i gotta give him his props.. he's come a longgggggggggg way since the beginning of the season.. he's been turning it up a notch the past couple of weeks and he's showing why he was drafted #1 overall.. i'll admit it, i was one of the doubters early on but im glad he's proving me (and probably a lot of other people) wrong. this kids gonna be great

Dropping some big numbers. If he can continue this, he'll surpass everyone's expectations. Wonder if he's going to run into the ever dreaded rookie wall?
Fri Dec 26, 2003 1:54 pm
if anything i think he already has hit the rookie wall.. there were several games this year where he shot the ball horribly.. i think he's going to end up dropping about 23 ppg while grabbing 5.5 boards and dishing out 6 assists this year
Fri Dec 26, 2003 2:46 pm
ever since Ricky Davis got traded he has taken his game to the next level..earlier it looked like Carmelo might of ran away with the rookie of the year award ( team winning & good stats) but now LeBron has finally got his rythem going and is scoring lots of points and helping the cavs win some more games.
Fri Dec 26, 2003 2:51 pm
wow guys! I never thought we'd get back to the days when a rookie would drop roughly 20-5-5! I thought those days were long gone, and Mike Miller and Amare averaging 12-13ppg was top notch for a rookie!
Any good prospects comming out next year?
So far this year:
Lebron James - 19ppg
Carmelo Anthony - 18ppg
Ronald Murray - 18ppg (practically a rookie, only played 12 games last year)
Dwayne Wade - 16ppg (and rising lately)
Chris Bosh - 11ppg
Jarvis Hayes - 11ppg
Kirk Hinrich - 9ppg (and rising)
not too bad considering recent years.

lebron james will retire the all-time greatest scorer in the NBA.
Fri Dec 26, 2003 5:47 pm
lol shep. I think he's gonna be great...im hoping he will be atleast as great a jordan though. For that to happen he's gonna need atleast six championships and and couple mvp awards.
I saw his game on abc vs. t-mac on christmas day. He was matching t-mac shot for shot through out the entire game...and they had a little rivalry thing goin on amoung them. The game ended in regular time with both teams tying and lebron scored 34..while t-mac had 35. T-mac broke away in over time though...ended up with the W...got 41 points...8 rebounds and 11 assists. Lebron didn't score...but i think he got t-mac's "welcome to the nba" message.
Fri Dec 26, 2003 6:14 pm
he is inconsistent with his shot tho...
he will be great.. he can definetly shoot.. i won't be surprise seeing him avg 30 points in 2 seasons or so.. and cavs making the playoffs..
i dont' see him as magic johnson tho.. right now hes been more effective at the sg lately..
Fri Dec 26, 2003 8:10 pm
He's scary. You just can't imagine how good can he be. He's 18 and his playing like a veteran in the nba. What if he can bring the cavs to the playoffs this year and average 20pts 6rebs 6assts he might even be considered for the mvp trophy.
Fri Dec 26, 2003 9:35 pm
The cavs won't make the playoffs this season , unless they pull of some kind of big winning streak and get over their struggles to win on the road.
That said, LeBron is playing amazing right now, I didn't expect him to be getting 20, 5, 5 so soon. 20pts yeh i could imagine, since he would be getting most of the shots, but being about to rebound and pass that well is amazing for a guy whos still 18years old.
Most vets can't post those numbers he's posting atm.

Wow, i doubted Bron a little to start off with, But i think hes given me and the rest of the other doubters a huge fuck you and has jammed it right in our grills.
hes playing superb ball, scoring is up since my boy ricky was traded, im sure hes been averaging almost 25ppg, just thinking of all the scoring.
i see him finishing the year off with 22/5/6, call me crazy buts hes playing great!

Pat Riley predicts he will average a triple-double in atleast one of the seasons of his career.
Sat Dec 27, 2003 1:14 am
I was one of the believers, I loved his game since he started and I am loving it even more. It was a good transaction when they got rid of Ricky Davis because there was a conflict in scoring there. When he left LeBron just broke out and started scoring like a mad fool.
Sat Dec 27, 2003 8:55 am
with the way he's playing i wouldn't doubt a triple double average for at least one season

Thats what predictions are for man, its to...predict.
Everyone could end up like Grant Hill, if you're going to look at it in that way.
Anyways, I hadn't expected this, I expected 10-15 ppg, 3-5 rpg and 4-5 apg. His scoring and pasing are impressive.
Me and Yohance jumped the bandwagon the first day of the season, during the Lakers/Mavs game.

Lets let him get a triple double in a game first before we start saying averaging a triple-double.

lets get back to reality man...hes a very good rookie and has alotta talent but even Magic Johnson wasnt able to avarage a triple double (even though he was pretty close to one in his 3rd season, 81/82)

JAZON KIDD all the way

MJ nearly averaged a triple double during one season..
32/8/8
thats insane
Sun Dec 28, 2003 8:12 am
That's awful man. If I actually knew you, I'd tell you to shoot yourself for saying that.
Anyways, as good as his stats might be, there's no doubt how much money he'll end up raking in for the NBA. I'm guessing that he'll bring in the second most amount, after MJ, who was estimated to have brought in about 10 billion.

St. James is king of basketball! LeBron rules, too...
He's averaging 20.2 ppg, 5.9 rpg and 6.1 apg for the season... That's some wicked numbers...
I ought get a LeBron jersey... If I get one of this and a Iverson and Spree ones, I can die in peace... Consumism!!

hehe, that's
consumerism for future reference... aherm, I mean, you know when you're trying to chat up a chick in english you might wanna use that word, and I wouldn't want you to say it wrong
I'll tell ya how big Lebron is... I saw somebody in a predominantly Asian part of Melbourne wearing his jersey. Any other player, and people wouldn't generally care to purchase the jersey, but Lebron is simply hype on viagra!!
(Note: Mid 1990's, and you could see someone wearing an NBA jersey once in a while, infact it was common in Melb. Now it's a rarity, I very rarely see someone sporting one. Also here at the moment it's not about being a fan of the player, but being a part of the hip hop generation with nba jerseys and poo-rags. Fuckin posers.)
