Game Two a layup for the Knicks.

Kevin Garnett had 29 and 11. The game was another high-scoring affair as both teams were in the hundreds at the end of the third quarter. Knicks had a 7 point lead after one, but shot poorly in the second allowing the Pistons to get back into the game. Knicks took an 8 point lead into the third. But in the fourth, the Knicks made a run and put the game out of reach. The biggest lead of the game was 19, by the Knicks.

Baron Davis had his playoff-high of 13 assists. Pistons' Mike Bibby had 36 points and 7 assists. Rodney Rogers had 16 rebounds.

Yeah. I'd be pissed if he was doing this with Paul Pierce there. This would be a lot different series.

:x Paul Pierce's injury cheated me out of my revenge.

They're not the same team.

I think they're defense sucks actually. I've had some really high-scoring games against them. I didn't score this much in the first round vs. the Bulls.

Knicks win game 3 in OT, Take 3-0 lead in series, And look to Sweep Wednesday at the Palace.

Knicks lead by 5 with 9.4 seconds left, when Mike Bibby hit a 3 to bring the Pistons within two. Pistons then fouled Baron Davis with 7.1 seconds left on the clock. Baron missed the first free-throw, but got the second one to make it a three point game. Bibby then hit another one to tie the game! Baron Davis then heaved up a prayer and it rimmed out.

In Overtime, Knicks built a lead again. With 16.7 seconds to go, the Pistons were again down by 5. But Mike Bibby fouled out putting Baron Davis back on the free-throw line. Baron Davis knocked down both free-throws, putting the Knicks up by 7. With Bibby out of the game, the Pistons had no more late-second heroics and lost their third straight to the Knicks.

Kevin Garnett had another stellar performance, scoring 42 off a very efficient 26 shots. Vladimir Radmanovic was the team-leader in rebounds with 12.

Morris Peterson scored 37 for the Pistons. Rodney Rogers was the game-high in rebounds with 15, while Mike Bibby was the game-high in assists with 9. It was still not enough for the Pistons to get their first win of the series.

Game 4 will be Saturday night, again in the Palace of Auburn Hills. Pistons will hope to force the series back to New York for a game 5.

I'm almost scared to look in this thread, because it's just painful to see the Knicks doing so well, it reminds me of how bad they suck in real life. Even though this (bullsh*t :D) you're doing a great job on thsi dynasty. I'm not a big fan of making many trades, but it's keep your dynasty fresh and there's the trade deadline anyway

Morris Peterson had the Play of the Game with this wacky shot that somehow went in.

Knicks win again. 2 for 2 with Sweeps.

The Pistons had the early lead, going into Halftime up by 10. But, in the third quarter, the Knicks picked up their defense and were down only one going into the fourth.

Behind Baron Davis's 37 points and 6 steals, the Knicks swept the Pistons and avenge their season-series sweep at their hands.

Pistons Morris Peterson and Glenn Robinson both had 30-point nights. Lorenzen Wright(16) and Chris Mihm(15) both had a big night off the boards.

The Knicks have won eight straight playoff games, and 15 overall. They will face the winner of the Philadelphia vs. Milwaukee series in the Eastern Conference Finals. Knicks went 2-2(1H/1A) in the season series with the 76ers and 3-0 in the season series with the Bucks. The 76ers lead the Bucks 3-1.

Playoff History

New York Knicks vs. Philadelphia 76ers

Last year, the Philadelphia 76ers fell short of making the NBA Playoffs, The Knicks made the Playoffs, but got swept by the New Jersey Nets 4 games to none in the First Round.

1955: New York Knicks defeated the Syracuse Nationals in four games in the Eastern Division Finals

1959: Syracuse Nationals swept the New York Knicks in two straight in the Eastern Division Semifinals

1978: Syracuse Nationals swept the New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference Semifinals

1990: New York Knicks swept the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round of the Playoffs

Each team won 2 of their 4 Playoff match-ups.

Playoff Experience

Mehmet Okur: Finals
Kevin Garnett: Conference Finals
Kyle Korver: none
Baron Davis: Conference Semifinals
Gilbert Arenas: none
Chris Mihm: none
Vladamir Radmanovic: First Round
Charlie Ward: Finals
Steve Smith: Finals
Samaki Walker: Finals
Casey Jacobsen: First Round

Shaquille O'Neal: Finals
Elton Brand: none
Al Harrington: Conference Finals
Doug Christie: Conference Finals
Mike James: Finals
Tyronn Lue: Finals
Nene: First Round
Kareem Rush: Finals
Vin Baker: Conference Semifinals

Knicks
Finals: 4
Conference Finals: 1
Conference Semifinals: 1
First Round: 2
None: 3

76ers
Finals: 4
Conference Finals: 2
Conference Semifinals: 1
First Round: 1
None: 1

Both teams have reached similar heights in the Playoffs, but the edge in experience would definately have to go with the Philadelphiav 76ers. Having Shaquille O'Neal, a 3-time NBA Champion with the Los Angeles Lakers, gives them a big name that's gotten to the Finals and won the Championship. None of the Knicks key big names haven done that.

Season Series

Tuesday, November 9: Knicks defeat the 76ers 78-91 (1-0) @ Madison Square Garden
Friday, December 17: 76ers defeat the Knicks 80-90 (1-1) @ Wachovia Center
Monday, February 14: Knicks defeat the 76ers 117-104 (2-1) @ Wachovia Center
Thursday, February 24: 76ers defeat the Knicks 125-122 (2-2) @ Madison Square Garden

The season series was even (2-2). Both teams won on the other's home floor.

New York Knicks have the best record in the league (62-20) and have won fifteen straight going into this series. They swept the Chicago Bulls(8) in the First Round and the Detroit Pistons(4) in the Conference Semifinals.

Philadelphia 76ers (47-35) are the #6th seed in the East. But they beat the #2 and #3 seeds to get to the Eastern Conference Finals. They swept Atlanta(3) in the First Round and beat the Milwaukee Bucks(2) in 5 games in the Conference Semifinals.

Kyle Korver for 3! One of many.

Knicks win Game One. Break record for most threes. Shoot Sixers out of the building.

4 of the first 5 shots made were 3-pointers. The game was a scorers dream. By Halftime, the Knicks had outscored the 76ers by 22 points. And they had 71!

By the end of it, Knicks broke the record for most three-point field goals made in a game, with 21. The Knicks connected on 21 of 55 three-point field goals attempted (38%). The Knicks and Sixers also tied the NBA record for most three-point field goals made by both teams in a game (29). The Knicks hit 21 and the Sixers hit 8. The previous record for most for most three-point field goals made in a game was set December 17, 1996 with the Atlanta Hawks at Dallas Mavericks. Knicks and Sixers tie with the Denver Nuggets (16) and Seattle SuperSonics (13), who set the record March 20, 1997 at Seattle.

A big reason for the loss was the Sixers turning the ball over. They had 30 turnovers, while the Knicks only had 10. Although out-rebounding the Knicks by 25 and getting to the line more, the Knicks had 19 more field-goal opportunities. Knicks had 18 steals to the Sixers 5. The steals came off pressure from the Knicks backcourt on the Sixers point guards. The Sixers backcourt is going to have to take care off the ball if they're going to stand any chance at making this a series.

Kyle Korver was big, scoring 37. Sixers Elton Brand had a double-double 29 pts and 19 rebounds.

This is the Knicks sixteenth straight win, including the regular season. Game Two of the series will be Friday night at the Garden.

Shaq about to give Radmanovic a facial.

Countered. Sixers even up the series. Take Home court.

The Philadelphia 76ers went into Madison Square Garden and did what no other team has been able to do this offseason, beat the New York Knicks. The Knicks lost Game Two of the best-of-seven series Eastern Conference Finals 126-125. The Knicks first loss in almost two months. In the process, they've lost home court and will have to look at winning a game at the Wachovia Center.

The story of the game was Shaquille O'Neal vs. Kevin Garnett in the middle. Both had relatively quiet games and each seemed to counter everything they other one did. The Sixers big men, Shaq and Elton Brand, clogged the lanes making it harder for the Knicks guards to get easy baskets and limited Kevin Garnett’s post-presence. Shaq himself had a quiet night as well.

The Sixers came into the game wanting to proove that they could beat the Knicks following their disastrous performance Wednesday night in a 23 point loss at Madison Square Garden, in which the Knicks hits on 21 of 55 threes and broke the record for most three-pointers made in a game by a team.

In the first half, Sixer small forward Al Harrington and Knick guard Baron Davis were battling back and forth with the Knicks sporting a 3 point lead heading into the Half. In the second half, Baron Davis continued taking on the scoring load, driving to the basket, and ultimately finished with 36. Kevin Garnett was not able to be a dominant force in the paint with Shaquille O'Neal there countering his presence. Doug Christie took on the offensive showing he still has offensive abilities and that he's not just a defensive threat. Christie finished with a Sixer team-high 35 points.

When the Knicks played their bench in the second half, the Sixers took control of the game and built a lead that the Knicks starters were not able to make up.

This is the Knicks first loss in the Playoffs and first in their last seventeen games. Game Three of the series will be Sunday night at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
