Wallace a Hornet, JR Smith a Bobcat

Charlotte, North Carolina (AP) -- The new Bobcats GM announced that the Bobcats send Gerland Wallace to Oklahoma City Hornets and will recieve JR Smith.

"I'm really glad that I made this trade" - said Ivan Shchipansky - " All Wallace could do is hit a shot in a paint and dunk. I need more mid range and outside shooting. Smith can do all of these."

Smith was drafted by the Hornets 1st round 18th overall in 2004 NBA Draft. He averaged 12.8 PPG, 2.2 APG, 3.1 RPG.

"Well this is NBA, and they did what is good for their team. If its Okalhoma, then thats where i'll play." - said Gerald Wallace

The Bobcats also presented new Jr's jersey:

Charlotte shuts down struggling San Antonio

Charlotte, NC (AP) – Nobody has expected the Spurs to start off their season with 0-3. Charlotte Bobcats were confident that San Antonio will have another break down and that the ‘Cats will capitalize on it. That’s what happened. Latrell Sprewell and Brevin Knight both scored 22 points to a big win over the San Antonio Spurs.

Emeka Okafor had another double double game with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Primoz Brezec and newly acquired JR Smith scored 11 and 5, respectively.

“I really like the way this team is playing, even though I only scored like 4 or 5 points, I had lots of fun playing today” – said JR Smith to the press.

Jumaine Jones finally got some playing time, and scored 13 points. For the Spurs, Manu Ginobili scored 24 and Tim Duncan added 23.

The Spurs have now dropped to 0-4. “It’s not what we’ve expected at all, we need to start playing like a team, and don’t have break downs to start winning” – said Tim Duncan after the game.

Golden State on fire, ‘Cats can’t stop them

Charlotte, NC (AP) – Golden State was 3-0 coming to this game. Baron Davis put up a show with 34 points and 5 assists.

“We didn’t play very good and fell short of the win, which I think we could have won” – said Ivan Shchipansky after the game.

Emeka Okafor led Charlotte with 20 points and 9 rebounds. Brevin Knight scored 14 points and made 9 assists.

Jason Richardson 23 points, the Warriors played without their main defender Adoynal Foyle who got injured. Andris Biedrins did a good job as a starter with 13 rebounds and 7 points.

Charlotte wins against Raptors

Charlotte, NC (AP) - Latrell Sprewell scored 24 points got 7 boards and 6 assists to lead Bobcats over Raptors. Emeka Okafor also scored 24 points and got 14 rebounds.

Even though Toronto was playing without one of their main shooter, Jalen Rose, they were playing like a team that’s will not give up till the buzzer. Mike James got 29 points. Eric Williams scored 24 points for Toronto. Chris Bosh had a horrible game finishing with only 7 points.

Brevin Knight got 13 assists and scored 14 points to claim Player of the Game award. Charlotte shot 50% from beyond the arc in the game.
