Miami only had 3 games in the month of January. They went 2-1, which doesn't say much. The big news in Florida was the deal between two teams, both located in Florida. Orlando Magic sent Forward Rashard Lewis and a couple of rookies to the Heat for Tyson Chandler, CJ Miles and Sean Williams. This deal has been criticized by many experts and critics, as Miami's starting C is shorter then SF and PF. Haslem is 6'8, whilst Beasley is 6'11 and Lewis is 6'10. In the first game, Haslem posted a double-double and the Heat weren't outrebounded. But one game doesn't say anything. The Heat might be looking at some size with Kyle Korver's expiring contract being a good trade bait.

Rookie Rankings - January Edition* Rookie leader. Only 2-3 best performances from now on.1. Albano Spagnoletti | Minnesota Timberwolves | 9-9 * Missed games due to injury.
| 20.5 PPG | 7.0 RPG | 4.9 APG | 1.60 SPG | 1.27 BPG |
Spagnoletti does all the little things well. He's not the top scorer among rookies, not the best rebounder nor is he the best passer. But as his team was losing without him and are now on a playoff picture with him, he stands on top. But the injury has left a sign, he's not as explosive as he was in the beginning of the year.

2. William Sit | New York Knicks | 5-12|
21.1 PPG | 3.1 RPG | 4.0 APG| 1.67 SPG | 0.48 BPG |
The Knicks are back where you have found them the last couple of years - rock bottom. Sit is often the only player to reach double figures. Rumors are circulating in the "Big Apple" that Sit could play in the All-Star Game. Nothing has been confirmed yet. A website supporting it has been launched.

3. Karl Peebo | Sacramento Kings | 8-10| 17.6 PPG |
10.5 RPG | 4.0 APG | 1.33 SPG |
2.06 BPG |
Peebo is averaging a double-double for the season after 18 games and will most likely finish like that. His 2.06 blocks per game are in the top 10 in the league. That's impressive considering his size disadvantage.
VS WAS | W 95-76

4. Lenny Crabman | Memphis Grizzlies | 6-9| 19.5 PPG | 4.9 RPG | 5.1 APG |

Crabman has decreased his stats in every statistical category. His 2.13 steals per game still ranks in the top 5 in the league.

5.5 APG | 1.47 SPG | 0.53 BPG |
Cruz is getting better every game. However, the Wizards went through January without a win. Cruz can opt out of his contract and he just might, considering their current situation. He had his worst shooting night of the season against Sacramento, stats below.
