...from the Chronicles of the 2006 Birdie Project:(info)

Mark's Detroit 2005-06 mid-season Birdie Breakdown:
Image

Wow, what a success story for Rasheed Wallace, much maligned in Washington and Portland, now he's resurrected his persona and vibe...and not to mention his gameplay, as he earns Team MVP honors with a weighted Birdie efficiency score of 20.27 - and his 'reversible' LiveCard will be enabled(once I get a screenshot from Mark.)

Breaking into the board:
This Dynasty instance is currently ranked #48 on the Official 2006 Birdie Board

Image
(view entire list here)

The qualifers:
C. Billups 20.5 ppg (ranks 9th)
B. Wallace 11 rpg (ranks 4th)
C. Billups 9.5 apg (ranks 1st)
R. Hamilton 2.07 spg (ranks 4th)
B. Wallace 3.4 bpg (ranks 2nd)
R. Hamilton 0.48 field goal% (ranks 10th)
R. Hamilton 0.818 free throw% (ranks 9th)
M. Evans 0.424 3 point% (ranks 3rd)

Complete 'Birdie Breakdown' coverage clickhere.

Mark: Well, after 7 months after it's release, we finally finally get a pstat submission from the Birdie Board vet! Thanks so much, it's cool that you're one of the few (including the X) that have pulled off that hat-trick. Please don't forget to submit your pstat again once your season is all wrapped up! And if you can, I'd love to get a screenshot of R.Wallace so I can make things complete and make a livecard for him!

Once again the East face up to the West with a small line-up, although if not for some supprising exclusions they would have a lot more size. The biggest supprise exclusion would have to be Shaq who will be missing out on his first All Star appearance in a long time, maybe fans thought that it would be safe to vote in Eddy Curry assuming the coaches would vote in Shaq, but that wasnt the case.

Another Snubee out East would have to be Detroits Rasheed Wallace who would have to be one fo the big reasons behind all their success averaging close to a double double and undoubtedly having his best season so far in his career Detroit fans would have thought hed be a sure lock.

Dwyane Wade anyone? Are the coaches actually retarded? Neither Shaq or Wade make the team, sure Wade may be battling and injury but its not serious enough to stop him playing, and if you decided to cut Wade for that reason then its the perfect chance to give Shaq his spot.

We will be sure to see East Coach Flip Saunders utilising a small ball lineup, most likely playing Lebron at Power Forward often, and most likely asking Al Harrington to lock down the Pivot position at times.

--------------------------------------F: Andrei Kirilenko

--------------------------------------G: Tony Parker

The West was more or less the line up most expected, P.J. Brown was a supprise but has been leading the young Hornets well this season. Tony Parker got his first invite which was much deserved. Zach Randolph got his first invite which in some eyes may not be deserved when there are players like Amare Stoudemire and Steve Nash who missed out.

The West will have the sure size advantage in this matchup and have alot of offensive fire power to go with some great premiter defense. Look for Kobe or T-Mac to try take this game over, with T-Mac to be pushing for the MVP honors on his home court.

My prediction: West by 20 and under

SOPHMORES HOLD OFF ROOKIES IN HIGH SCORING AFFAIR

Image
------------------Boxscores: [Rookie][Sophmore]

In what was a highflying fast paced game, the Sophmores managed to prevail over their Rookie opponents.
It didnt com easy for the Sophmores who found themselves trailing by 20 early in the second quarter.

The Sophmores managed to finally gain the lead after the mid point of the third and from there on led for the rest of the game.
Saruans Jaskevicus put on an amazing shooting display, sniping the Sophmores from all over the court.

Ben Gordon showed his 4th Quarter abilities once again, making some huge shots in the 4th and late 3rd to get
the Sophmores in position to win.
However it was Dwight Howard who was awarded the Rookie Game MVP Award totally dominating the paint,
and shooting a great 7-9 from the field.

Ben Gordon poured in the points for the Sophmores with 32 points also adding 5 boards.
Josh Smith, while playing in foul trouble still added 13 points 7 boards and a block and a steal.
Jaskevicus pured in 30 points for the rookies also dropping 6 dimes.
Marvin Williams showed his great potential with 26 points and 11 rebounds.

Thierry wrote:I had faith in Billups, I just like AI more Nice Sophs win over Rooks.

Billups adds 3 Point Shootout Trophy to his collection

Scorecards: [Round 1][Round 2]

Image

Chauncy Billups deffinately found his rhytm for the 3 point shootout,
only missing 5 shots all night and hitting all his money balls he went on to record one of the highest scores in history.

Quentin Richardson also lit it up in the first round scoring a 27 to tie with Billups,
however he went cold in the second round and recorded a below par 16 to set Billups up for the win.

Billups brings in the first trophy for the Detroit Pistons this All Star weekend,
how many more can we expect to see? The Dunk Competition will feature Center Ben Wallace,
who while being a clear underdog, could be a darkhorse in this years competition.

Ben Wallace was the under dog in this contest, yet he came through in the end for the win

Mon May 15, 2006 3:37 pm

Nice recap !
But I think Big Ben doesn´t have the sense of humor to do a Dee Brown dunk, but nevermind, NBA live and emotional realism is something very different.

Presentation rocks !

Mon May 15, 2006 5:36 pm

I didn't see that coming !
Big Ben and Chauncey taking home the titles
Haha.
Nice recap and presentation.
Looks slick.
As well as the photos.
Keep doing ya shit and ill be watching.

Mon May 15, 2006 11:54 pm

LeBron takes home MVP as the East beats out West in a high scoring affair

Image
------------------------Boxscores: [East][West]

In what was a extremely highscoring affiar, the East used a huge advantage on the glass
and some great transition play to defeat the West in Houston.
LeBron James tooke home the MVP honours(<-click) with a dominating performance
with nobody being able to stop him.
The West threw all types of defenders at the King but nothing could stand in his way.
The East also got some great play from Vince Carter, who scored 22 points, mostly on the break.
Vince looked to be well on track to take the MVP honors himself until he went down with an Injury in the 3rd.

The game was mainly dominated by the swingmen with 153 of the games 267 points being scored by them.
Kobe Bryant and Tracy McGrady tried their hardest to win the game, scoring a combined,
54 points and controlling most of the offense for the West.

Piston players Chauncy Billups and Ben Wallace played some great basketball,
with Billups leading the East in assists with 6 while also adding 16 points, 3 boards and 4 steals.
Ben Wallace (who came off the bench) added 8 points 5 boards and 2 blocks.

Well finally I have the ASW done, personally I hate it and that probably shows in the presenation as I couldnt really be bothered putting much effort into it.

Soon I will have the Spurs game up then the monthly recap done as well (Y)

Tue May 16, 2006 1:34 am

East dominated, your presentation was good .. I think I dont like the ASW, too, because it takes a lot of effort, but you dont see any progress in your dynasty !
