX ITALO! I guess Eastern Standard Time helps. A number of people guessed right...but here are the top 3 after Alex, in order.

2. Ben
3. gloveguy
4. fgrep15
5. Andrew (overcoming the Australian handicap of being asleep while the rest of the world is awake  )

The competition remains tight among the top few people.

Okay...I was going to take a break...but by popular demand we'll do another!

Can you name the current or former NBA player who had these lines in his predraft scouting report?

"??? had a difficult senior year do to his late return from ----ball, and due to the general suckyness of the rest of the team."

"??? was not considered a top prospect at point due to his performance this year..."

"His primary strenghts are his leadership and his defense."

"???'s primary weakness has been his lack of offense, and he is not too great at the free throw line either."

"...a master of the pick-pocket."

"The potential for a very long and productive career is there with ???."

"Most owners want him to choose one or the other."

"??? did not get into full basketball shape untill around mid-february."

"He has been critical in the success of the Sem????e basketball program as a calming influence on the court..."

"Most importantly, he is a true point guard, not a shooting guard forced into it."

"...considering he has not played a full season of hoops in three years, it is excusable."

"...I hear the Knicks need a point guard, and the Spurs, and the Magic..."

Hope that's not too easy...

Feel free to post your reasoning here...but PM me with the answers.

First I thought, just lookin at draft history on NBA.com and find out in which year Toronto had the 6th pick would do the trick ... I was wrong, Toronto never had the 6th pick :(.

But I got it now and will PM you EG.

Chances are that this guy is pretty tall. Not your average 6-6'2 pg. Hmmmmmmm. I have some ideas though.

Sat Jan 24, 2004 10:51 am

I dunno...i was thinkin Juan Dixon...cause he's a PG playing SG....but he's more offensive than defensive...plus hes on the Wizards roster

Reece Gaines???? see- i suck at this!

Yay! I got KG right. :D (Where's my Aussie Handicap? :P)

Anyway... this one has got me completely stumped...

Ben told me the answer just before, but i would never have gotten it otherwise... whew... next...

Well, I know who it is. Look at the quotes again. Take his one into consideration:
"??? had a difficult senior year do to his late return from ----ball, and due to the general suckyness of the rest of the team."

What it says is he missed some part of the season due to another sport, and his team sucked. If you think hard enough, you can figure out who it is. There's only 2 possibilities the sport can be.

Now consider that it runs into basketball season. 'late return from ----ball'.

Former Knicks Point Guard Charlie Ward
-Played both football and basketball at Florida State University
-Joined the basketball team after the end of football season every year
-Was known in college for his defense and leadership

Last Week's Winner was ALEX ITALO! He completed a stunning sweep of the last three mystery players!

Also guessing correctly (in order)
2. ruffryder8 (getting off an astonishing three guesses in 20 minutes)
3. Ben
4. gloveguy
5. fgrep15

Okay...let's jack up the difficulty ever so slightly...and present Mystery Player #5!

Can you guess the former or current NBA player who had these comments in his scouting report?

The scouts wrote:"Weaknesses: Strength, Conciousness?"

"...or small forward his 4 years..."

"...one of the best players in War Eagle history."

"???, like his older brother...was a flat-out scorer"

"isn't the greatest ball-handler, but is solid enough"

"Former coach Tommy Joe Eagles considered ??? one of the best pure shooters he had ever seen."

"Defense might be questioned."

"Unlike ---...who had a pretty decent physique, ??? lacks a little bit of strength, and is rather skinny."

"...he is a solid rebounder..."

"...Like Chuck..."

"??? projects as a 1st round pick..."

One slight change this week...when you PM me with your answer...put your answer in the subject line. It makes it easier to check who answered correctly when.
