So I had a couple questions for everyone:

1) 3-pointers are impossible for me to make for me. Even when Arenas is wide open and with a perfect release, he'll miss 9/10 times. The computer seems to better than me. Right now sliders are like 55 short, 53 medium, 50 long, and computer is the same. I saw some other slider threads, and the long range sliders were higher than both short and medium, why? and What should I do?

2) Should I keep trying to get Payton? He won't sign, we're a little off, but I'm sure he'll sign eventually. Do you think this is a smart move? Should I use him as trade bait? Or should I then trade either Sarunas or Hudson? (have to trade at least 1 of the 3, otherwise will ahve 4 pgs + arenas on roster)

3) Should I try and get Paul Millsap? He's only a 63 in a the game, but if I train him, do you think it will be beneficial for my team? I'd probably either trade Sarunas, Hudson or O'Bryant for him. My only concern is that technically we wouldn't have a backup center, although I've been playing Brandan Wright or Austin Croshure as center when Biendrens isn't in...

Denver, CO. (AP Press) -- Playing the 2nd game of a home-away series, the Golden State Warriors took the game once again behind the big guard play of their staring backcourt Baron Davis and Gilbert Arenas, and 6th man Marco Belinelli. Davis had 37 points, 5 assists, and 4 rebounds, Arenas had 31 points, 3 assists and 3 rebounds, while Belinelli had 16 points. Davis was especially brilliant shooting 14-18 from the field and 7-7 from behind the 3-point line, a new career milestone for him. He had 29 entering the 4th, but chose to defer to the red hot Arenas in the final period. Arenas had only 11 points before going off in the decisive quarter, getting into a heated scoring duel with rival guard, Allen Iverson who had 35 to lead the Nuggets.

The game was close through, but the Warriors were able to finally pull away in the final minutes after Arenas' 3-point basket, put the Warriors up 113-109 with 33.5 seconds to play. Nugget's point guard, Anthony Carter missed a pullup on the next possession, and the Warrior's closed the game out on free throws. The Warriors outscored the Nuggets 40-29 in the final period.

"I don't man, it was like anything that left mine or Gil's fingers was going in. We both just couldn't miss, and when it gets like that, its dangerous for the other team. If we keep this up all season- wow! I'm glad I'm on the Warriors," said Davis with a laugh.

Carmelo Anthony and Kenyon Martin each added 20 for Denver. Martin, who was seen visibly jawing with Warrior's rookie Brandan Wright took it right at him possession after possession in the 4th. He scored 8 of his points in the quarter, glaring at Wright the entire time. Wright, had 6 points and an impressive 11 rebounds in response.

Houston, TX. (AP Press) -- In a rematch of the league's 2 best teams, the Houston Rockets were able to avenge their 103-100 defeat against the Warrior's just weeks earlier. This time, the Rockets were able to dominate the game taking a 20 point lead in the 3rd quarter. Yao Ming, played his best game ever as a pro scoring an unbelievably 64 points and grabbing a game high 13 rebounds. He embarrassed his competition, particularly, Warrior's starting center Andreis Biedrens, who was helpless to stop Yao. The Chinese-born player scored from the block, from the elbow, on dunks, etc. Biedrens didn't even manage to score a point and collected only 4 rebounds in a losing effort.

Meanwhile, the Warrior's hot guard play continued from last night's win against Denver, with Gilbert Arenas scoring 35, Baron Davis scoring 27 and dishing out 6 assists and rookie Marco Belinelli having 19. However, Davis and Arenas did not put up their impressive stats until the 4th, as they tried to rally the Warriors to victory. Their efforts were unsuccessful however, since they couldn't do much to help stop Yao.

"We need better post defenders, this is getting a bit ridiculous," said Don Nelson. "From Dirk scoring 64 in the first few weeks, to Bosh scoring 32 a month ago, to Yao scoring 64 tonight, how are we letting this happen?"

1) If you feel that your sliders aren't giving you the results you want, by all means bump them up! There's nothing wrong with having different sliders to suit your personal prefence. I say, whatever works for you, works for you.

2) I don't like the idea of going after Payton, especially if he costs too much money. I think the guard rotation that you have right now is perfect.

3)I think Paul Millsap is one of those guys that can really bolster your bench. To be honest, I don't think O'Bryant will be a huge loss since you don't seem to play him anyway. I think in order to realistically trade for him you should include something a little more than just some old players because the Jazz are pretty high on Millsap so it would take at least some talent to pry him away from their fingers.

2) I don't really like Hudson or Sarunas, both kinda suck, I want a better backup, and I'm sure Payton will retire after this season, he only wants a 1 year contract. We'll see though

3)Millsap will be tough to get, because I don't think I have anything and are willing give up to get him, that the Jazz want. Millsap is only a 63 overall, I forgot to edit him. So I'm not exactly sure what to use for him...

Its Official: Payton Signs with Hometown



Oakland, CA (AP Press) -- Two weeks after news first broke out of the potential Gary Payton signing, GM Chris Mullen and coach Don Nelson have convinced Payton AKA "The Glove" to sign for the mid-level exception, approximately $5,360,000 for 1 year. Payton was only looking for a short term deal, due to his age (39). He will be the primary backup for star point guard Baron Davis, replacing Sarunas Jasikevicius' role. Nelson felt that the team needed a more reliable point guard who could defend better than Jasikevicius, so Mullen approached Payton at the beginning of December.

Payton was of course hesitant to sign right away. He felt that he was too old to play in Nelson's run-n-gun style and that he wouldn't be effective. Nelson assured him that with natural athleticism combined with the fact that he wouldn't be playing starter's minutes, that this would not be a issue. Then there was the conflict of money. His agent, Aaron Goodwin held out at the beginning of the year, trying to decide which was the best fit for his client. Payton, definitely wanted to win another championship, but he also wanted to play an important role for the team, in addition to his salary demands. Golden State initially only presented 2 of his 3 traits that he was looking for, but as the season progressed Payton lowered his demands.

With Golden State becoming a surprising favorite to contend for the NBA championship in 2007-2008, and finally in a position to come back home, Payton called Goodwin to tell him to get the deal done with Mullen. On 1/1/08, he officialy joined the Warriors. However, the rest of the team was in Dallas, preparing for their game against the Mavs, just set to begin in a few hours. Payton flew from his home in Miami to Oakland to pass his physical, and the deal was done. His first practice will be tomorrow on thursday, when the Warriors return home.

Dallas, TX. (AP Press) -- In Golden State's first visit back to Dallas, the crowd booed fiercely as they show their hatred for the team that eliminated their Mavs in last year's opening round. Baron Davis received the loudest jeers of all, and the crowd almost became as loud as the Oracle when Davis' name was announced during the starting lineups. Davis was also booed every time he touched ball. This may have affected him, however as he was limited to just 8 points on 2-8 shooting. He did manage to dish out 8 assists as well though. However, Gilbert Arenas, who wasn't there last year, didn't receive any boos, managed to torch the Mavericks for 38 points in just 3 quarters of play. Coach Don Nelson, opted to rest him the final quarter with the Warriors holding a 12 point advantage. Most of the starters were pulled early, and rookie Marco Belinelli was able to keep Dallas at bay. He had 25 high off the bench, killing all Maverick runs in the process.

"Man, the crowd didn't get to me, I was just tired after playing so many games in such a short period. Believe me, this had nothing to do with the boos, I've been booed before. I actually find it kinda of flatterying, I musta really worked them last year huh?" said Davis with a wink.

Nevertheless, the Dallas Mavericks so far are 0-2 against the Warriors this season, failing to avenge their defeat once again. Dirk Nowitzki, again burned the Warriors with his 51 points, but alas, it wasn't enough. Former Warrior Erik Dampier, was the only other Dallas player to reach double figures with his 13. All-star Josh Howard was limited to just 9 points, far below his season average.

Note: Warrior's newly signed backup point guard, Gary Payton did not play due to his physical being just a hour before the game. He will join his teammates in Oakland, where they play the Hornets next.

Oakland. CA. (AP Press) -- The matchup between 2 of the league's best point guards was being advertised heavily by the Warrior's advertising department leading up to the game. What they didn't know, was that it was actually the matchup between the shooting guards that would really entertain the crowd. The Warrior's Gilbert Arenas and the Hornet's Peja Stojakovic, squared off, leading their respective teams throughout the game. Arenas had 28 points while Stojakovic had 36. For Stojakovic it was his highest point total in about 18 months. The point guard matchup didn't disappoint either- Chris Paul had 19 points and 4 assists, while Baron Davis had 19 points and 8 assists.

"The guards certainly dominated this game. It was very fun to coach this sort of game." said Coach Don Nelson.

The Warriors were able to cruise for most the game, never really pulling away, yet never letting the Hornets to be completely in it. It was Gary Payton's first game as a member of his hometown team. Payton came off the bench to play 19 minutes, score 9 points, hand out 5 assists, and grab 4 rebounds. His 3-point play (see picture), sealed the game essentially, giving the Warrior's an 8 point with 1:30 to go.

"Aw man, it felt real good to get back out there. Usually it would be a special moment to come back here, but now I get to play here for like 20 games, this is gonna be unreal." said Payton.

Nice acquisition of Payton I guess, and with Barnes (Because Belinelli is shifted to the 2, Pietrus to the 3) out of the picture, he'll the second-string PG instead of third. I don't like him that much any more though, and in real life, he refuses to play for any team without Shaq these days.

Hudson Traded to Bobcats



Oakland, CA (AP Press) -- To coincide with the Gary Payton signing, one day after Payton's impressive debut, GM Chris Mullen has announced that the Warriors have traded former 3rd string point guard, Troy Hudson, to the Bobcats for PF Maurice Taylor. Ironically, Taylor had just signed with the Charlotte this week. While the trade might seem minor at first it actually has more significance that one would think. Hudson is only in the first year of his 3 year, $18 million contract, while Taylor's contract only calls for him to earn $2.54 million this year. The Warriors will almost certainly let him walk after the season (unless he proves something to them), and will free up $4 million in cap room. In addition, it will save team owner Chris Cohan, another 4 million due to Golden State being over the luxury tax line.

On the other side, Charlotte is in desperate need of a point guard after Raymond Felton has gone down to injury 3 days ago. Three days ago, The Bobcats also acquired Spurs reserve point guard Vasilios Spanoulis for a future draft pick. However, when GM Rob Higgins got the call from Mullen that Hudson was available, they quickly worked out a deal. Hudson will remain the starter until Felton comes back, then he will become the primary backup.

Wright Slams home an alley-oop from Payton

Oakland, Ca. (AP Press) -- Facing a surprisingly struggling San Antonio Spurs' team, the Golden State Warriors took advantage, crushing the defending NBA champions 116-87. The Warriors were able to take a commanding 22 point lead entering the 4th quarter, so Coach Don Nelson opted to pull star guards, Gilbert Arenas and Baron Davis and give them valuable rest. Rookie Marco Belinelli stepped up to the challenge, and led the Warriors with 28 off the bench. His consistent play enabled the Warrior's to make sure there was never even a hint of a Spurs' rally. He shot 10-18 from the field, including 6-11 from deep. Davis had 20 points, while Arenas had 23 and 6 dimes.

It was evident how tough the 2007-2008 season has been on the Spurs and they struggled all throughout. Manu Ginobili scored a team high 20 points for the Spurs, and Tim Duncan 16. However, the Spurs, well-known for their tough "d" was helpless against the quicker, younger Warrior team, allowing Belinelli to have wide open jump shots both in the half court set and in transition.

"This was a really good win. I'm really glad we were able to play so nicely against a tough team. The Spurs may be struggling now, but I'm not counting them out. They're still the defending NBA champions and until they are eliminated from the playoffs, thats what they should be considered as." said Nelson.

Baron Davis' and-1 layup ties the game but misses the free throw

Portland, OR. (AP Press) -- In what has been dubbed as the most disappointing loss of the season, the Warrior's were defeated by the Portland Trailblazers 124-118 in overtime. All the Warrior players and coaches were extremely angry at tonight's result, which is strange considering they didn't really play too bad. Gilbert Arenas scored an amazing 48 points, while Baron Davis contributed 28 and 8. Stephen Jackson nearly had a triple-double with 10 points, 7 assists, and 10 rebounds.

Yet, most Golden State fan's feel they should have won this game. The Warrior's were 28-6 entering the game, while the Blazers were only 11-18. Not to mention, several key mistakes were made. For instance, Baron Davis scored on a spectacular layup plus drew the foul with 7.4 seconds to go in regulation. Yet, he rushed the free throw, which sent the game into overtime. "Just chocked, I guess. I'm at a loss, I blew it. I rushed it." said Davis somberly. The Warriors also failed to stopped Jarret Jack, reigning rookie of the year Brandon Roy and 2007's number 1 pick Greg Oden. Jack had 27 points, Roy had 36 and Oden had 29. Travis Outlaw had 15 off the bench. Another costly mistake was Davis' turnovers in overtime. Despite his excellent numbers, he made several key turnovers late in overtime. For instance, with the Warrior's trailing by 5 with possession, and only 38.5 left in the extra period, he was called for a charge against Oden.

"I feel like this might be a turning point for the team. We should have won this, god damnit! said Arenas.

Davis rocks the baby

Oakland, CA. (AP Press) -- Playing just 2 days after their disheartening loss at Portland, the Warrior's managed to rally big against the Memphis Grizzles to take the 104-102. The Warriors had to play nearly flawlessly, outscoring the Grizzles 39-23 in the process. In the end though it came down to Baron Davis' dunk with 6.4 seconds remaining to put the Warriors' ahead for good. Hakin Warrick took a long inbound pass the length of the floor, but his turnaround came after the buzzer had sounded.

Davis played stellar in the final period, scoring 11 of his 15 points in it. He also had 4 steals in the final 8 minutes. Gilbert Arenas also played brilliantly scoring a game high 39 points. Stephen Jackson had 13 and 6 rebounds and Al Harrington had 12. However, they were all upstaged by the Grizzles' Pau Gasol who had a game high 44 points and 9 rebounds. His relenting rugged play created havoc for the Warriors all night. Gasol scored on a mixture of dunks, turnarounds and jumpers, scoring at will almost. He shot 19-25 from the field.

"I'm glad we managed to pull off the win," said Coach Don Nelson. "We almost got embarrassed on our home floor, something none of us want to happen, and luckily we were able to come back."

Oakland, Ca. (AP Press) -- Mike Dunleavy expected some boos in his first game back, but he didn't expect the entire sellout crowd of 20,045 screaming fans to devote their entire attention on him. In Dunleavy's return to the Bay Area, the Golden State Warriors got the better of it blowing out the Pacers 119-99. It was clear from the beginning that the Pacers were overmatched, as the Warriors outscored them 37-25 in the first, and 27-17 in the 2nd. From there on out the Warriors just cruised to the easy victory. "You know my time in the Bay Area was tough. I never quite lived up to my expectations here, but Indiana has given me a fresh slate. I don't hold anything against the warrior fans, in this business you can't focus on that. I'm just going to try and focus and do what I do." said Dunleavy.

The Warriors were led by Gilbert Arenas with his 43 points. Rookie Marco Belinelli played perhaps his most well-rounded game of the season with his 23 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Baron Davis had 10 points and 8 assists, and rookie Brandan Wright had 15 points. Gary Payton was the 5th Warrior player in double figures with 10 points also. The one bright spot for the Pacers was Jermaine O'Neal who had 36 points, but also 4 turnovers. Jamaal Tinsley had just 7 points, but 13 assists.

Minn, MN. (AP Press) -- Trailing 70-43 at halftime, Baron Davis made a vow to his teammates that he would carry them in the 2nd half and they would win the game. Unfortunately for Warrior fans and his teammates, Davis could only fulfill one the 2 promises. He scored 30 of his 35 points in the 2nd half, but his team fell just short losing 121-118. In what has been called their worst first half of the season, the Warriors were embarrassed by the young Timberwolves, who took a commanding lead into the break. The league's best team tried to regroup in the 3rd and 4th but could not pull it out as Davis' 3-pointer rimmed out as time expired. Davis and fellow starting back court mate, Gilbert Arenas had near identical stats, 35 and 4, and 34 and 4 respectively.

The Warriors could not close the margin that much in the 3rd, only outscoring the Wolves by 8, but in the 4th they took off, wining the quarter by 16. It was not enough, however, as the Warriors could not handle the balanced scoring effort by Minnesota. The 'Wolves had 6 players in double figures, and everyone who entered the game scored. The 7th overall draft pick, Corey Brewer led the way with 21 points, while Marco Jaric had 20 off the bench. Brewer also added 11 rebounds.

"Honestly the fact that we almost got blown out by the Timberwolves says a lot about this team. You guys keep saying we are championship material, yet I don't know any championship teams that would allow this to happen. I'm pretty disappointed right now," said Coach Nelson.

Davis tries to hold onto the lead

Indiana, IN. (AP Press) -- Playing the Pacers for the 2nd this week, the Warriors took care of business again, holding off the Pacers for a 102-96 victory. Playing less than 24 hours after their defeat in Minnesota, the Warriors rebounded nicely, blowing out the Pacers through 3 quarter, before nearly letting the lead go in the 4th. For Stephen Jackson and Al Harrington, it was their 2nd game back in the Conseco Fieldhouse after being traded last season, and both posted respectable games. Jackson had 12 points and 8 rebounds, while Harrington had 10 points and 6 rebounds. The Warriors were actually led though by their star guards. Baron Davis had 23 points and 6 assists, and Gilbert Arenas had a team high 27 points and 5 assists. Most notably, the Warriors' starting center, Andries Biedrens played a season low 7 minutes and only recorded 3 rebounds. Rumor has it that he is in Nelson's doghouse.

The Pacers' Jermaine O'Neal once again torched the Warriors with his 29 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Former Warrior Mike Dunleavy, played much better in his new home, scoring 21 points on 8-14 shooting. Troy Murphy also playing against his former teammates scored 9 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and handed on 3 assists in his 6th man role.

"Our team is still searching within ourselves. We know what we have to do, yet sometimes we can't do it. I know our record is good, but we can do better, I promise y'all," said Davis after the game.

(AP Press) -- Playing the 3rd game of their 4 game road trip, the Warriors, instead of being tired and weak, dominated the surprisingly disappointing Chicago Bulls, blowing them out, and winning 104-84 at the United Center. The Bulls coming off a strong season last year, including sweeping the defending champions Miami Heat out of the playoffs are now only 20-20 after tonight's loss. Many had imagined the Bulls taking a giant leap forward this season and become the East's elite team, yet so far the team has managed to fail in their expectations. The Warriors played beautifully, and had 5 players in double figures. Rookie Marco Belinelli had a team high 21 points off the bench, with many of his baskets coming the final period which kept the Bulls at bay. Baron Davis had 15 points and 8 assists, and Gilbert Arenas and Stephen Jackson each had 17. Mickael Pietrus had 11 points in just 12 minutes of play.

The Warriors also played excellent defense, allowing just 2 Bulls players to score in double figures. Kirk Hinrich, the team's lone bright spot scored 33 points, but only rookie Joakim Noah complimented him, with his 11 points. The Bulls shot 31-73 as a team, including Ben Gordon's ridiculous 4-17 shooting night. Center, Ben Wallace, scored just 4 points and grabbed just 5 rebounds- not exactly living up to his contract. Luol Deng, frequently mentioned in trade rumors had only 5 points, and played just 18 minutes.

Belinelli with an impressive jam

Milwaukee, WI. (AP Press) -- The Warriors finished up their 4 game road trip impressively, destroying the Milwaukee Bucks at Bradley Center 113-89. Many coaches know how difficult it is to fire up your team while playing in Milwaukee, but Don Nelson must have succeeded as the Warriors were able to lead by as many as 30 during the 4th quarter. Gilbert Arenas, once again carried the team, scoring a game high 35 points in just 18 minutes! He sat out the entire 4th quarter. He was on fire when he played though. He shot 14-19 from the field, including 5-5 from behind the 3 point line.

"Ya know, I was just feeling it tonight. The Hibachi was on tonight, I couldn't miss. I warmed up quickly I guess," said Arenas with a wink.

Bucks' star player Michael Redd led his team with 28 points, followed up by Mo Williams 21. Rookie Yi Jianlian had 16 points. The Bucks were thoroughly embarrassed by the Warriors, and their fans let them know it. The crowd began cheering on Warrior baskets sarcastically and booed Bucks players when they touched the ball. On one play, a failed alleyoop hit Andrew Bogut in the head, drawing roars of laughter. The Warriors' Stephen Jackson also torched the Bucks with his 23 points in 21 minutes. He shot 8-10 from the field, and 5-6 from the 3-point line. Marco Belinelli made sure there were no attempts at a Milwaukee comeback with his 19 points and 6 rebounds. Many of his baskets were in the 4th quarter.

Belinelli puts the exclamation point down

Oakland, Ca. (AP Press) -- Is it time to finally dub the Warriors star guard trio of Baron Davis, Gilbert Arenas, and Marco Belinelli, the new "big 3"? Warrior fans certainly think so, and while these 3 guards may not have the same on paper recognition as Boston's [Kevin Garnett + Ray Allen + Paul Pierce] at least Golden State is leading the league, while Boston is struggling to stay in Eastern contention?

In what has become routine, Davis, Arenas and Belinelli led the way for the Dubs, as Golden State cruised to another victory. Arenas had 28 points, Davis had 13 points and 10 assists, and Belinelli had 22 in just 18 minutes off the bench. Arenas and Belinelli were both on fire shooting 10-16 from the filed and 8-13, respectively. They were supplemented by Al Harrington's 14 points and 6 rebounds and Mickeal Pietrus' 11 points.

The Warriors finished off their season series against the Timberwolves, and fans finally breathed a sign of relief. For some odd reason, the Wolves always gave Golden State problems. Coach Don Nelson and his team did manage a 3-1 season series victory, but it wasn't easy. Having had to play 2 close games, and failing to rally back from 27 points down was not what was in their minds when Garnett was trade to Boston.

Minnesota is now led by a huge youth movement, and tonight, it was the #7 overall draft, Corey Brewer, who headed the team. His game high 29 points paced the Timberwolves, but it wasn't enough to match the Warriors' aggressive play. Only Rashad McCants and Sebastian Telfair reached double figures for Minnesota besides Brewer. McCants had 16 points and Telfair had 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists.

"Give credit where credit is due. Minnesota was not a easy team to play against," said Nelson. "We always had hard times against them, and even though tonight was a blowout, the final score is not what it seems, we really had to work and the score should have been a lot closer."

The Warriors have now won 4 in a row following last week's defeat to these same T'Wolves. In one of their easiest weeks yet, they have just one game remaining against the Nets at home. Next week will be much tougher, with 3 games in the first 4 days.

Arenas Splits the Defenders

Oakland, CA. (AP Press) -- The matchup between the New Jersey Nets and Golden State Warriors was hyped: the battle of teams with their own big 3's. Baron Davis Vs. Jason Kidd, Gilbert Arenas Vs. Vince Carter, and Marco Belinelli Vs. Richard Jefferson. Not to mention it was Kidd's only trip back to his hometown.

The overwhelming crowd of 19,875 cheered and roared throughout the night as Davis, Arenas and Belinelli got the better of their counter-parts and took the game 105-96. The game was close basically through out the game, but the Warriors were able to barely pull away by the 3rd, going up by 7 entering the 4th.

However, the Nets fought back and were able to tie the game with 4:46 remaining on Carter's 3-pointer. That basket marked the end of the Nets' 10-2 run, but after a Warriors' timeout, Golden State stormed back. Arenas hit back to back jumpers off feeds from Davis and the Warriors never relinquished control again.

Davis had a brilliant all around game, scoring 19 points, handing out 10 assists, registering 6 steals, and collecting 5 rebounds. Arenas had a team high 27 points and also distributed 7 assists. Belinelli had 11 points in 17 minutes. The Nets big three also played well. Kidd had 17 points, 6 assists, and 4 rebounds. Carter had a game high 28 points and Jefferson had 11 points. Their efforts just about matched their big 3, but the Warriors also had additional significant production from other players unlike New Jersey.

Stephen Jackson had 14 points, Andries Biedrens and rookie Brandan Wright had 8 each, and Al Harrington had 9. Jamal Magloire had 10 points, and Derek Fisher had 9 for the Nets. In the end though, the Nets just couldn't keep up with the league's best team.

"Yeah they really don't have too many holes, they are playing like the favorite [to win it this year]," said Kidd. "I'm not sure who can beat them in a 7-game series, I thought we played pretty well and they played bad, yet we still lost. I'm just frustrated, I'm sick of losing."
