Hibbert dominated the paint with 15 points and 17 rebounds.

It's more then a week since D-Wade played with a flu, and he looked a lot healthier. He scored 15
points and added 9 assists but the Heat couldn't withstand the Pacers overall team effort.

The Pacers had 7 players in double-figures, led by Danny Granger 21 points. Rashard Lewis led the
Heat in scoring once again with 18 points, Udonis Haslem finished with a double-double.

The Heat had just recovered from a defeat in Minnesota and wanted to put this game out of reach as
quickly as possible. But the Pacers had other ideas as they jumped out to a quick 9 point lead after one.

The second quarter helped the Heat a bit, as the difference didn't increase nor did it decrease. However,
the Pacers outplayed the Heat once again and took a 14 point lead into the final and decisive quarter.

Dwyane Wade has been in these kind of situations before and was confident, that playing with energy and
tight defense and experience over the younger Pacers would get the Heat back in the game

But none of those thing helped, as the Heat allowed the Pacers score 30 points. TJ Ford was a nightmare, as
he cruised through the Heat defense twice n a row and finished with a slam. Rare for a 5'11' player.

Former Heat Kyle Korver finished with a whopping 1 point in 28 minutes as he only made one free throw after
a defensive three-second violation by the Heat.

Roy Hibbert, Troy Murphy, Danny Granger, TJ Ford, Mike Dunleavy, Jarrett Jack, Jamaal Tinsley all reached double
figures. The rest of the team combined for 4 points. The Pacers also shot better from the field (53% to 42%), from
three-point land (55% to 27%) and from the charity stripe (86% to 72%).

This will wrap up March for the Heat. The Heat still have 6 games left in the season.

Wizards beat Knicks in long waited Cruz-Sit match-up.
-----------------------------------------------------------------

Image
Sit did outscore Cruz, but as a result the Knicks will be out of the Playoffs. Again.

Image

This years rookie class is one of the strongest since 2003, if not the stronger then that. William Sit was an All-Star this
year and his strong rival Carl Cruz from the Washington Wizards has been waiting forward to this match-up since it was
revealed, that Sit will start for the East.

Sit has two rookie of the month awards this season, Cruz only has one. Sit is his teams leading scorer, Cruz is second. All
these little things make Cruz want to bring Sit down to earth, who has become a star in New York.

The Knicks needed to win this game in order to stay eligible for playoff-berth, but it didn't happen. In a low-scoring game the
Wizards defeated the Knicks 91-82.

Cruz finished with 20 points for the Wizards. Caron Butler added 22 and Gilbert Arenas 18 points and 8 assists.

Sit didn't get that much help from his teammates. He scored 30 points, but only Eddy Curry and Chris Duhon scored in double figures.
In fact, no other player scored more then 5 points.

"This win means a lot. We are in a good position now for a high playoff-seed. But this means a lot for me personally to see Sit walk
away defeated. I'm glad our only match-up this year was here in Washington, although the win would have been sweeter if he had lost
in front of his own crowd, who adore and admire him so much."
said Cruz after the game.

When asked why the outcome looked like it did, Sit said :
"My teammates suck. Only Duhon and that fat-ass Curry did something on the court. I hope next year the team does some drastic changes
so I could be the franchise player on a playoff team I deserve to be. And Cruz, you may have won this one, but things will be different next
season"

William Sit : 30 points, 2 rebounds, 3 steals, 14-31 FG, 1-9 3PT
Eddy Curry : 16 points, 7 rebounds (off the bench)
Chris Duhon : 17 points

Carl Cruz : 20 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals, 8-18 FG [POTG]
Caron Butler : 22 points, 8 rebounds, 10-19 FG
Javale McGee : 12 points, 8 rebounds, 2 blocks, 9-12 FG
Gilbert Arenas : 18 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists, 6-14 FG

Give me Caron Butler and my Knicks would have won. Who's our GM? If it's still Isaiah, I'm gonna murder him!

Dwyane Wade's near triple-double against the Nets, then his 6 point flu game, James White's scoring outbursts headline and summarize the month of March for the Heat. The Heat faced 4 teams, all below .500 mark and tried to finish the month with 18 wins. That didn't happen as Indiana and Minnesota surprised the Conference leading Heat within 7-days time. The overall 2-2 record this month doesn't give a good overview of the Heat this month.

Let's start with the play of Dwyane Wade. The month started with a match-up against the league's worst Hornets. Dwyane Wade was average and finished with 17 points on 7-9 shooting. Then, against the Nets, Wade erupted for 34 points, 13 assists and 9 rebounds on 14-20 shooting. But during warm-ups against Minnesota, Wade felt weak. He started for the Heat as usual, but wasn't himself. During halftime team doctors took Wade's temperature and it was off the scale.Wade continued on playing, but couldn't after 5 minutes in the third and was replaced with Dorell Wright. Wade finished with 6 points. Wade wrapped up the month with 15 points and 9 assists against the Pacers. "I'm getting old. Next year this time I'll be 30. I'm not 24 anymore."

The Heat signed James White after they traded Kyle Korver to the Pacers to a 5-year deal because White wanted a multi-year deal to prove himself. As he is only payed a little over 1M a year, it was an amazing find and you should admire Pat Riley's belief in White. White is averaging 13 points off the bench in 7 games so far. He is an excellent scorer off the bench and perhaps even an upgrade over Korver. It was basically like Korver was traded for White and Jeff Foster was just a bonus. "I just want to prove myself to anyone who have doubted in me - coaches, GM's, fans and other players. I deserve to be in this league."

Rookie Rankings - January Edition
* Rookie leader. Only 2 best performances from now on, in order of my hyper-clever EC rating. (Efficiency+Contribution)

1. Karl Peebo | Sacramento Kings | EC RATING : + 3.631
| 18.7 PPG | 10.3 RPG | 4.0 APG | 1.31 SPG | 2.00 BPG |

March wasn't as good as February for Peebo, but he still ranks no 1 in the rankings. Double-doubles are still piling up, ranking in the Top 10 in the league. It has become a two-horse race, as the ROY award will likely go to an Estonian-born player.

    VS HOU | L 89-102
    38 minutes, 13 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals, 3 blocks, 3 turnovers, 2 fouls, 6-19 FG, 0-2 3PT, 1-1 FT
    VS PHO | L 86-121
    28 minutes, 12 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists, 0 steals, 3 blocks, 2 turnovers, 1 foul, 5-9 FG, 1-1 3PT, 1-2 FT

2. Lenny Crabman | Memphis Grizzlies | EC RATING : + 3.380
| 20.5 PPG | 5.0 RPG | 6.0 APG | 1.88 SPG | 0.42 BPG |

Crabman has the Grizzlies currently third in the West and is trying to lead the young Grizz to the teams first ever Finals appearance. When the season started, Crabman looked like a player who wasn't worth being the #1 pick with scorers like Sit and Spagnoletti behind him and a double-double machine co-native Peebo. Now though, all critics can watch Crabman in the Playoffs while none of the other three have led their respective teams to the Playoffs. Only Spagnoletti has a tiny chance.

    VS LAL | W 98-94
    39 minutes, 28 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals, 0 blocks, 3 turnovers, 2 fouls, 11-18 FG, 3-7 3PT, 3-4 FT
    VS DAL | L 107-100
    39 minutes, 14 points, 5 rebounds, 14 assists, 1 steal, 0 blocks, 0 turnovers, 3 fouls, 5-12 FG, 2-5 3PT, 2-2 FT

3. Albano Spagnoletti | Minnesota Timbervolwes | EC RATING : + 3.287
| 18.5 PPG | 7.2 RPG | 4.5 APG| 1.38 SPG | 1.29 BPG |

Spagnoletti has been the only-one so far from the 2010 draft class to be able to beat the Heat. That's impressive. The wolves have 2 games left this season and can't finish with more then 14 wins, thus finishing with a losing record. It might even be good enough for a playoff-berth, but that is unlikely.

    VS WAS| L 94-95
    36 minutes, 20 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, 0 blocks, 1 turnover, 2 fouls, 6-11 FG, 3-5 3PT, 5-7 FT
    VS UTA | L 90-94
    37 minutes, 26 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks, 0 turnovers, 2 fouls, 10-22 FG, 4-9 3PT, 2-2 FT

4. William Sit | New York Knicks | EC RATING : + 3.121
| 21.8 PPG | 3.3 RPG | 4.0 APG | 1.73 SPG | 0.38 BPG |

Carl Cruz beat Sit twice this month. First, in a long-anticipated match-up Cruz walked away with the win and after that, Cruz also took the ROTM honors. Sit made his opinion of the Knicks quite clear after the game and is demanding a change in New York. Who knows, Donnie Walsh is capable of changing this franchise, which has ran off course.

    VS WAS| L 82-91
    42 minutes, 30 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals, 0 blocks, 4 turnovers, 4 fouls, 14-31 FG, 1-9 3PT, 1-1 FT
    VS DET | L 93-94
    41 minutes, 29 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals, 0 blocks, 3 turnovers, 1 foul, 12-24 FG, 5-10 3PT, 0-0 FT

5. Carl Cruz | Washington Wizards | EC RATING : + 3.082
| 18.4 PPG | 4.5 RPG | 5.8 APG | 1.58 SPG | 0.54 BPG |

Cruz might have been the best rookie this month, but he's still 0.039 EC points behind his arch-nemesis Sit. Thanks to Cruz, the Wizards are now 13-13 and is good enough for the 8th spot in the East. If they manage to hold on to the 8th seed, they could face the Miami Heat, who currently are leading the East. (16-7).

    VS GSW | W 105-84
    34 minutes, 31 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists, 0 steals, 0 blocks, 0 turnovers, 3 fouls, 12-18 FG, 3-3 3PT, 4-6 FT
    VS NYK | W 91-82
    38 minutes, 20 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals, 0 blocks, 1 turnover, 5 fouls, 8-18 FG, 1-5 3PT, 3-3 FT

6. Oskar Tikka | Seattle Supersonics | EC RATING : + 2.670
| 15.0 PPG | 6.9 RPG | 2.4 APG | 1.48 SPG | 0.92 BPG |

    VS LAC | L 93-102
    39 minutes, 22 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, 0 blocks, 2 turnovers, 2 fouls, 9-15 FG, 1-1 3PT, 3-4 FT
    VS HOU | W 115-82
    37 minutes, 17 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 1 block, 4 turnovers, 2 fouls, 7-10 FG, 1-1 3PT, 2-3 FT

7. Zoilo Resurreccion | Milwaukee Bucks | EC RATING : + 2.368
| 14.9 PPG | 3.5 RPG | 3.6 APG | 1.32 SPG | 0.36 BPG |

    No games played.

8. J.J Madden | Toronto Raptors | EC RATING : + 0.777

    VS NOH | W 102-95

9. Karlis Jansons | Los Angeles Clippers | EC RATING : + 0.735

White's steal secures Heat the win.
---------------------------------------------

Image
White played only 2 minutes, but he was the hero.

Image

James White played only 2 minutes and scored 2 points, which is his lowest since joining the Heat. But he did stole an inbound pass when 3.2 seconds was on the clock. The Heat were up by 2 points and White made 2 free throws to set the final score.

Michael Beasley lead the Heat during the final quarter as he scored 17 points on 8-10 shooting. He quite simply humiliated the Pistons defense with spectacular dunks and spin moves.

However, both teams played superb defense in the first quarter as both teams only scored 14 points and shooting quite poorly (32% and 30%). The second quarter brought some excitement to the game, as the Heat scored 33 points and took a 7-point lead into halftime.

The third quarter didn't change a thing. Both teams scored 28 points on 50% shooting. Michael Beasley only had 6 points after 36 minutes. Udonis had already grabbed 15 rebounds and D-Wade had 10 assists.

Michael Beasley scored 13 points straight with 3 dunks during that stretch. One was a spectacular slam one-handed slam over Rasheed Wallace what resulted in a three-point play.

Haslem fouled out with 1.56 on the clock and James White came in for him, Michael Beasley was switched to C.

As Beasley dominated on one side of the court, the Pistons stayed in the game on the other side. Rasheed Wallace, Allen Iverson and Tayshaun Prince kept scoring and managed a 8-0 run with 29 seconds to go. It was a 2-point lead for the Heat and D-Wade had the ball. He dribbled it for a while, called an isolation play and went to work. As he was about to penetrate, a quick double-team came and Wade had to step back and shoot a long jumper.

It was off and Amir Johnson grabbed the board and called a time-out. After John Kuester had a talk with his players, the Heat returned to the court with Beasley, Lewis, Wright, White and Wade. As Tayshaun Prince inbounded the ball, James White ran after Rip Hamilton, who had just ran free from White after a screen.

White managed to quickly get away from the screen and as Prince passed it to Hamilton, White raced to intercept the pass and was quickly fouled by Rip.

White knew that making at least one would guarantee a possible OT and not a defeat at the buzzer. But he stayed cool and calmly made both. Pistons shot a quick three but it was way off.

The Heat continue their road trip, as the Lakers are up next. This will be an interesting match-up between the two non-all-stars, yet probably the 2 best shooting guards in the league Dwyane Wade and Kobe Bryant.

Wade's 44 powers Heat over Lakers.

Wade outscored Kobe Bryant by 39 points.

Dwyane Wade is continuing his inconsistent play, but fortunately in a good way as he erupted for 44 points in the Staples Center and the Heat were able to race back from a 14-point fourth quarter deficit and beat the Lakers 110-102.

Dwyane Wade led all scorers with a season-high 44 points. Starting bigs also reached double-figures with 12, 16 and 15 points respectively. Michael Beasley added 13 rebounds. Heat's spark plug James White only scored 3 points. Dorell Wright scored 3 points as well.

Everyone were anxious to see the long-anticipated Wade-Bryant match-up and one side delivered. Kobe Bryant scored just 5 points and took 4 shots. Unlike Dwyane Wade a few days ago, no disease nor injury was bothering Bryant.

But still after one quarter the Heat were trailing by 9 points and were down by 10 at the half. Pau Gasol was a nightmare as he scored 35 points on 15-17 shooting in the game.

The fourth quarter started and Dwyane Wade looked up at the scoreboard and saw the Heat trailing by 14 points. He wasn't happy with that, as there was a number 3 in the points column behind a number 24.

So he began to rally by himself. As he was defended by Kobe Bryant, a 8-time All-NBA first team defender, he had something to prove.

Wade scored 22 points straight by himself. He also had 2 assists late to Lewis and Beasley respectively. Mario Chalmers also contributed off the bench with 6 points.

The Heat scored 44 points in the final 12 minutes as they shot over 60% during that stretch. The Lakers only managed 22.

The Heat have 4 games left and will look to secure home-court advantage throughout the Playoffs.

BaronDavis1, White will still get his minutes, just in some close games he can't get them.

Started working on my season wrap-up post, it's gonna be huge. As said before it will include the remaining 4 games and also little season review (for the Heat), players of the month, final standings and the final rookie rankings edition.

I only have one game of the four in it and it's currently 2265 words (Microsoft Word word counter). That includes links of the images, which there are about 40, including the headings. So when finished it will probably be about 3000 words and quite a read. Hope you appreciate my effort and keep posting here and read it.

After the season summary post, there will also be a playoffs preview and also the new prediction game, so stay tuned!

Dwyane Wade led the Miami Heat to 22 wins and 7 losses. This record is the best in the Southeast division, the best in the Eastern conference and as the Heat ended the season with 6 straight in, it's also the best record in the league. Because of his strong supporting cast, he wasn't the teams leading scorer for the first time since his rookie season back in 2003/04. Rashard Lewis scored just 0.3 of a point per game more. Wade did lead the team in assists which he has done every single year for the Heat.

Dwyane Wade also led the entire league in free throw attempts and makes.

The next Eastern conference team behind Miami are the Atlanta Hawks, who won 17 games.

The regular season was already surprisingly successful for the Heat. Not many critics and analysts were ranking the Heat as the best team in the league. Even more, after the Heat acquired Rashard Lewis, their frontcourt became quite short. Starting center Udonis Haslem was shorter then Beasley and Lewis and is as tall as Dorell Wright, Miami's back-up small forward.

This hasn't stop the former Gator, who has accepted the challenge of constantly being undersized by opponents and has made up for his lack of height by playing with energy and intensity and fighting for every loose ball there is.

As a result of the no 1 seed, the Heat will face the Charlotte Bobcats in the first round of the playoffs. The Bobcats turned a devastating season around, as they started the season 1-10 and went 13-5 after that.

14-15 was a pretty common record, as 8 teams finished with the same record and only 2 made the Playoffs. The tie-breakers favored the Bobcats, but the Heat could also have faced the Milwaukee Bucks, led by Zoilo Resurreccion, the New Jersey Nets, the Philadelphia 76ers and the Washington Wizards, who have Carl Cruz running the show.

-----------------

The final four games included a game-winning three by Rashard Lewis against the Warriors, a blowout win against Philadelphia, Wade's triple-double against Lebron James and the Cavaliers and Rashard Lewis' match-up against his former team.

Image Image Image

Rashard Lewis scored a season-high 47 points against the Warriors, including the game-winner with 0.8 to go off a broken play. Udonis Haslem added 20 and Dorell Wright contributed 12 points and 11 assists(!) off the bench. Wright played a season-high 36 minutes, while Micheal Beasley was limited to 21 minutes.

As Stephen Jackson, who scored 43 points, led the Warrior-offense, Rashard Lewis scored on Anthony Randolph like there was no defense at all. Randolph scored only 6 points and committed 5 fouls. His fifth foul came when the Heat were trailing by three and Rashard Lewis was behind the thee-point land. He faked, got Randolph up in the air and then shot. He was awarded three free throws and made them all.

Captain Jack had a chance to win the game, but couldn't hit the game-winner over Dwyane Wade.

In the OT, things pretty much stayed the same as Lewis continued to score. Dorell Wright really helped things along, as his quickness surprised Luol Deng and help was often needed. This allowed Wright to pick up his 11 assists.

The Warriors were holding a 2-point lead with 21 seconds to go and control of the ball. The Heat didn't foul, but just ran like hell trying to force a turnover and steal the ball. This is exactly what happened, as the ball went to Brandon Wright and D-Wade came over from the weak side and stole ball like Michael Jordan during game 6 of the NBA finals in 1998.

After a time-out, Dwyane Wade isolated and was picked up by Monta Ellis. He dribbled and after a great move he got free and saw an open route to the rim. As he went to dunk the ball, Andris Biedrins pushed Wade, but the refs didn't see it. The ball was picked up by James White in the key. Instead of risking getting his shot block by either Biedrins ot Randolph, he passed it out to Rashard Lewis, who was defended by Stephen Jackson.

Lewis caught the ball, looked up at the clock and fired a fadeaway. It was nothing but the bottom of the net. The Warriors didn't have a time-out left and that was the end of it.

Rashard Lewis faced his former team for the first time and probably the last this season. He scored 25 points and led the Heat won 117-109, despite leading by 18 points before the fourth. Jameer Nelson led the rally, but James White put the game away with free throws.

Orlando started well and took an early lead and finished the quarter with a 4-point advantage.

Things pretty much fell apart for the Magic in the next two quarters, as they lost the two quarters by 12 and 10 points. Dwight Howard had already racked up a double-double, 20 points and 13 rebounds, but he already had picked up 5 fouls.

And with with only 12 seconds into the fourth quarter, Jeff Foster drew an offensive foul on Dwight and forcing Superman to the bench.

James White and Dorell Wright led the Heat during the final quarter, as the starters were enjoying a rest on the bench. The two swingmen combined for 18 points on 8-16 shooting from the field and 4-9 from three-point land.

As Jameer Nelson rallied by himself with help from Hedo Turkoglu and former Heat players C.J Miles and Tyson Chandler. Darius Miles scored 2 points, but his dunk narrowed the lead down to 6 points in the final minute. But James White capped of his 16 point night by making 7-8 free throws and securing the win.

Dwyane Wade was one rebound shy of a triple-double against the Nets, but managed to grab his 10th rebound with 30 seconds to go in the game. The Heat knocked off the Cavaliers 130-123 in double-overtime.

Wade's final staline was 25 points, 13 assists, 10 rebounds, 6 steals and 2 blocks. He shot 11-22 from the field.

This was the first game, when Udonis Haslem came off the bench and Dorell Wright got the start. Dorell Wright scored 11 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and added 5 assists in first start this season. Haslem scored 18 points off the bench in 26 minutes.

Lebron James scored 23 points and added 7 rebounds and 7 assists, causing some touble for the Heat. But the Cavaliers starting SG, sophomore Rod Case scored 24 points on 10-15 shooting.

In the second OT, Boobie Gibson caused problems for the Heat, as he finished with 17 points and 11 rebounds off the bench in just 21 minutes. Big Z also had a double-double with 27 points and 12 rebounds to go along with 5 blocks.

Despite the game going into double-OT, the Cavs didn't have a realistic chance to win. At the end of regulation and at the end of the first OT, the Heat had a chance to win the game from a tie-game.

James White scored 8 points and added 2 rebounds.

The Sixers didn't stand a chance against the Heat, as they lost the first quarter 29-15 and never recovered as the Heat defeated the 76ers 106-85.

Dorell Wright scored 22 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in his second start this season and Dwyane Wade added 24 points and 8 assists. Michael Beasley scored 15 and James White led the bench with 11.

Rashard Lewis however scored 8 points, the lowest points total since joining the Heat. "If your team wins by 21, you don't need me to score 30+." Lewis struggled from the field, as he was only 3-12 from the field and 0-4 from 3-land.

Mario Chalmers played 20 minutes off the bench and scored 5 points and his 6 steals are his season-high. Udonis Haslem scored 9 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 26 minutes.

The Heat managed something quite spectacular, as the entire team didn't miss a free throw on 20 attempts.

Elton Brand led the 76ers with 30 points and 9 rebounds. Andre Miller added 18 and 9 rebounds to go along with 6 assists. Andre Igoudala really struggled and scored only 6 points in 36 minutes.

Rookie Rankings - End-of-season Edition
* Rookie leader. Only 2 best performances from now on, in order of my hyper-clever EC rating. (Efficiency+Contribution)

1. Karl Peebo | Sacramento Kings | EC RATING : + 3.564
| 18.2 PPG | 10.1 RPG | 4.0 APG | 1.31 SPG | 2.03 BPG |

Peebo led the Kings to 12 wins, so far from a playoff spot. However the athletic forward is still on top of the rankings, as he averaged a double-double. He os the first rookie since Emeka Okafor and Dwight Howard to do so.

    VS ORL | L 95-108
    32 minutes, 15 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 4 blocks, 0 turnovers, 4 fouls, 5-12 FG, 1-1 3PT, 4-5 FT
    VS GSW | L 77-92
    33 minutes, 15 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists, 1 steal, 1 block, 2 turnovers, 2 fouls, 6-13 FG, 0-2 3PT, 3-3 FT

2. Lenny Crabman | Memphis Grizzlies | EC RATING : + 3.405
| 20.7 PPG | 5.0 RPG | 6.1 APG | 1.86 SPG | 0.39 BPG |

Crabman led the young Grizzlies to the Playoffs. However, he won't be available for the first two games and possibly the third game as he suffered an injury in the season's last game. The young Grizzlies will go against the experienced San Antonio Spurs. Memphis could go fishing very early.

    VS UTA | L 93-112
    39 minutes, 23 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 steal, 1 block, 3 turnovers, 0 fouls, 9-21 FG, 4-13 3PT, 1-1 FT
    VS CHI | W 119-102
    36 minutes, 24 points, 2 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals, 0 blocks, 1 turnover, 5 fouls, 9-16 FG, 5-8 3PT, 1-1 FT

3. Albano Spagnoletti | Minnesota Timbervolwes | EC RATING : + 3.250
| 18.2 PPG | 7.1 RPG | 4.5 APG| 1.35 SPG | 1.35 BPG |

One more win and the Wolves could have been in the Playoffs, if the tiebreaker against the Lakers favors them. However, this benefits the Heat a lot in hope of landing Michael Parmer.

    VS DEN| L 97-113
    33 minutes, 14 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 0 steals, 1 block, 0 turnovers, 3 fouls, 5-9 FG, 1-3 3PT, 3-4 FT
    VS TOR | W 84-96
    36 minutes, 28 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists, 1 steal, 3 blocks, 2 turnovers, 3 fouls, 11-16 FG, 4-5 3PT, 2-3 FT

4. Carl Cruz | Washington Wizards | EC RATING : + 3.091
| 18.4 PPG | 4.5 RPG | 5.9 APG | 1.59 SPG | 0.52 BPG |

Cruz did all he could, but a loss against the Nets ended the Wizards playoff-hopes. He does move up the rankings as finished the season more consistently the his main rival Will Sit.

    VS SAS | W 99-98
    38 minutes, 20 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal, 0 blocks, 1 turnover, 1 foul, 7-17 FG, 2-7 3PT, 4-5 FT
    VS NJN | L 93-96
    39 minutes, 20 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 steals, 0 blocks, 3 turnovers, 5 fouls, 8-18 FG, 2-3 3PT, 2-3 FT

5. William Sit | New York Knicks | EC RATING : + 3.060
| 21.2 PPG | 3.3 RPG | 3.9 APG | 1.79 SPG | 0.41 BPG |

With losses to the Bucks and the third worst team in the league the Warriors, the Knicks finished the season with the worst record in the league. Sit struggled as he shot below 40% in April. This pretty much ended the All-Star's chances to win ROY. He still has a chance, as he is the rookie leading scorer and many voters can appreciate that.

    VS MIL| L 99-96
    30 minutes, 20 points, 1 rebound, 3 assists, 2 steals, 1 block, 0 turnovers, 2 fouls, 7-15 FG, 3-3 3PT, 3-4 FT
    VS GSW | L 79-85
    38 minutes, 12 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, 0 blocks, 0 turnovers, 2 fouls, 5-18 FG, 2-4 3PT, 0-1 FT

6. Oskar Tikka | Seattle Supersonics | EC RATING : + 2.697
| 14.8 PPG | 7.3 RPG | 2.5 APG | 1.34 SPG | 1.03 BPG |

    VS ORL | W 109-103
    42 minutes, 15 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists, 0 steals, 2 blocks, 5 turnovers, 5 fouls, 4-17 FG, 1-6 3PT, 6-6 FT
    VS MIL | L 77-100
    39 minutes, 14 points, 12 rebounds, 1 assist, 0 steals, 1 block, 1 turnover, 4 fouls, 7-19 FG, 0-0 3PT, 0-1 FT

7. Zoilo Resurreccion | Milwaukee Bucks | EC RATING : + 2.459
| 15.6 PPG | 3.8 RPG | 3.6 APG | 1.21 SPG | 0.38 BPG |

    VS HOU | L 91-96
    34 minutes, 26 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 0 blocks, 3 turnovers, 2 fouls, 10-13 FG, 3-4 3PT, 3-4 FT
    VS NYK | W 99-96
    40 minutes, 21 points, 4 rebounds, 7 assists, 1 steal, 1 block, 3 turnovers, 1 foul, 10-22 FG, 0-6 3PT, 1-1 FT

8. Karlis Jansons | Los Angeles Clippers | EC RATING : + 0.754
| 4.8 PPG | 0.6 RPG | 1.7 APG | 0.41 SPG | 0.03 BPG |

    VS ORL | W 109-98

Center : Michael Beasley VS Emeka Okafor.

This is a very interesting match-up between two very different players and many factors favor one instead of the other. Emeka Okafor is a true center, he's taller and bigger Beasley and he's a better defender. Beasley was switched to C just 2 games before the Playoffs and was in trouble against the Cavaliers' Zydrunas Ilgauskas. Luckily, Okafor is just an inch taller and also slower then Beasley, which is where Beasley's advantages come in. Beasley is quicker, a much better shooter from everywhere on the court, he can also make the three (19 makes this season). Plus, Okafor's offensive repertoire isn't that versatile so Beasley's shaky defense isn't that big of a concern. Still, Beasley has to get accustomed with playing the C, or else Emeka would be a nightmare for the Heat.

Advantage : Even.

Power Forward : Rashard Lewis VS Boris Diaw.

Boris Diaw is a very versatile player for his size, but even for him guarding Rashard Lewis would be quite difficult. Lewis has the height advantage, also Lewis can score from anywhere on the court with ease. Diaw is a better passer and can play any position on the floor, including the point guard. To his disadvantage, Lewis still has quickness in his feet so going 1-on-1 with him won't be easy. When the two teams met during the regular season, Lewis was still wearing a Magic jersey and Boris Diaw scored 25 points.

Advantage : Miami.

Small Forward : Dorell Wright VS Gerald Wallace

Dorell Wright was inserted into the starting line-up and will get a chance to prove himself against Gerald Wallace, an extremely athletic swingman. Despite Wallace having a bad season as he only averages 12.6 points, that's still more then twice as much as Wright's average of 5.7. On a good note, Dorell Wright became a huge factor late in the season. He dished 11 assists off the bench against the Warriors and scored 22 points against the Sixers. Despite Wright having a championship ring, Wallace still has more experience over Wright, who hasn't played over 20 minutes a season in his career.

Advantage : Charlotte.

Shooting Guard : Dwyane Wade VS Jason Kapono

Every Heat fan remembers Wade's dunk over Kapono when the two teams met during the regular season and things won't probably change. Wade's only disadvantage is 3-point shooting, but since Wade has shown excellent defense this season, Kapono probably won't be a factor in this series.

Advantage : Miami.

Point Guard : Rajon Rondo VS Raymond Felton

To choose, who's got the advantage is pretty difficult. Felton did lead the team in scoring with a bit over 18 a game, but on the other hand Rajon Rondo scored a respectable 12 points per game and also led the league in steals. Felton only had 4 assists more then Rondo this season. So it's like the center match-up, both sides have their respective strengths and both compliment their teams in their own way.

Advantage : Even.

Bench : Udonis Haslem, Mario Chalmers, James White, Jeff Foster VS Raja Bell, DJ Augustin, Sean May, Vladimir Radmanovic

Raja Bell has led the Bobcats bench with 9.3 points per game, D.J Augustin adds 5.5 per game and Sean May chips in 4.2 points and 4.1 rebounds. The rest of the bench is pretty much a non-factor as it averages a little over 3 points a game. However, the Heat have a much deeper bench. Yes, only 3 players average more then 6 points, But those three are Mario Chalmers, Udonis Haslem and James White. The first two at least could be starting for numerous teams. Haslem might get the starting nod, if Beasley-at-C experiment fails. Jeff Foster and Kurt Thomas are also very nice veterans with much experience. And James White has been spectacular. He averages a tad over 10 points, but has scored 31 against the Spurs and hit clutch free throws against many teams since joining the Heat.

Advantage : Miami.
