17-36 shot attempts!? one of TMAC's ballhog nights

- Slowly but surely LA's other team is climbing up the ranks. Having once started out 1-4, the Los Angeles Clippers have now won 9 in a row to close out the month of January. Led by established star Manu Ginobili and a better than expected rookie, Dylan Lloyd, LA has stormed past their competition, with Ginobili averaging 29.5 points and Lloyd averaging 26.7 points per game during the past month. Now possessing the 4th seed in the tough Western Conference, the team is closing in on the Pacific Division leading Phoenix Suns.
- Despite losing star shooting guard Ben Gordon to free agency this summer, the Chicago Bulls haven't skipped a beat. Somehow, someway, after finishing 33-49 last season, the Bulls are 29-17 right now. With rookie coach Vinny Del Negro being forced to play Luol Deng out of position at the 2, Chicago has been beating their opponents by out rebounding them and owning the paint. Kirk Hinrich has been providing steady leadership and some much needed outside shooting to offset the absence of Gordon.
- Finishing 44-38 for 2 consecutive years and bowing out in the first round, Dwayne Wade has taken his game back to his 2006 playoff level. Wade is averaging 28.2 points, 7.2 assists and 3.6 rebounds. Wade is slashing to the basket at will and is showing no ill effects of his injured knee. "I've just been working out, trying to stay healthy and making my teammates better," Wade has said. Miami is currently in the midst of a 8 game winning streak to shoot up the Eastern Conference standings, the Heat are tied for 2nd with the Indiana Pacers.

- Just 4 weeks before the trade deadline, the New York Knicks and the Los Angeles Clippers have made a trade, with LA sending Marvin Williams to New York in exchange for a 1st round pick and David Lee. The trade has allowed Coach Mike D'Antoni to finally play Zach Randolph who has responded by averaging 22.8 points and 6.2 rebound in his first 3 games. Williams is averaging 11 points and 7 rebounds in his first 3 games as a Knick. Lee meanwhile has taken on the role of providing solid rebouding off the bench for LA. All in all a very productive trade for both teams.

I love it when people say Ginobili flops.... they are just so jealous they want him on their team!
