Game 1 – Eastern Conference Finals: Detroit Pistons vs. New York Knicks ( series at 0-0)

The Pistons are the favourite of the media pundits to win the trophy, mainly due to their team-first attitude, unselfish play and strangling defence. Those traits were evident in Game 1, with the Wallaces putting up stop signs in the lane on defense, keeping Lamar Odom to 14 points with abysmal shooting percentages. Billups and Hamilton were scoring when necessary, but the main man on the Pistons’ offense was Tayshaun Prince, who had really evolved into an offensive weapon for them this season. Prince finished the game with 21 points and also had 4 blocks on defence, with those long arms of his. Odom’s 14 rebounds and 6 assists, along with Magloire’s 21points, kept the game close but did not bring about victory.

Result: The Pistons grab a low scoring victory, 86 – 81, and lead the series 1-0.

Game 2– Eastern Conference Finals: Detroit Pistons vs. New York Knicks (Pistons lead series 1-0)

This one was not as ugly a game as the one that preceded it, but the end result was all the same. Another close victory at home for Detroit, and a 2-0 lead in the series. Tayshaun Prince was once more the leading scorer for the home team with 23 points, adding 7 rebounds and 5 assists to go along. Ben Wallace had 18 rebounds and 7 blocks, most of them on poor Brian Grant who was ridiculed on more than one occasion going to the basket. Odom’s 20 points and 11 rebounds did not give New York victory, mainly because Chauncey Billups managed to completely shut down Jamal Crawford, who was stuck at 8 points and 6 assists.

Result: Detroit wins game 2 with a score of 103 – 98, and now had a convincing 2-0 lead in the series.

If you have a digital camera, take a properly lighted straight-up pic of yourself (mouth closed!), then go to the Patch request forum and ask for someone to make you a CF... don't forget to suggest a headshape...

This isn't looking too good. Maybe you need a lineup change to matchup with the Pistons frontline a little better.

I will bud, I have a lot of Euroleague CFs and portraits available for all you guys without one...

I tried moving Lamar at 3, but then Sheed is partying on offense underneath the basket... Only team play can beat the Pistons...

Game 3-Eastern Conference Finals: New York Knicks vs. Detroit Pistons (Pistons lead series 2-0)

The Pistons came in the Garden and enforced their game style and tempo on the Knicks, keeping them below 80 points on defense and having a stroll heading to a 3-0 lead in the Eastern Conference Finals. Rasheed Wallace had a monster of a game, with 30 poinst, 17 rebounds, and 5 blocks, almost single handedly leading his team to victoty. Add to this the impressive defensive efforts of Ben Wallace, Prince and Billups and you kind of get the game picture. Jamal Crawford was trying to revive the Knicks, finishing with 16 points, 11 assists and 6 steals, but he was all too alone in his efforts to make a difference.

Result: Detroit wins 79 – 91, makes it 3-0 in the series and is almost in the Finals as of now…

Game 4-Eastern Conference Finals: New York Knicks vs. Detroit Pistons (Pistons lead series 3-0)

The Knicks avoided the sweep by putting up a fine display for a change. The tempo was beneficial to the home side, with fast breaks and offensive rebounds , and Jamal Crawford running the point admirably. JC had 18 points and 10 assists, Odom added another 18 with 9 rebounds, and Mike Dunleavy’s 17 points off the bench helped lead New York’s second unit throughout the game. From Detroit, Ben and Rasheed Wallace were uncharacteristically loose and laid-back on defense, obviously thinking that this series had already been won by the Pistons. Well, at least for now, they were wrong.

Result: New York wins 104 – 94, reduces the deficit to 3-1 and can now only hope for a near miracle to turn it around.

I guess you can possibly make history here. It's just those Knickerbockers are going to have to hold their heads up high and have some pride.
