I'm not sure. I'm looking at other cornrows, maybe there's another player with hair more similar to G-force's.

Yeah I get it. But I don't know how you can make only a part of the hair transparent though.

Sick tutorial as always bro Pdub :applaud: but i have got one question for you is there is a way to add hair to a bald player using 3D Max without going through all this hex editing like copying hair from a player then paste it into the bald player then re shaping it to fit to the new headshape. THANKS IN ADVANCE.

No. It does involve a little hex editing, but it's alot easier to shape the hair in 3ds max since you can select it by itself.

Basically you find the player with the hair you want to start with, export the head model with the IFF tool, export the bald head model you want to put the hair on, and hex edit that model into the head model with hair, and load it up in 3ds max. From there you can freeze the head model element and edit the vertices of the hair to match it. It's not very hard at all once you get past the hex editing.

Thanks bro Pdub for the answer but it still a bit difficult for me to understand for example what i want to do is to add Rudy Fernandez hair to Michael Finley's headshape how i can do this in details PLEASEEEEE. Sorry for pothering you

I hope you are using the 3DS Max 9 plugin, or atleast have the tools that were released. If you don't, this will make no sense. Okay, "Export modding" of both their headshapes with the , naming them so you recognize which one is which. Open both in a hex editor. In the Michael Finley headshape file, on the first line you should see 4 zero's in a row. You need to copy 70F8 size of data beginning after those four zeroes over 70F8 of data in the Rudy Fernandez headshape file. Then you need to import Michael Finley's textures into Rudy Fernandez's IFF file.

From there you can edit the headshape with hair in 3DS Max or use the IFF Tool and "import modding" to get the new headshape into Fernandez's IFF file. Renmae Fernandez's IFF file to match Finley's, and you done. It won't be perfect if you don't adjust it in 3DS Max 9 before importing.

That's how it's done, you actually have to add the headshape to the hair, not the hair to the headshape. That's why you are adding to Fernandez's IFF file and not Finley's. So yeah, make a backup of Fernandez of course.

Thanks bro Pdub for the explanation you are the best. Of course iam using the 3DS Max 9 plugin and i will try this as soon as i get back home.

Here is my problem bro i did as you said exactly i exported the .n2km file from Finley's .iff file and opened it with the Hex Workshop and i found the 0000 in the first row. from here iam totaly lost i know that i should copy the hex values from the first number after the 0000 in the first row in order to paste it over the exported .n2km file from Rudy's .iff file but up to where i should copy that is my question? that's what i cannot determine. PLEASE help me...

Up to 70F8 of data. Not 70F8 the offset, but 70F8 of size. That's what I meant by 70F8 size of data. If you are using Hex Workshop you can click after the zeroes and press CTRL+G to "go-to" and offset and put in 70F8 and select the option "from current position" and it will push you 70F8 ahead of where you were, to the exact end of what you need to copy. Then you can scroll up to the beginning, hold shift and click after the 4 zeroes and you should have 70F8 of data selected.
