In the last two seasons the Oklahoma City Thunder have completely turned the tables on the Los Angeles Lakers. Things were very different at the start of the 2009-10 season. The Lakers were coming off a 4-1 Finals win against Orlando and Oklahoma City were coming off a disappointing 23–59 season. But Thunder coach Scott Brooks has transformed his team into a double championship winning powerhouse. Under Brooks' guidance the Thunder have assembled a hugely talented squad and are playing up to their potential.
Kevin Durant has established himself as one of the elite players in the NBA, winning consecutive Finals MVP awards. Brandon Roy is quickly becoming one of the best scorers in the league. He is currently third in the league averaging 25.8 ppg. Also blossoming at their new club are Roy's former Blazers team mates, Greg Oden and LaMarcus Aldridge. They have been integral to the Thunder's success against teams in the West with dominant big men. (e.g Los Angeles)
Oklahoma City come into this game having lost 2 of their last 3 games. They have an 11-5 record and seem unable to find consistency in their play. The Lakers on the other hand have a 7-7 record and are struggling since losing Pau Gasol to Memphis.

It's interesting to see Portland, Sacramento and Golden State doing so well considering how poor they all were last season. Also Miami have made a huge turnaround. They finished bottom in the East last season and are dominating this season.

Nice streak, keep it up! Shame you missed out on a triple double with Aldridge but that's still a fine stat line. Entertaining sequence with Roy and Gay's three pointers, too.
I only found out that Aldridge was on 8-9-9 with a couple minutes left in the game. The rebound and the points were relatively easy to get. I tried to get him that last assist, but it just didn't happen.
Oh well. I've got another Lakers game coming up soon I think.
