After more than one and a half year here at NLSC, I've decided to make my own dynasty. I have followed some of the most successful dynasties and also some of the record-breaking associations here (ALIB II by Sit the great), so now, I'm too much inspired to make one. I will just keep it simple and somehow easy to follow. Also, I will try committing myself to update at least once per week.

I wonder why Dallas Mavs wasn't used here frequently as a team in dynasty. Maybe because they're already contenders, or just for some other reasons. But I have a reason for choosing this team, that is - Help Dirk win a ring! (that's just present goal). Who knows where this dynasty will go...so together, we will find out.

Stay tuned.

This is Cuban's Club, the Dallas Mavericks Basketball!

=Dallas Domination= | Cuban tired of waiting, hire new GM

Cuban tired of waiting, hire new GM Kaiser D.

Before the season starts, Mark Cuban made a critical decision by firing Mavericks GM Donn Nelson. He said that he is tired of the Mavs just being a playoff team being eliminated every year early. He wants Mavs to have a major change, to live and play beyond people’s expectations.

In the press conference, he said these regarding the move:

Cuban: “Damn, I’m sick of this...of not getting that success we are striving for…yes, we have made it to the Finals in 2006 with him, that team’s only finals appearance having 2-0 lead…and later have lost 4 consecutive games…I’ve just thought maybe it’s not on the player nor on the coach…maybe it’s in the main brain of the team, the GM…Donn Nelson made a very good job in leading the team in his tenure. But I mean, with the roster we got right now, it is just ring or nothing…and we end up on getting nothing. Thanks a lot, Donn…good luck to your journey.”

Press: “In firing Donn, you have to get an experienced Hall-of-Fame caliber GM if you want things to get better. So, who’s the new GM?”

Cuban: “Well, he is not exactly what you expect, but he is the chosen one that will lead my team to success. I’d like you all to meet the new GM, Kaiser D.”

Press (silently and shocked): “Kaiser what? Who the hell is that person?! Is Cuban on drugs?”

Cuban: “Stop all of those fusses and doubts. I just have this “confidence” in this guy-confidence that he will never let my trust be trash. He will lead us to victory. I have strong feeling of that.”

Press: ”Uh-oh, they will be in trouble.”

Another Press: “Yup, you get it right, pal. They’ll be in a big trouble.”

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

A brief information about Donn Nelson:

He was instrumental in rebuilding a team that suffered a decade long playoff draught into a perennial playoff team and championship contender. During his tenure, the Mavericks have won 66% of their games with three 60+ win seasons, including a franchise record 67 win season in 2007 which tied for the sixth best regular season in NBA history. The Mavericks are also one of just six NBA franchises to win 60 games or more three times in a five year span. During his tenure, the Mavericks have also made the playoffs seven consecutive seasons, been to the Western Conference Finals twice, reached a franchise milestone in 2006 when they advanced to the NBA Finals, and won their first Division Title in 20 years in 2007.

On the roster, Donnie Nelson has acquired players through key trades (Jason Terry, Jerry Stackhouse, Erick Dampier, Trenton Hassell), success in the NBA Draft (Devin Harris, All-Star Josh Howard and 2007 MVP Dirk Nowitzki), and free agency (Eddie Jones, Devean George, DeSagana Diop). On previous teams Nelson played a significant role in acquiring players such as two-time MVP Steve Nash and All-Star/Sixth Man of the Year Antawn Jamison.

Nelson successfully coached the Mavericks while his father and former head coach Don Nelson was recovering from cancer surgery in 2000-2001. Donnie led the team to a 15-8 record while serving as head coach. He was the top assistant to his father at Golden State, where he served the organization a total of eight seasons ('86-'94). Nelson was also a regional scout for the Milwaukee Bucks for two seasons ('84-'86).

The new GM, Kaiser D.

Image

He isn’t new in the world of basketball. Born in the Philippines, this new GM of the Dallas Mavericks coached before in the PBA (Philippine Basketball Association) with the Brgy. Ginebra Kings. In his 3 years experience as the Kings coach, He won Coach of the year in that three years stint and led the team into three swept championships. He also played for the same team five years ago, winning his one and only ring as a player. He also named season MVP and Finals MVP in that year. He knew it would be a bigger help for the team if he would be their head coach.

Despite of all his achievements, many basketball analysts still doubt if he would be a great GM for the Mavs. Not on his words, but through his actions, he will remove those doubts and will be a reliable GM as Cuban expects him to be.

Kaiser D. getting the job done, hires a complete set of staffs

Kaiser D. values time. Time is gold. That's why he wastes no time in hiring staffs. Way before the hiring staff period started, he was already prepared. He knew which people should he hire. So when the hiring staff period started, he immediately called and offered those people he believes that could help the team.

With the budget of 1.82M, he efficiently used it and offered decently.

He sent offers.

Nice, a Dallas dynasty. Will follow this for the sole reason it's Dallas Mavericks. Are you gonna use the current roster? MAKE DIRK MVP ONCE AGAIN!. Good luck with this

Mavericks Training Camp

After hiring the staffs, next comes the training camp. Rick Carlisle appointed the two assisntant coaches into good use. He told them to focus in their field of specialization.

Image

Image

You know what coaches say, "Play good defense, and offense will come." Training their athleticism further supports their fast-paced offense.

Dirk removing some rust...practicing what he does best-floor shooting

The Matrix shows he can still defy gravity. Doing a Lebron dunk

They also played one-on-one.

Kidd tells the rookie how NBA-level defense looks like.

Shawn vs. Shawne

Good thing Shawne is in the mood to practice. No brawl has been reported, at least. However, Shawne Williams didn't comment regarding the intentional facial dunk he received.

As the training camp comes to an end, the young guys shows the biggest improvement-guys like J. Barea, J. Singleton, and Shawne Williams.

Looks like Marion wakes up Williams' adrenaline to practice

News from other teams:

Inside the Magic camp, the dominant center Dwight Howard further widens his arsenal of weapons. Looks like he will have some time in the 2 spot. Image

"The Answer" finally found the answer to people's question in where would be his next club. Allen Iverson decided to sign in a one year, 3.1M contract with, no other than, his first home-Philadelphia 76ers. "Before I would "really" retire, I would like to bring back the ol' good days with my very first NBA team, and (cry, cry) hopefully good things will happen." he said in an interview. He is expected to start at the point, making Lou Wlliams as the sitxh man. His first game as a Sixer againwould be at home against the Thunder.Image

I knew there are some Mavs fan in here :) ...Uhhmm, just wait and see, Im still working out with the roster...well, if you ask Dirk in what he would choose, a c-ship ring or another MVP, I'd rather want the first one...but ok, just give the ball to Dirk! haha
