Rush's miss at the buzzer gives Grizzlies a W
Charlotte, Mar. 3(Ticker) -- The
Memphis Grizzlies beat the
Charlotte Bobcats in the only meeting of the year 99-98.
Charlotte had the ball with 4.4 ticks left. They took a time out to set up a play. Quentin Richardson inbounded it to
Brevin Knight, who quickly passed to wide open Thomas.
Thomas got immediately double teamed and with .5 secs left kicked it out to
Kareem Rush, who missed a 3 pointer which would gave the Bobcats a win.
Damon Stoudamire lead all of the scorers with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists.
"We did a good job on the last play, Rush got open, but luckily for us he missed that 3" - said Damon after the game.
Quentin Richardson scored 22 for the Bobcats,
Kurt Thomas added 16 with 11 rebounds.
Shane Battier had 22, while
Emeka Okafor scored 15 with 16 rebounds.
The
Bobcats are now 13-5,
Grizzlies improved to 14-10.
