Yeah that would be nice... I think I kept Farmar and Send Parker and Kwame, but for some reason I doubt that they would accept it... Anyways I'm not trying it know, cause I'm still waiting for the fucking patch...
Luke Ridnour’s performance Luke Ridnour who started in the first 5, scored 39 points got 4 steals and dished 3 assists, making him the player of the game. He started big, scoring 15 points in the first quarter. Jordan Farmar couldn’t do anything, Luke was passing by everyone and if he even missed a shot, players like Chris Wilcox or Johan Petro would rebound it and do an amazing dunk.
Bench production Phil Jackson let us know before the game, that Kobe and Lamar won’t be showing… He said he wants to tryout his bench once again. Andrew Bynum scored 14 points in 13 minutes, Brian Cook 25 points in 21 minutes, Jordan Farmar 14 points in 20 minutes, Sasha Vujacic 6 points in 14 minutes, Chris Mihm 14 points in 20 minutes, Ronny Turiaf 3 points in 11 minutes, Shammond Williams 9 points in 19 minutes, Luke Walton 5 points in 22 minutes. Jackson says he won’t be trying out his bench anymore this preseason and hopes to bring the best performance for the last game…
Selfishness in Seattle? The Sonics dished out only 8 assists and players like Ray Allen, Luke Ridnour, Rashard Lewis were shooting at every chance they got. Sonics made 4 of 16 three-points and missed 52 shots in total.
I really like Cook's stats. How are gonna use him in the season? Any hopes that he can make a starting 5 spot, or will he play behind Odom and Radmanovic?
You played Seattle pretty close considering how powerful there offence is. Damn Kwame, I hope you can make something of him he hasn't lived up to his hype...
Radmanovic shines in preseason final… Vladimir Radmanovic scored 25 points, garbbed 5 rebounds and dished out 2 assists, not to mention his shooting(5/6 3’s, 10/15 FG’s) making him the player of the game. He led the Lakers in the first quarter by nailing 5 points at the beginning, but when his team-mates noticed he’s got it today, they ran the offense through him more often. Radmanovic hit a three pointer with 35 seconds left to gain the Lakers a two point lead, after then it was all Kobe…
Livingston factor… The Clippers big x-factor, Shaun Livingston played extremely well today… In only 13 minutes he was able to score 19 points(9/13 FG’s) and dish out 2 assists. Team-mates were feeding him the ball at the moment as he was completely unstoppable for the Lakers…
Wrapping up preseason Los Angeles Lakers ended their preseason with a 3-3 record, winning 1 road game and 2 home games. Now, after the end of the preseason team’s management wants to tweak up the roster and there might be many transactions. According to Lakers GM Mitch Kuptchak they’re going to cut down the roster to 15 players and the first candidate to being waves is D.Pinnock. Lakers head coach Phil Jackson said that Maurice Evans will be a great backup for Kobe Bryant and the explanation of that he(Evans) played his first game only today is that Jackson was testing Vujacic throughout the preseason to deside to keep him or not.

New additions As the preseason reached it’s end, we can say: Lakers additions are useful. What do we have in the list: Vladimir Radmanovic, Jordan Farmar, Maurice Evans, Shammond Williams. Radmanovic did great in the last game of preseason scoring 25 points and leading the team to the win against their L.A. rival. He was efficient in previous games also. Farmar is a great addition to the point guard spot. Had good games against Sonics and Hornets, but had short minutes in his last performance. Evans did show up only in one game-the last one. According to Jackson he is the main backup for Kobe. Williams didn’t have any big point nights, but was shooting pretty well throughout the preseason, he will be very useful for the team, if Kobe and Vladimir will start to lag at the perimeter.
Kobe and Lamar Lakers’ can’t wait till Kobe and Lamar will start to play like Kobe and Shaq did few years ago. Phil Jackson was trying to make them co-exist last season and he reached some good results in the playoff battles against the Suns. If Jackson will be doing the same this season, they might get even better results. At the moment Kobe remains as the Lakers center in offense, but if we look at last year’s playoffs, we could see Lamar playing a lot more aggressive and Kobe dishing out the ball easily. So what to expect? “All I can say, that they won’t be worse than last year” – Jackson said.
Predictions Jackson expects much from Kwame this season. The progress is going well and if they reach the goldmine, he could turn into an unstoppable force in the paint. Along the way is Andrew Bynum who put up nice numbers in a few preseason games. Let’s not forget the Lakers’ last season’s MIP-Smush Parker. The high flyer has earned his spot in the first 5 and is really tuning the team up towards. The last season Lakers’ bench kings Luke Walton and Brian Cook are improving and should be even better the last year’s postseason. All in all, newcomers will boost the team and Lakers will make it to the playoffs with a 47-35 record, ranking 3 in division and 7 in conference.
Sunday’s practice The Los Angeles Lakers will meet with Phoenix Suns, on Tuesday, in L.A. The media visited the Lakers in one of their last practices before the season. The Lakers did warm-ups, ran some drills and began shooting before giving interviews to the media.
Phil Jackson interview Jackson was fully recovered from the hip replacement surgery. And answered a few question to the media. Press Agent: “So coach Jackson, how’s your team feeling at the moment?” Phil Jackson: “Currently, we are in good shape, just few players need some more time to fully recover.” P.A.: “What do you expect in game vs Suns?” Phil Jackson: “Well it turned into a rivalry after last season and guys really want a revenge. I believe mentally we’re ready, it only matters how Suns will play. Yeah, we played them in the preseason, but at that moment they weren’t at their best. We weren’t too. I expect everything on Tuesday, maybe Stoudemire’s big comeback, or even Nash’s dominance, actually it doesn’t matter.” P.A.: “Will there be any surprises in the starting lineup?” Phil Jackson: “You know it’s the first game of the season, I’m not planning anything special right now. When the season reaches it’s midway, I will be letting the bench players to taste the starting lineup, but at the moment, I want to build a good lineup.” P.A.: “How’s your condition?” Phil Jackson: “Well as I mentioned before, our team is in good shape, and so am I”. P.A.: “Ok, thank you very much…”.
Kobe Bryant interview P.A.: “Kobe, what’s your condition?” Kobe Bryant: “Well the knee is sore, he was all preseason long, but I’m always ready.” P.A.: “How are you(Lakers), going to show up against Suns?” Kobe Bryant: “I expect to win it, I always do. I think we’re ready, Lamar’s really good, Smush’s also. All the players are excited and the atmosphere is really satisfying.” P.A.: “Are you planning any surprises for the Suns?” Kobe Bryant: “Nah, no surprises. I don’t want to risk my health, I don’t want to do more than I’m supposed to at the moment.” P.A.: “What do you think about the current Suns?” Kobe Bryant: “You know Stoudemire’s back and (Smush shouts: “They suck!”) (Kobe laughs), well you’ve heard him. P.A.: “ Ok last question, what do you think, how will the Lakers newcomers perform against Suns?” Kobe Bryant: “ I do expect much from Radmanovic and Farmar. Coach said, that Farmar will be getting much of time in the season, so he will be important on Tuesday. Radmanovic also will be useful, Diaw isn’t easy do defend, we all hope he can do it. P.A.: Ok thank you.
