Bad news for Karl Malone

Postby Andrew on Tue Dec 30, 2003 2:25 pm

Malone suffers another setback; return Friday not likely

Tough break for the Mailman, a great competitor who has rarely missed a game in his career, and hates to do so. Bad news for the Lakers too, though they've still got Shaq, Kobe and GP; more than enough firepower to keep the Lakers on course.

you guys are terrible lol... is this a blessing in disguise or a sign for more things to come for the mailman? the mailman can stand to use the rest but maybe this injury is the tip of the iceberg.

big aristotle better get ready for the pick and roll

LOL @ this thread. As soon as I saw the title, a part of me was busting to chuckle... MJ was probably speaking to Jesus at one of their card games and asked him not to let Karl win a title.

No delivery: Mailman now headed for injured list

A very disappointing occurence for a proud NBA warrior, but I don't think anyone will think any less of him. If the injury is too severe to allow a player to play effectively and without too much pain, there's no shame in taking a few games out to rehab the injury; difficult as that may be.

Yeah it is a shame, but hey malone has done alot in his career, the best pf ever, so i really doubt anyone will speak of this. Theres nothing Karl can do except rest it. Even tho he's a laker (karl's not a raper :proud: ) i hope he returns as soon as he can

To bad. Malone has managed to do what todays big stars dosen't. Namely to show up 95% of all games which players like AI, T-Mac, Franchise, Kobe + more aren't good at, at all.
Anyway it sucks that his probably last season will end like this. Still, his history talks for itself.

Did you even read the article? Malone said "Missing, seven, eight, nine games in one spell when I haven't missed that many in 18 years is discouraging.", where does it say hes done for the season?

Anyway....this is a big down for LA.....Malone played great unselfish basketball at this moment, and I loved his backdoor passes to driving players. So LA really will mis that. But they still have Kobe, Shaq, Gary and Devean so they should be fine

I didn't mean that he wouldn't play one more single game, I meant that it sucked that he will play less than 80 games which has never done before.

"Coach Phil Jackson chose not to place Malone on the injured list Friday, but said the decision was based mostly on his determination that no one on the injured list was worth activating."
