I am a nets fan, and i hate it when they say knicks and nets is a great rivalry. ITS NOT!!!!! NETS OOOOOOWWWWWWNNNNNNN the KNICKS. Winning 11 out of 12 agaist them. PLease stop this madness.

well, the Knicks have a lot of EX-Nets players (Van Horn traded, Mutombo buyout, Marbury traded) so when the Knicks and Nets play, those players gotta feel a bit more motivated to beat the Nets.

I'm pretty sure the all-time record is a little more even. The Nets have become one of the top teams in the league while the Knicks are still rebuilding after their teams of the 90s have been all but completely dismantled. Besides, win/loss records don't disqualify matchups from being rivalries.

I've never seen the Knicks/Nets rivalry labelled as one of the great rivalries in NBA history. Rather, it's one of those on-going situations similar to the Lakers and Clippers: a successful franchise and an underdog franchise.

It may not be Lakers/Celtics or Pistons/Bulls or Bulls/Knicks or Knicks/Heat, but there is a subplot to the matchup.

Thet Nets/ Knicks is more like a local darby. This will change after the Marbury deal.

it wasn't as much of a deal even though Knicks got Van Horn and Mutombo...but now i think Marbury will look for revenge as well....this is a great matchup i say...especially the two teams are just across from the river...they are so close it would be a good matchup....Marbury vs Kidd..

You got it right, I am a Knicks fan and I should it is really not a rivalry because of the way one team dominates another. When the Knicks were dominant, the Nets stink into the bottom of the Atlantic. Then, the Nets earned respectability while the Knicks sunk. I think what some think of it as a rivalry is the fact that they are in the Metropolitan Area.

That's basically what I was trying to say, in a more rambling fashion.
