Big disappointments: Sure, the Bulls are wincing over that signing of Scottie Pippen. But it hasn't gone very smoothly with several other big off-season acquisitions. The Celtics have had to shut down Raef LaFrentz, acquired for Antoine Walker, for the season with knee surgery. He's owed $55 million through 2008-09. Walker returns to Boston with the Mavericks on Wednesday but took his first shot last week, blasting general manager Danny Ainge in the Boston Globe: "He might have set them back three or four years. It all depends on how long Paul [Pierce] is going to be willing to live with fighting around .500. Look at [Orlando's unhappy] Tracy McGrady. At the rate he's going, [Ainge] is not going to be in this position for a long time. When you're not trading value for value, it's personal. It wasn't like I'm going to jail. It's not like I'm in rehab. Other stars in this league watch what goes on. If you look at the trade, I think he really felt like I wouldn't mesh with these guys in Dallas. I think he was really trying to set my career back."

God damn, I'm pretty sure Tubzy just took jabs at half the league!
Let's see:
Danny Ainge, several times.
The Celtics in general.
Paul Pierce in comparing him to T-Mac (Mike will agree I'm sure :))
Raef Lafrentz (though it's true about the value thing probably)
Shawn Kemp, Vin Baker and countless other guys who were in rehab.
Kobe Bryant.
The Trailblazers.
Countless other stars going to jail.

...and Danny Ainge was trying to set Antoine's career back? Yes Antoine the world revolves around your fat ass, and Danny Ainge traded your fat ass to an offensively oriented contending team to make you suffer, rather than to try and create a better situation for the Celtics organisation! What a self involved fool! :? :P What's he complaining about, he's still Jacking up plenty of shots/threes.

Hes playing great ball right now.

I mean if T-Mac is allowed to call 5% of the league gay, then Toine can have his say on what he thinks of the league.

Walker took a jab at more than 5% of the league though :D
Plus I don't like him so I thought I'd go off on him for a little bit (y)

Although after reading comments posted recently pertaining to the Boston Celtics, Danny Ainge and the whole deal, I think Walker is an uninformed fuckface, who thinks he deserves a contract extention like those recently signed by Allen Iverson, Jason Kidd or perhaps Kevin Garnett.

Ainge's Favorite Mistake

This is not what I expected from the Antoine Walker deal, now maybe Ainge can do something to make up for this fuck-up.

He better do something right now, for right now, but honestly the whole thing with Walker was that he wanted $107 million or else, he didn't see that his role with the team needed to change, he didn't get along with Jim O'Brien or Danny Ainge, so he was traded with Delk for LaFrentz and Welsch, I do not miss Tony Delk, he is not a point guard, please believe that, he can't get others going. But they should have asked Chicago about Jalen Rose and Donyell Marshall or Portland about Rasheed Wallace and Bonzi Wells, but they probably did, I don't know, but when Antoine Walker says this will set the Celtics back for a few years, I am now a believer.

In the end Walker wasn't going to work for Boston, but they got pimped by Dallas.

[I am always going to go a few extra miles with my thoughts sorry about quasi-off subject ramblings.]

He did make the trade for Ricky Davis right now for right now, so that came to be, I hope.
I really wonder if Ainge understands what he has done to the Celtics, I hope he has a larger plan.

J.R. Bremer
Bruno Sundov
Antoine Walker
Tony Delk
Eric Williams
Tony Battie
Kedrick Brown

for

Jumaine Jones
Jiri Welsch
Ricky Davis
Chris Mihm
Michael Stewart

1st Rd Pick
Raef LaFrentz
[out for the season]
Chris Mills
[out of shape/out of the leage $6,000,000, frees up almost half of Walker's contract]

Antoine returns to the Fleet Center tonight, oh yeah he brings Dirk Nowitzki, Steve Nash, Antawn Jamison, Michael Finley, Josh Howard and Danny Fortson with him, if I were traded to play with this unit, I would assume that Ainge intended to set-back my career, what a dummy. If Ainge wanted to ruin Antoine he could have traded him and Delk to Atlanta for Jason Terry and Shareef Abdul-Rahim, although I would think Atlanta would want more, it's the thought that counts.

Should be interesting to see how he plays and how everyone reacts, especially Pierce and the Boston crowd, one thing I know, Ricky Davis will not give a shit about any Antoine Walker business and shouldn't be distracted it, but will he play alot? [I would assume he can replace the not so athletic or schooled Jiri Welsch as the starting small forward.]

Paul Pierce and Ricky Davis know each other from Los Angeles summer workouts. Jumaine Jones and Davis were teammates at Cleveland, so the chemistry should be okay, so long as Davis follows instructions.

Edit/ I have learned Michael Finley and Shawn Bradley will miss the game in Boston.

its not only Ainge that approved the Antione trade, but yea we all hope he has a bigger plan, I don't know how he will get Ricky Davis to play defense ALL THE TIME, not just 1 out of every 10 times, or when he feels like it, he's not a bad defender just not a willing one

i really don't think Jiri is that bad, I saw him play a lot and he held his own on the defensive end, he is a combo guard that can play the 1,2,3 so he's also not a bad passer, has quick hands and he's a good rebounder for his position

yea finley has been out and Bradley being out is good b/c Forston the hack will play more and get pierce more trips to the line

man the celtics played horrible tonight
vin baker is soft.. fortson grabbed soo many offensive rebounds.. and so did the dallas in general.. they didnt' defend well
a lineup with, james, welsh, pierce, baker and mccarty is horrible..
baker don't rebound well.. mccarty is a sf/pf guy.. more of a softer rebounder.. welsh dont' got hops isn't that tough.. only pierce can rebound there..
man.. they played soo bad
their defence was horrible.. they lost shot blocking presences in battie who probally would have played 30 mins a night without lafrentz..
williams would get a lot of boards while hes in the game.. and wouldn't let his defender beat him.. 2 of their best team/individual defenders gone..
i hope they can get mihm more mins.. he needs to come out and get like 6-7 boards a game with 25+ mins and 5-6 points .. they seem soo soft right now compare to the old celtics with james, piece, williams, lafrentz, battie..

welsh is playing great tho .. i hope they play better next game.. cuz if they played against like new orleans or something .. they'll get killed

Boston won you know.

That was Dallas, maybe without Finley, but Boston was without Eric Williams, Tony Battie and Kedrick Brown, got nothing from Mihm or Davis really and still won, give Welsch his due and Paul was the best player on either side. Maybe you thought they played horrible basketball, to a certain extent I agree, but they shot the ball well and played good defense down the stretch, because Fortson got a bunch of offensive rebounds in the beginning of the game doesn't mean shit, he didn't get any key rebounds down the stretch and didn't do anything else. Yes they did look poor at times defending Jamison and Nowitzki, but Dallas has many athletic players and they are a tough match-up for any team, this team just beat the Lakers at home, although they blew a huge lead to the Clippers within nights of beating the Lakers at home, they did it and it makes them as good as anyone in the NBA, thus Boston deserves credit for putting together the win, Nowitzki was getting all the attention for his leg injury, but it's no worse than Pierce's calf injury and Pierce still managed to dot the "I's" and cross the "T's" and got the win.

Dallas is leading the league in offensive rebounds so don't worry about the offensive rebound thing, and yea welsch did exceptionaly well, he's supposed to be a good rebounder for a guard tho, Boston needs Mihm to start he had 3boards in 8mins, but they need time to learn the offensive and defensive schemes but when they do i expect good things

i dunno Nowitzki didn't look like he could move out there, at least pierce wasn't hobbling....a bone injury is normally worse than a muscle injury or pull, Dirk still got 30 and 13 so 'all good i guess
