the scoreboard is covering the screen

Postby rasheed43 on Sun Mar 29, 2009 11:51 am

I am beyond puzzeled about the screen layout on NBA Live 09. I absolutley love this game, but only when I am playing offence on the right half of the court. Reason being, on my 42" plasma the scoreboard is in the middle of the basket when playing on the left side of the court, especially when active players are on the near side. Now I have seen the same game on an Xbox360 and the scoreboard is located far above the backboard, so even when trapped in the near corner the scorebaord is never covering the screen. So I dont know which is correct? Can someone please clear this up for me I will attempt to attach a screenshot? It is driving me insane.

It could be a bug in the PS3 version which is strange as they should be basically identical. I've got the Xbox 360 version so I've never experienced that, perhaps someone else could shed some more light on the situation.

I've removed your signature, it went beyond acceptable limits of plugging; you might want to check out the rules in that regard. If you have any questions, please feel free to PM me.

I agree, I would just assume remove the scoreboard. It is not a dependency on the scoreboard, its the fact that if my guy is under the left side basket, I might as well just close my eyes and wait to see whether the other teams inbounds or not to know if it went it. Ive gotten used to it, but the fact that it is not addressed as an issue is odd.

It has something to do with the way the PS3 upscales and how my TV accepts/displays the signal. If someone could elaborate on what the PS3 upscaling is all about, I think I could figure it out from there.

Another thing I have noticed is if I take the same HD cable from the PS3 and plug it in the XBOX360 I have options on my TV to change the aspect ratio (4:3, 16:9 ect.), however when i have the PS3 plugged in, all those options are grayed out. This means nothing to me, but may be some sort of a clue for someone.

What, the next-gen versions don't allow you to put the scoreboard on the bottom of the screen? PS2 allows it (yet I think, they don't allow turning it off)
