Marquis, I just hope, I won't start such a streak again, I need to get my 3rd spot back, somehow..
Wed Jan 03, 2007 8:59 pm
Wow, AI and Melo were really on fire. But you overcame this with Kobe´s 41 and won it. Finally. Now start a streak and make sure you head into playoffs as number three in the West. Good Luck !

hova-, The task looks so hard, because Phoenix is like 4-5 wins better than I am, so I should be playing without any mistakes that cost the game...Thanks for the comment Hova-...

The Los Angeles Lakers celebrate their second victory in a row. Lakers kept their 7th position in the western conference and 2nd in pacific rankings.
Lakers had a strong first quarter by gaining a 12 point lead after it, but Blazers managed to cut the lead to 4 after the second.
Blazers started the third period by knocking down 6 points in a row and taking the lead. Then Dan Dickau poured in a trey, humiliating the Lakers, but after that play he collected his 5th foul and was forced to sit on the bench. Seconds later Martell Webster joined him with his own 5th. Kobe used the situation and started a 10-0 run, taking the lead back for the Lakers. Lamar Odom continued the successful offensive performance and took the leader role for the team. Lakers managed to hold off Blazers’ explosive Juan Dixon who scored 14 points in the left 6 minutes. Lakers still held a 3 point lead after the third period. Smush Parker helped Odom with 5 assists in the third period.
Lakers’ superstars Lamar Odom and Kobe Bryant combined a killer due in the last quarter. They were able to combine 22 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. They got much help from Farmar, Bynum and Parker, and Lakers took over the game. Blazers still were running by, Jarrett Jack scored all of his 9 points in the last quarter, along with Martell Webster they tried to bring their team back. They were successful at the last minutes when Blazers had a fragile 1 point deficit, but then Webster fouled out and Lakers eliminated Blazers from the playoffs.

Yes, good win !! Blazers are weak, but when you face them some guys always get hot (Dickau, Miles ...) So this one was important. Kobe and Odom are so strong, this one-two punch could bring you far, even in playoffs. Make it a three game winning streak and catch the Suns hot asses
Ah, and sweet bench contributions, too. Damn, I like the Lakers more than the Hawks when I take a look at your games

Nice game you had. Odom was on fire, but his 36 shots are not looking very well.

hova-, Well sometimes looking at other dynasties makes me wanna play with other teams, but just sometimes..
Marquis, Thanks, hmmm, strange, I didn't notice that... I suppose I wasn't attempting that much with him, maybe most of the missed one's are from the first half...
Thanks for the comments guys, you know I appreciate it...

The Los Angeles Lakers suffered a first loss after winning two games in a row. Lakers saved their 7th position in the western conference and 2nd in pacific division.
Lakers played first and second quarters the same, scoring 27 points in each of them, Wolves weren’t so stable and had to end the first half with a 5 point deficit.
Minnesota started the quarter slowly, missing couple shots in a row and making some turnovers. Lakers managed to extend their lead to 10 points and kept it like that till the middle of the quarter, when Trenton Hassell fouled out. Wolves felt like reborn and achieved a 18-0 run. Minnesota erased LA’s lead and made them suffer a 2 point deficit entering the last period.
Kobe Bryant and Lamar Odom combined 20 points in the last quarter. The two big guns were playing like never before, but there were some big problems for them, the biggest was the big ticket. If Garnett hadn’t been stopping Odom like that, he would probably had a 40+ point night. But Kobe Bryant saw the problems for Odom and stepped it up to raise his team. The teams were going along through the whole quarter. In the last minute Lakers had a 1 point lead, it was quickly erased by Mike James with a mid-range jumpshot, then Kobe answered with a hard lay-up to get back the lead. Randy Foye was the next offensive object for Wolves as they gave the ball to him and he scored 2 points for a 1 point lead. Lakers held the ball in the last 24 seconds and after 17 seconds passed Smush Parker got fouled and got a chance to take the lead by hitting two ft’s. He missed the first, but he made the second. It was a tie, Lakers were looking for an overtime, but then suddenly in 5 seconds Marcus Blount managed to make an easy lay-up for a two point lead for the Timberwolvers, leaving LA 1.4 seconds(without any time-outs), but they didn’t do anything in them…

Grizzlies started the last period strongly with a 10-0 run, just at it’s beginning. The initiator was Mike Miller who banged in two treys in a row. Lakers answered with 5 points in the next two minutes, Grizzlies added 7 more points. The game was going like this till the middle of the quarter, when Kobe Bryant started his 11-0 run. He got much help from Lamar Odom who assisted him 4 times. Grizzlies held a 6 point lead heading into the last two minutes of the game. Then Kobe Bryant poured in a trey, Parker stole the ball and Kobe finished the attack with a beautiful dunk, forcing Tony Barone to call a timeout. Grizzlies then executed a successful attack by hitting a trey, Lakers answere with two, then Damon Stoudamire made his 2nd consecutive trey for a 4 point lead. It was the last successful attack of Grizzlies, they couldn’t execute offensively anymore, that helped Kobe to get the win for L.A.. Good win, Hornets seem to be kinda weak. Tough night for Peja but also for Kobe. But with Odom stepping up I think you killed them pretty easily. Youre one win away from the Grizzlies, but with the Suns ahead you have no chance on getting the 6th seed, that is the main goal to catch the Suns.
Good luck in your next game !

Odom looks pretty weird in that main photo, but I'm impressed how he plays in your dynasty

Injury update
EL SEGUNDO, Calif., March 24 --
The Los Angeles Lakers‘ trainer Garry Vitti announced an injury update today, about Lakers‘ rookie forward Tyrus Thomas. He was injured last night playing against New Orleans Hornets. As it appears the injury wasn‘t very harmful and Thomas will continue to play though the injury will affect his performance. Tyrus Thomas‘ sore shoulder should be healed in 1-2 weeks...
hova-, Thanks for the comment, but I'm a little confused, you said: "you're one win away from the Grizzlies, but with the Suns ahead you have no chance on getting the 6th seed, that is the main goal to catch the Suns", you meant I have no chance on getting the 3rd seed, or no? I'm confused
Marquis, thanks man, yeah he looked strange to me too, so I downloaded a new cf for him few hours ago...

13 games to go! Great dynasty. Props for keeping this up and updating so quickly! Can't wait for more. Good luck with the rest of the season. You could still finish with a 56-26 record.
Sun Jan 07, 2007 12:20 am
Lamrock13, You must be kidding me, to win 12 more wins in a row... I've never done that, probably won't(at least with this team or the current schedule)...Thanks for the comment man... Glad you like my dynasty...
Sun Jan 07, 2007 12:22 am
About what I said ... ignore it ... I am a bit confused by myself
Just finish the season as best as possible and everything is good

Box Scores
Lakers-113
Warriors-101
The Los Angeles Lakers celebrate their 3rd victory in a row against Golden State Warriors. Lakers are still 7th in the western conference and are a win away from Memphis Grizzlies-Lakers’ tomorrow’s opponents…
Golden State shined in the first quarter, outscoring Lakers by 7 points. Though Lakers made a comeback in the second winning the quarter, 35 to 20 for a 8 point lead after the first half.
Lakers started the third period strongly by keeping Golden State scoreless the first two minutes and adding 7 more points to their lead. But it didn’t take long, when Smush Parker collected his 4th foul and was forced to sit on the bench, Baron Davis fired up… He made a 11-0 run only by himself cutting the lead, then started dishing out assists all over the place. Golden State had only a 5 point deficit with two minutes to go, but Kobe Bryant then surprisingly chipped in three treys to extend the lead to 14, Warriors couldn’t answer at the other end…
Both teams had a tough start in the 4th period by being silent for the first 2 minutes, but Lamar Odom broke the ice with a long trey. Jason Richardson led his team in the last period, scoring 15 points, he tried to make a Warriors’, but getting no help from his team-mates he couldn’t do the job alone. Smush Parker was the answer for the Lakers, he scored 8 points and had 4 dimes in the last period. Lakers held off Jason Richardson and took the easy win. Kobe finished with 33 points, 6 boards and 5 dimes, while Lamar Odom added 22 points and 11 rebounds, Smush collected 18 points and 7 assists. Jason Richardson had a team-high 32 points, Baron Davis added 16 points and 7 assists, while Andris Biedrins collected 15 points and 13 rebounds for a double-double.
Lakers will meet Memphis Grizzlies tomorrow night, Grizzlies currently are 45-25, if the Lakers win against them, they might jump to the 6th spot in the western conference.

Aight, good win, important win. Kobe in good shape, Odom in good shape and finally Smush bringing his A-game to the table. Now just take out the Grizzs and grab the 6th seed. When you manage to go to playoffs sixthseeded it may be better than 3rd seeded. Cuz actually you will face the North West leader and this may be the Nuggets. 3rd seeded you would face the 6th seeded and that may be stronger teams from other divisions ... so just win and dont care about the Suns ...
