hova-, Well you see here's the situation, SA is 1st and this won't change, Houston is second and this won't change too, I think, and Phoenix is 3rd. Minny's 4th, but North West division sucks totally this season, no one has .500% winning percentage...

The Los Angeles Lakers defeated Memphis Grizzlies, it’s their 4th win in a row. Lakers went up to 6th spot in the western conference, 2nd in pacific rankings.
Lakers went strong in the first quarter, gaining a 6 point lead at the end of it. Both teams went point by point in the second quarter and finished it 32 to 32, Lakers still had their 6 point lead.
Memphis started strongly by keeping Lakers quite in the first two minutes, though themselves scoring 7 points to take the lead. But Kobe woke up his team with a stunning dunk. Lakers then started successful offense, made a 7-0 run and got back the lead. The next 5 of 7 minutes were going point by point, but in the last two minutes, Eddie Jones and Mike Miller made a 10-0 run to get the lead and win the quarter.
Lakers made a successful comeback in the last period, by knocking in 7 shots in the beginning without an answer from the Grizzlies. But they soon got back with lots of help from Damon Stoudamire. Stromile Swift chipped in 7 points in the last period, Pau Gasol also poured in 7 points. But Lakers’ Kobe Bryant and Lamar Odom weren’t the only players playing, Smush Parker collected 11 assists(career-high), Tyrus Thomas also added 19 points and 9 rebounds. Luke Walton finished the Grizzlies by putting in 7 points in the last three minutes.
Los Angeles Lakers will meet Houston Rockets(2nd in the western conference) on the last day of the month…

10 wins left... You can do it! I am continuing to love this dynasty. I read it, and 24 hours later, 2-3 more games are up. Looking forward to the playoffs. Is it possible to get the 5th seed? It will be an easy first-round win if you can.

Thomas on the mend

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., March 02 -- The Los Angeles Lakers GM Mitch Kuptchak announced that Lakers‘ rookie forward Tyrus Thomas is fully healed. It took only 5 days, though it was expected for at least a week. Tyrus Thomas was injured last week while playing against New Orleans Hornets.

Lamrock13, Yeah I'd like to take the 5th spot, then I'd probably win the series 4-1 or 4-2. But I really doubt I can make it, because Dallas holds it strong, they already have 50 wins and only 23 losses, though Josh Howard and Jason Terry got injured last night so they should lose at least 4-5 games. Now it all depends on me...
Thanks for the comment man, really glad you enjoy my dynasty...

Sun Jan 07, 2007 7:50 am

In real life, what's up with Thomas. Though he was technically the 4th pick, Chicago was going to pick him at #2 any way. He isn't in any rookie rankings. It is as if he doesn't exist. If they knew he would be third of the depth chart, why didn't they draft Brandon Roy or Randy Foye and have him behind Gordon, or even trade him for a good, young back-up center.

I just posted a HUGE update in my 2K7 association. I would like to know if it is any good, so I would like some comments.

Sun Jan 07, 2007 11:32 pm

Nice win, but honestly after all the discussing about the ranks, I think in the Western Conference you usually will get a strong opponent anyway.
But I have a question. You said Spurs are first in the West and Houston are second. But that cannot be since we all know the situation when two teams are of the same division that the second team(Houston) can maximal be 4th in the West. (Like Spurs and Mavs last year, both teams with the best records of the league, but Spurs 1st and Mavs only 4th) The division leaders are always rank 1-3 based on their record. Or did I miss something ?

Anyways, I am looking forward to the playoffs :)

Mon Jan 08, 2007 12:30 am

Lamrock13, Well yeah, Chicago's not giving him much time... Though he looked good in some pre-season games...Thanks for the comment...

hova-, Well after last year's playoffs, David Stern announced a couple of changes, one of them was that a team which is second in it's division, but have a better record than other division's leaders can earn a 2nd or the 3rd spot in their conference.

Mon Jan 08, 2007 12:33 am

Youre damn right. Why did I miss that ? Man ......... sry ;)

Kobe was the clutch, chipped in 6 points in the last minute…

Box Scores
Lakers-111
Rockets-108

The Los Angeles Lakers celebrate their 5th win in a row against Houston Rockets(2nd in league). Lakers are still 6th in the western conference and 2nd in pacific division.
Lakers had a good start by gaining a 6 point lead at the first one, but it was collapsed in the second as Houston outscored Lakers by 11 points to get a 5 point lead.
Lakers were going down at the beginning of the third quarter, they were making turnovers almost in every possession, Houston used it as points. Though they had problems too, because Tracy McGrady got injured and was forced to leave the game. Lamar Odom collected his 5th foul after two minutes passed in the quarter and had to sit on the bench. Brian Cook substituted him well by finishing the game with 10 points and 7 rebounds. Tyrus Thomas joined Kobe Bryant and they started pulling their team out of the 19 point deficit. Rockets were getting slow from the middle of the quarter and started lacking some scoring. Kobe Bryant poured in 14 points in the third period and Lakers came back from the 19 point deficit and ended the quarter loosing by 5.
Smush Parker showed the best of him by posting 8 points and 7 assists in the last quarter. Lakers went for a great start and took the lead from their opponents, though they had some secret weapons of their own. Bonzi Wells substituted the injured T-Mac very well, by pouring in 12 points in the last quarter, 22 in the game. Along with great rebounding from Yao, Rockets managed not to sink. They even took the lead with two minutes to go in the game. At the beginning of the last minute, Houston held a 3 point lead. They burned some time and Lakers held the ball with 50 seconds to go. Kobe got the ball and chipped in a quick trey making the crowd go nuts and leaving Rockets 44 seconds. They burned some more time, but were unsuccessful to execute offensively. Lakers got the ball with 21 seconds to go and called a timeout. It was a tie. Lakers started burning some time, and with 10 seconds left, Kwame Brown tried to dunk the ball, but was unsuccessful, then Thomas got the offensive rebound and quickly gave the ball to Kobe who launched another trey for a 3 point lead, leaving Rockets 4 seconds. Rockets tried for three-pointer, but were unsuccessful and suffered their second loss in a row…

Sweet! A march update. I was waiting for it.

But is there any chance for you not to face Phoenix in the first round? I think Houston could be an easier opponnet for you, so you might lose some games and let the Grizzlies be the 6th and you will be at the 7th and face the Rockets

Thomas was playing good for you this month. (Y)

Mon Jan 08, 2007 11:08 am

Wow, the win streak continues. 10 to go. If you win these last 10 games, and the Suns lose those 3 games then you'll... still have to face the Suns... Well, f the Mavs lose 4 games, and you finish the season perfectly, you can destroy the T-Wolves.

Mon Jan 08, 2007 11:07 pm

Cool Tyrus Thomas is rookie of the month. The standings are pretty difficult to estimate since the Western opponents are all very very good. And what Marquis said, well this is just different from game to game in my opinion. Houston can be a handful with T-Mac and with Yao grabbing boards (damn he is just too tall). But Phoenix is a hard task, too. Threepointers from everywhere. Just try to win every game and maybe you can go past the Mavs and play against Memphis, but this seems to be impossible honestly.

Tue Jan 09, 2007 12:27 am

Marquis, Oh man I don't think so... You think Houston is easier than Phoenix? I'm glad I was able to finish the series with Houston 2-2. Now I hate 2 wins and 0 losses against Suns, I think the home court advantage(if I win another of two games) can be very useful for me...

Lamrock13, I doubt I can go over Mavs... And if I do, I doubt I'll have any chances to make the conference finals, because I'd meet Spurs in the second round...

hova-, I think the best option for me is to stay at 6th or 7th, because if I go to 5th I'll probably be meeting Spurs and that is a dead end... Well Houston is strong also, I only managed to win cause T-mac got injured last time...

Thanks for the comment guys, I'll be bringing you award candidate breakdowns soon...

Box Scores
Lakers-106
Kings-98

The Los Angeles Lakers defeated Sacramento Kings for their 6th win in a row. Lakers sit 6th in the western conference and 2nd in pacific division.
First quarter was a close one and ended 24 to 24. Both teams were a little worse offensively in the second and Lakers took a point lead at the end of it.
Lakers started the third quarter strongly, letting Kings score only 2 points in the first four minutes of the quarter and built a 18 point lead. But after Lamar Odom and Shareef-Abdur Rahim collected their 6th fouls and were forced to sit down, Kings started their comeback. Kings scored 18 points in the left 6 minutes and worked great defensively. Letting Lakers score not many points and narrowing the deficit to 8 at the end of the quarter.
Kings started off strongly in the last period, by getting many offensive boards and finishing most of the attack successfully. Kenny Thomas substituted Rahim very well by taking 11 boards(6 offensive). Kings took the lead with 4 minutes to go and extended it to 6 with two minutes to go. But then Tyrus Thomas poured in 2 amazing treys to cut the lead. Lakers were led by Smush Parker in the 4th quarter, he scored 11 points and dished out 4 assists. He helped Lakers to take the lead and hold it till the last minute. Kings couldn’t execute offensively and were forced to foul. Lakers shot the ft’s successfully at the end of the game and took the amazing win…

Well it's been a long time since I hadn't come and see your Dynasty, and I'm glag to see it's still excellent looking, great game against Kings and more generally for all last six games you won!

Hope yall make some noise when it comes to the playoffs, keep it up! (Y)

Tue Jan 09, 2007 4:50 am

French baller, Thanks a lot man... Good seeing you here again... Yeah I can't wait till the playoffs, I hope I get on Phoenix...

Tue Jan 09, 2007 5:01 am

Damn... looking at this dynasty just makes me smile. I kinda wish I could play Live again, cause I do admit, with the proper settings and whatnot, its comparable to next-gen graphics without of course the moving jerseys.

Good to see the Rox in 2nd place in the league... at least they are fulfilling the predictions ingame... fuckin LA Clippers.

Get ready for some real competition in a week or two, Pursuer. (Y)

Tue Jan 09, 2007 5:38 am

Jing, Believe me I'm ready, I hope I make to the playoffs before you get you're new shit...

Who will be the sixth man of the year?

As the regular season is reaching it‘s end, playoffs are getting closer and closer. And the regular season‘s awards are soon to be announced. So who will be the sixth man of the year? We‘ll be bringing you the top 3 candidates for this award.

Al Harrington
Image

The Pacer made his way to the team where he began his career in 1998, by ending his days as a Hawk. He played 65 and started in 8 games. Pacers‘ main bench player was substituting Pacers‘ star player Jermaine O‘Neal. Currently looking at his stats it looks that he’s the main candidate, because he’s the only one of all the bench players in the NBA who haven’t started in 10 games and are averaging 9 points per game. He looks hot for a bench player, but his team doesn’t at all. Pacers are 10th in the conference and won’t make it to the playoffs with a 27-47. Maybe Ric Carlisle was doing a mistake by keeping him on the bench?
Stats
Points per game: 9.8
Rebounds per game: 5.5
Assists per game: 2.5
Steals per game: 1.05
Blocks per game: 0.85

Shaun Livingston
Image

The young Clipper has been improving a lot lately. His team was red hot last season, but not doing so well this year. But they still should make the playoffs at least 8th in the western conference. Livingston played 73 games, 4 times started the game in the first 5. Shaun is without a doubt the future of Los Angeles Clippers and as soon as Cassell gets slower or retired his in the starting five.
Stats
Points per game: 8.5
Rebounds per game: 1.9
Assists per game: 4.1
Steals per game: 0.85
Blocks per game: 0.26

Jamaal Crawford
Image

Jamaal Crawford last year’s New York’s clutch performer is actually worth the starting lineup position ,but Isiah Thomas thinks if you have guards like Steve Francis and Stephon Marbury you can’t put them on the bench. Crawford had some 20+ performances this season, even one big 30+ points game against San Antonio Spurs, but the Knicks lost it. Knicks are only 21-52 and have lost chances to make it to the playoffs. They’re 14th in their conference and just like last year, we can call them outsiders.
Stats
Points per game: 8.0
Rebounds per game: 1.2
Assists per game: 2.6
Steals per game: 0.73
Blocks per game: 0.05

Other runners

Jameer Nelson, Mike Miller, Antonio McDyess, Jordan Farmar, Deron Williams, Sarunas Jasikevicius.

Tue Jan 09, 2007 5:48 am

I think it''s the very tough task to guess who will be the 6th man, because the CPU very often make dumb decisions choosing it and kinda choosing random...

but I think it should be Al Harrington from the stats you provided

Tue Jan 09, 2007 9:47 am

I think you can make the conference finals. Just play even harder and steal home-court advantage. I see your point about the Spurs although the simmed Spurs and the in game Spurs are two different things.

Weak sixth men, but it should be Harrington. Barbosa should be in the running for the award though.

Can't wait for the playoffs. Lakers ftw!
