Miami went 3-1 in December, only loss coming from a last second tip-in by Stromile Swift. For the season, the Heat are 8-3, third in the league and first in the East. Miami made two trades in December, acquiring Sean Williams and a first round pick from Minnesota. They parted ways with James Jones, Haywood Toure and Tony Allen. Allen had complained about team chemistry and was shipped out.
Positive notes :
√ - The Heat acquired a first round pick from the Wolves, a possible Top 10 pick. This will help the Heat in the busy off-season they will have.
√ - Michael Beasley averaged 23 points and 7.3 rebounds in December, getting better and better every game.
√ - Tyson Chandler averaged 11.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks, dominating the defensive glass. Offensively he grabbed 5.3 offensive rebounds and shot 56% from the field.
Negative notes :
√ - C.J Miles did hit the game-winner in Los Angeles and held Kevin Durant to just 3 points. But his shooting has been off, shooting just 31% from the field, 13% from three and 63% from the line.
√ - Th bench averaged 20.5 points, almost 10 points less then in November.
