Bron will once again eat J-Rich alive... You could put Beasley on him coz he is a bigger body... Good Luck but I think the Cavs will win again...

Mayo's 50 points Propels Bobcats to Triple-OT Win
Image

It was a magical evening at the Quicken Loans Arena, Cleveland, as both teams hit some big clutch shots down the stretch and sent the game, eventually, to a rare Triple Overtime game, in which the Charlotte Bobcats were able to pull away with the win; It all started with Mayo's layup with 10.1 seconds to go in regulation, that tied the scores at 100 and sent the game to the first OT, then it was Mo Williams, hitting a big 3 with 34.7 remaining and took a 2 point lead, but Yuta Tabuse was able to respond late with 8.4 remaining with a Jumper to tie the game and sent it into Double-OT, it was here that Cavs Star Lebron James fouled out with 49.1 seconds remaining, and Mayo sinked the 2 Free Throws that tied the game yet again, this time at 136 apiece, then with some good defense, got the ball back and into J-Rich's hands, who quickly shot a 3 and took a 3 point lead, but Mo Williams responded with a 3 of his own with 2.3 remaining and sent the game to the amazing triple overtime period, in which the Bobcats were able to take advantage of King James' absence and eventually take the game 169-161.

Rookie OJ Mayo had a career high 50 points coming off the bench for the Bobcats, and Yuta Tabuse took home the Player of the day honors after getting 23 points, 3 steals, 5 rebounds, 2 blocks, and a career high 24 assists. The Other Rookie Star Michael Beasley, recently acquired in a deal that involved Bobcats sending former franchise player Emeka Okafor to Miami, had 24 points, 16 rebounds (first double digit rebounding since entering NBA), 3 blocks, 5 steals, and 3 assists; Another Bobcats Standout was of course, the Team Captain Jason RIchardson, who had 26 points and 7 rebounds in 38 minutes.

The Cavs were led by Mo Williams' 45 point performance, an amazing feat since he injured his leg muscles at the very beginning of the game, he was diagnosed with a leg muscle pull and would not be playable until it recovers. Ben Wallace was the other Cavalier standout, with 22 points and 19 rebounds, just 1 rebound shy of a 20-20 performance. Daniel Gibson had 29 points and 13 assists, but the main focus in this game, King James, who is currently at the top of the MVP rankings, had an off night, scoring just 16 points and grabbing 7 boards in 34 minutes played, he was in foul trouble all game and was fouled out late in double overtime.

The Bobcats have now broken their 2 game losing streak and has a record of 24-13. However, Head Coach Larry Brown said that the team needs to be more aggressive and stop relying on those outside 3 pointers if they truly wish to contend, as well as playing much better defense from now on.

With Mayo leading the way, Bobcats 2nd Unit rips Nuggets apart
Image

Despite his 36 point, 8 assist performance, The Answer could not come up with an answer for the Bobcats' 6th man, the rookie, Ovinton J'Anthony Mayo, who had 34 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals coming off the bench to lead the Bobcats second unit, yes thats right, the reserves, to a massive blowout on the visiting Denver Nuggets, with the starters all playing from as little as 12 minutes (O'Neal) to the maximum of just 18 minutes (Beasley, Richardson), the Bobcats ripped the Iverson led Nuggets apart with ease en-route to an incredible 40 point win, 130-90.

The Nuggets had 33 turnovers to the Bobcats' 19, and this limited them to take just 76 shots in the entire game, which was a huge factor in why they lost by such a big margin; they scored only 15 points in the entire first quarter, tried to make a comeback in the second, but was still outscored 26-22, and the second half was when their nightmare began, as the Mayo-led Bobcats scored 37 points in the 3rd, and a whopping 40 points in the 4th, a combination of 77 points in the second half, in contrast, the Bobcats only gave up 53 points to the Nuggets.
"We just didn't take care of the ball, and the guys started losing faith, stopped playing hard after the despairing first quarter, and our inability to make a comeback in the second" said Iverson, who led the game in scoring with 36 points "I think we just got outworked tonight, they came out ready to play, and were all shooting with a hot hand (the Bobcats shot 61% from the field on 57-94 shooting), we shot well too (55%) but just couldnt take care of the basketball"

Larry Brown, coach of the Bobcats, basically used his Reserve unit for most of the game, often having just the reserve unit on the floor, or at the most, 2 starters with the reserved unit throughout most of the second half, and right after his starters got off to a 27-15 lead in the first quarter.
"I thought we played really well, and didn't see a need of playing the guys that many minutes, we were lucky that the opponent was not ready for the game tonight, and this was just a great opportunity to rest our guys for the next game, as well as give the bench guys a chance to play some heavy minutes" said Brown after the game, 3 of the guys (Mayo, Augustin, Davidson) i thought played exceptionally well, and all of the guys played really hard, which was a good sign" Brown, however did not comment on why he did not allow Carroll to play in the game at all, instead at times, played both point guards Eric Snow, and DJ Augustin on the floor at the same time while giving the 5 starters, and their 6th man Mayo a rest; it has been rumored that Carroll was unhappy with his place on the team with the various Player Movements, and the fact that he turned from a starting 2 guard to a rarely seen bench player, is having chemistry problems with the rest of the guys (besides Carroll and Alexis, especially Carroll, the rest of the guys are sharing great chemistry between them), it is speculated that Team Owner Jordan is just keeping Carroll on the team for his 5 million dollar expiring contract.

Postby Valor on Thu Dec 11, 2008 11:10 pm

kaiser_kobe well, salaries wont match, Ariza makes nearly 2 million i think..Karl is just there cause Lakers cant take another player (roster full) he's cheap, and expiring, i wanted Sun Yue (500k salary and 70 overall) but they wont give up that much...

C-77 yeah, he wont be playing that much, or at all, i'm gonna keep him in the active rotation over Matt Carroll though, Carroll is messing up the team's chemistry

thanks for the comments guys, and thanks for following

yeah, i know, i got too many trades..
but i think i can stop dealing now (besides wanting to trade coby karl for pick or something...), my team looks ok to go deep into the playoffs :D
think of the first 2 trades as a three team trade lol, i had to get blount before i get snow...
now i have 7 or 8 solid players on my roster, i'm ready to go.

2009 All Star Weekend Preview

It says All Star Weekend 2009 in Phoenix, but it would look like the All Star Weekend from the previous year as the factory responsible for the Court of the all star weekend made a blunt mistake and manufactured the old 08 New Orleans court instead. "It is unfortunate that this kind of mistake was made, it is too late to correct it, so we'll just have to stick with this i guess. Hopefully our fans would not mind this and enjoy this weekend, same goes to all participants of the All Star Weekend this year" said Suns team owner Robert Sarver.

- There would be 3 rounds in this year's contest. Other rules are same as previous years.
- Toronto Raptors guard Jason Kapono Would NOT be defending his title after back to back wins in the 08, and 07 contests, he said that he would like to spend the weekend resting and focusing on the second part of the season rather then coming in to Phoenix to defend his crown.
