Re: OKC - [2-0] Four players score 40+ in game 2 overtime ep

Postby Phil89 on Sun Dec 23, 2012 1:40 pm

Yeah. They generally hang in there during the first half and go on a big third quarter run. It's left me chasing the game in the last quarter in both games. The scores are deceiving because of the AI fouling logic at the end of games which they love so much.

Well I was up by about 20 points before I put my reserves into the game for most of the last quarter. Utah managed to get within 6 points late on but I escaped with the win and now I only need one more. :)

2014 NBA Finals preview

Image

Image

1. Miami [65-17] vs. 1. Oklahoma City [63-19]

Image Image

Oklahoma City and Miami will meet in the NBA Finals once again. It's the 21st century equivalent of the Lakers-Celtics rivarly of the 60's and 80's.
Interestingly it's the first time in the history of the league that the same two teams have faced each other in five consecutive finals series'.
The Heat are still looking to win their first title but are better placed than ever before this season. They have home court advantage this time.
Two of the in-form players in the league will face off. Chris Bosh was voted the MVP this season, whilst Kevin Durant was the scoring champion.
Many experts feel that Durant was actually robbed of the MVP award, considering that he led the league in points and steals by some margin.
His scoring was incredible. He managed a career-high 82 against the Kings. He actually scored 134 points in just three days in Sacramento.
He reached the 50 point mark 5 times, 40 points (x19) and 30 points (x34). He finished nearly 3ppg ahead of second placed Deron Williams.
But apparently Bosh's rebounding numbers and the fact that the Heat finished with the best record in the league swayed the judges votes.
If Oklahoma City are able to win a fifth title, Durant will equal the likes of Magic Johnson, Steve Kerr and Dennis Rodman with five rings.

If this is it for this Dynasty, hopefully it's a memorable Finals. In any case, the thread gets my vote for the Hall of Fame.

Great start to the series, glad to see you drawing first blood in another epic game. Three to go. :)

It probably is it. It was a little bit hard to get back into this for that first game after playing 2k13, but it turned out to be a thrilling game and that helped. I've had a great run with this and I'll definitely make sure I have the save game stored somewhere safe so I can pick it up sometime in the future maybe.

I've already got a team picked out for 2k13. Pretty much the complete opposite of where my Thunder team is at. A nice challenge. :) I won't start anything until this series is over though.

It's crazy to me that between my two dynasty threads I've had 3k+ replies and 76k views (half are probably just mine though :P )

Fair enough I guess. I haven't really checked out that many 2k associations either. It's easy to get caught up in your own thing and not notice all of the interesting threads here. I'm impressed by 2k13 so far and can't wait to start an association game.

First clue for anyone who feels like guessing which team I picked to use on 2k13: It's not a team from the western conference.

Durant relaxed despite finals series being tied after four games

Image

Kevin Durant is probably the calmest person in Oklahoma City at the moment, despite his team being tied 2-2 in the NBA finals against Miami.
The superstar forward has been head-and-shoulders above the rest in the finals so far. He's averaging 38 points per game without much trouble.
Regardless of the result, Durant can be found after just about any Thunder game talking about the need to keep working and getting better.
It was his approach when the Thunder started 3-29. It's the same now that the team are on the brink of a fifth championship, just six years later.
He has never been about glitz and glamour. His winning combination has been his humility, hard work and his determination to improve his team.
The Thunder only need two more wins to secure their fifth championship in as many years and cement Durant's place as one of the games legends.

His relentless pursuit to better himself has been a massive part in creating a dynasty that is equivalent to the 50's Lakers, 60's Celtics and 90's Bulls.
"There's always another level you can go to. In basketball, you always can be better at something, I think," Durant said after Oklahoma City's practice.
"All of the awards and titles I've won aren't the reason I play ball. Once I've finished playing I'll definitely look back at these achievements with pride."
Durant also gave Thunder fans some reason to be positive about his future in Oklahoma City, stating his admiration for his adopted hometown.
"The city is just so laid-back and quiet, and that's the type of person I am, and it fits me really well. It's just a nice place to relax, and I enjoy it."
The Thunder host the Heat in game 5 of the NBA finals tomorrow night. They will be hoping for a win as games 6 & 7 will be played in Miami.
